September/October 2007 Code, Discount and Rates Watch

MK: Sunday evening, Thursday morning
AK: Wednesday evening, Monday morning
MGM: Monday evening, Saturday morning
Epcot: Friday evening, Tuesday morning

They're not posted yet, but that's the standard schedule.

EMH for Magical Beginnings hasn't been announced yet. I'm waiting for that information too, darn it. I was hoping they'd be on the calendar this morning along with the others.

Parades and fireworks are always a little slower to come up. They should be up within a day or two.

Things are always subject to change, of course. They like to throw us for a loop every now and then. ;)

this may be silly, but what does that mean?:confused3

never mind i found it! I had never heard of it before
The Magical Beginnings program was introduced last year -- August and September -- to entice families with preschoolers to plan trips for that time of year.

This year it's running September and October.

Last year there were special concerts and shows at MGM geared towards preschoolers, and MK had Little Ones EMH mornings, where only Fantasyland was open, for onsite guests. They had plenty of characters on hand to entertain and play with the guests. It was held three days per week last year, in addition to the 'regular' EMH morning at MK. So, it's definitely something to plan for or around. They haven't announced the details for this year yet though. So, we don't know if/when EMHs will be.

We are staying at CSR. DW and I stayed there last April and fell in love with the resort. Sush a wonderful quiet place to stay.

thanks! that's the first i'd heard of it!

Here are a couple of links with more information on Magical Beginnings:

wow! Thanks so much! I wonder why they are just having this in September/October?? We'll definitely have to take advantage of it this year :dance3:

The magical beginnings dates all say Sept/Oct but when I talked to CRO last week and asked for specific performance dates for the Doodlebops, she told me 8/20 through 8/23 :confused3 So I wonder if they are not part of the program or what?? I was really hoping they would be there later, August in WDW is just too hot for us Northerners :)

Are the magic beginning hours the same as the extra magic hours?

Also this is the first time we have considered going to Disney in the fall. Is Sept or Oct better for crowds and weather?

I was there in October last year, so I missed Magical Beginnings. I *think* MK opened at 8:00 for onsite guests, like regular EMH, except only Fantasyland was open. I also read that they had many more characters out than they normally do, playing games and riding the rides with guests. The reviews I read were generally very good. We don't normally do EMH mornings, but if they have the Little Ones EMHs again this year I think we'll give it a try.

As for September vs October -- September is generally hotter and more humid, with the afternoon rains like they have in summer. Mid to late October is less humid and has more moderate temperatures. September is generally less crowded, but October has Food and Wine Festival at Epcot. September is Value Season whereas October is Regular Season, so resorts are a little less expensive in September.

It's a toss up, LOL.

Thanks. I'm cheap but I want to go for the Halloween party so I think I might aim more for Sept.....free dining would definately seal the deal;) .

We're planning on September 27 - October 4. That way we get Value Season rates, possibly free dining if it's offered, and we can still catch the F&W Fest and MNSSHP. I've hit the very end of September into the first week of October before -- it's more crowded than mid September but we feel it's a good compromise.

I have the same dates booked for the same reasons. Free dining would be nice, but I will be there either way.
