Bounce Back was offered for a very limited time (ended 12/31/06) -- you had to book a future stay while still staying at a WDW resort. The program offered a reduced rate package which (I believe) was the free dining.

I know there was some controversy over it because it was not well advertised on-site and even people who knew about it had trouble finding out "where" to book it. Also, many people who would have booked it, didn't know about it until they got home from their trips and read about it on Disboards.

This sucks because yes this is the 1st time I've heard of BBP and we would have booked in Oct (who knows if it was even available then) when we were there last....thinking of going back for Sept 2007.

Now who knows. Maybe this is to cut down on Dining Plan pkgs? I know people have been complaining that there are not a lot of reservations avilable when booking their dining options.

I noticed on the 40% off code that the 7th of October through the end of that week was not included. I think that Disney has caught on to the Fall Break for students and is blacking those dates out I really hope they don't....but I know the past 2 years that the free dining was ended the week prior as well. The first year we got in on it, our school let out the first week of October then so we just booked that last day in September as our arriving date. The second year we weren't so lucky since the schools let out the second week

I think part of it is that is also the kick off for the Food and Wine festival at EPCOT and that seems to draw int he people also.

It is a gigantic can of worms, check the rest of the board! Some people have special codes associated with thier addresses, and others have gotten lucky and gotten the same 40% discount on rooms during different times of the year. It is not supposed to be a public code as far as we can tell, but some people called and got it when there was not one associated with thier address. I think Disney has put a stop to it, but that is up for debate as well.

Holding out hope that they will still offer free dining this year. I just talked to a CM and he was pretty pessimistic about them offering it again this year, since they had the return pilot program this past fall. I was hoping to at least find a code now, so I could make a ressie. I'll just keep looking!

Since I my account did not have a 40% code I had to book at full price and hope some magic happens between now and August 14th (the last day to cancel for a refund).

I spoke to 3 different CMs. 1 was clueless. 1 took great glee in telling me the marketing department selects people at random and I didn't get lucky. The 3rd was very nice and optimistic!

The nice guy said...book it, you have nothing to lose and if some magic happens between now and then we'll be happy to adjust your reservation. He kept alluding that 'lots can happen and that it was still VERY early for Sept/Oct trips to be getting deals. As for the 40% code, he said Marketing is doing select targeting and it's not over, but no one knows who they'll target next.

Then my husband called and spoke to a customer relations person to voice his opinion about the CM who sounded all too excited to tell us we were "not lucky enough to receive a PIN" when we just dropped a bundle last year and in previous ones. The CR person was very nice and said the same thing about it being early for Sept/Oct deals. In her personal opinion (not fact), she did NOT think there would be free DDP this year because their goal was to get the program recognition and show people it was easy to use and a good savings at the full price. She thinks they've achieved their goal by giving it away for 2 years. Then of course she said...but you never know! They don't tell her things until the day they offer them sometimes! We chose to keep our glass half full since that was what they said last year right before they offered it!

She said she could offer some remedy for the unmagical experience we rec'd IF our trip was within 90 days, but had nothing to offer for a Sept/Oct trip.

She suggested checking the Internet at least weekly and hoping for the best because it would be odd not to have anything for that travel period.

When my husband asked why we never get emails from Marketing if we're set up to receive emails, we were told that was another common mystery. She said she'd send our email address to Marketing requesting that we be flagged for future emails and offers. She said "sometimes that helps, sometimes it does nothing, cross your fingers". Who knows if she did anything at all, but...we'll hope so LOL

FYI The rates I have for POR 9/28-10/7 (standard room with trundle bed) so far:
AAA w/o dining - 2441
Disney w/o dining - 2735
Disney w/ dining - 4105

I REALLY need the 3,000 or less for the whole package like we got last year.

Has anyone done better for a Sept/Oct stay apart from the private 40% code?

We will be at POR from October 22-28th. We need to have a DIS meet for all of us staying at POR, don't you think????
