September Check In

Now that sounds like my kind of meet up! Any day between the 8th and the 12th works for me (we just extended our trip by one day but we wont be spending the 13th in the parks). I know on the 8th we have a PS for BB at 11:30 and we plan on spending quite a bit of time in NOS so we can get our HM fix in before they close the ride down.

since i haven't been to disneyland in so long, i had such a time to try to figure out what your abbreviations meant LOL but now that i *think* i know what they mean, why is haunted mansion being closed down?!

i have lunch plans at the blue bayou on the 8th, so i'll be around the New Orleans Square area that day. My reservation is at 2:50pm, so if people wanted to meet around 2 or so, that would work well for me (or if there is a better time we can compromise on to get the most people to meet, i'm down with that too!). I know I have park hoppers, so if its fairly simple to hop between the two, I don't mind finding time later in the week either but I figure it's good to start with one time/date and go from there

The Haunted Mansion is closed down for a period every September so they have time to put together the Haunted Mansion Holiday for Halloween through Christmastime with the Nightmare Before Christmas stuff. I wish I could go again during that time of the year again, I love the Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay!! It usually closes around the 10th through the 25th/26th or so which is why I have never gone for my birthday before now.

2 sounds like a great compromise for now on the time to meet in New Orleans Square and I'll list it like that for now but that we can change the time if necessary. Too bad your PS (Priority Seating, Disneyland speak for reservations) for Blue Bayou a little earlier since that's when we'll be eating there as well!

Gotta finish getting ready for work! I'll add that meet to the list when I get home this afternoon. We'll have 3 people on it so far. You, me, and the friend I'm going with who posts here as well.

We'll be there from the 9th and leaving on the 14th. We'll be going to the Expo all day on the 10th and going back the next three days when there's a speaker or preview we want to see. The rest of the time will be at the parks. We'll be staying at the DLH.

All of the information that I have seen is that it closes on the 10th. It's a shame that it looks like the entertainment is going to be light during that week - especially when it's coinciding with the Expo and you would think there would be a bunch of people attending that who would like to get some park time in as well. I dunno. I keep hearing rumors that Fantasmic! will be dark for the rest of September after Labor Day, but for now it's currently on the entertainment schedule for September. I have to say after all of the disappointments I have had so far while planning this trip, the worst would be there being no Fantasmic! I have no desire to see the Magical fireworks as I much preferred RDCT and with no parade worth seeing either. This is why I generally don't go to Disneyland for my birthday. Stupid September/off season.

We haven't decided yet. I'm definitely getting her a makeover at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, and would love to take her to Ariel's Grotto afterward But it depends on how funds are looking in the next couple weeks.

My mom took my DD a month ago and did BBB and then Ariels Grotto lunch afterward. The pics from both were priceless. She felt so regal!

I will be there 9/10 to 9/14, staying at DLH. This is my solo trip without the kids and my first DL trip!! Also attending the D23 expo.

We're there for a short trip on Sept 1 & 2! Even for just a short trip, I'm excited. The only thing I'll miss (again) is Aladdin But F! and Fireworks is on! They better not change it either! We're staying at Hojo's King room Bld 1 high floor request, so I'll have pics to post of them too!

why Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain will be closed and no Fantasmic during the Expo. You would think they would have their most popular attractions going during the Expo. This is a mistake on their part. Just my opinion.

We'll be staying at the Disneyland Hotel September 26-October 1 (Book 3 nights get 2 free). It is my/our first time staying on-site at Disneyland. Past Disneyland visits have always been single day trips.

I'm glad they're pushing the normal closing date for HM back a few days so they can keep it open for the event on 9/9/09. It usually closes a few days earlier and now I actually get to go on it!! And SM is included in this year's Halloween festivities.

I wish we could get a final word on Fantasmic! but I keep hearing something different every day. First I hear that it will be dark for all of September after Labor Day, but it's still being listed on the entertainment schedule during the weekends and then Al Lutz had this to say back on the 1st:

Editor's Note 8/1: Flotsam & Jetski's night vision cameras are working well, and Murphy the Fantasmic dragon is meshing with his new programming, which has emboldened Disneyland to add two Fantasmic shows per night back to the weekend schedule in September, at least until HalloweenTime begins.

So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it is no mistake and we will be getting Fantasmic! in September.

Then I just checked it again just now, and only F! is showing at 8:15. 2 weeks ago, F! and Fireworks were listed at 8:45 Fireworks, 9 F! and 10:30F! Even though we all knew the parks were closing at 9. Whoever is inputting the info for DL calendars is whacked or on drugs! I didn't expect to see either since its off season, but jeez. To see it up there, get your hopes up and have it changed 3 times in 2 weeks, literally 3 weeks before you leave to go on your trip is ridiculous. It would have been better not to have it up and surprise us. Otherwise, it looks like a bait and switch tactic.
So how do you know for sure F! is not showing on the 1st and 2nd? Just wondering since it's still shopwing on the "official" (but whacked) DL Resort Enteratainment calendar...

I remember looking at the Calender as soon as the times were up for the first week in september and I can't believe how the entertainment schedule just keeps getting changed its so confusing
Theres a post about it, i'll go find it in a sec and post the link. Someone called and emailed to try sort out the confussion. It's going to be showing the fri/sat & sun (4th, 5th, 6th) then i think it goes dark
