12-bought my mom's birthday present, so I have to make this a spend day, oh well
13-groceries

6/17 Days So Far, I've been pretty good about not eating out lately, but I almost caved yesterday because I was so tired

Updated my NO BUY calendar. UP to 5 of the planned 15 No Buy days I'm hoping to achieve. Plus I've been busy trying to make the best use of my pantry/freezer supplies (jumped on the Pantry Clean out thread recently). Last night's beef barley soup was made from stock and meat leftover from the Christmas Eve prime rib (thankfully I have a good deep freeze in the basement), so all it cost me was 1/2 C of barley, two onions, 8 carrots, and 5 stalks of celery! DH, DS, and I devoured it and there were 3 pints leftover for lunches. ............P

8/17 Days So Far, only 1/2 a day behind my goal, so not too bad

Just updated my calendar! Happy to report that not only was Monday a NO BUY, but DH stopped at a local discount store to return a bunch of unopened pool supplies we cleaned out of the garage last weekend (our pool collapsed last winter :sad2: ) and get a store credit of about $20 that I will use to purchase some snack foods for my trip to Bermuda. AND I have ANOTHER return to that store, so it will make the trip there worthwhile after tomorrow's dentist appointment. In fact..... I have a BOX of stuff to return to various places in my car and will probably make an evening of it tomorrow after the dentist.... hoping to get some money back in the account or at LEAST some store credits that will be useful (Old Navy, Macy's, Walmart, Target)...........P

Ugh. I've totally fallen off the wagon, guys. I did so well last month and this month I just feel like I've really been frivolously spending. I don't even want to put down the days because I know that every single day has been a buy day :crazy2: hoping to get back on track here before the end of the month!

You can do it :goodvibes This was me last month, I just had to set my mind to it 1,000% this month.

Hmmmm...not doing so great this week.

I decided to take advantage of the nice weather (and a sale) on Monday and walk up to the local grocery store for a few things.

But yesterday, DH ordered new shoes online due to another sale and I had to go BACK to the grocery store to grab something I missed on Monday (I earned $4 on Checkout 51 with this purchase Whoot!!) and tonight, I have to make a stop on the way to the kids' activities to get laundry detergent...it's on sale for a really great price plus I have a coupon to use, making it even cheaper.

I guess I should be grateful that all these purchases are helping me keep my grocery budget low, but it's really wrecking my No Buy plan for the month!!

**Edit...I decided to pass up on the good deal on laundry detergent tonight so I can have a no buy day!

I'm back for another month! All of the back to school expenses are out of the way and what's really great is that I don't have to pay for afterschool care anymore. Yay! That's a nice amount saved each month. This month I'm going for 15 days. I'm only counting my miscellaneous spending and eating out. Gas, groceries and other budgeted amounts don't count.
