I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone has gotten for car rates in September...

We got: Alamo, 8 days, midsize, for $90.88 incl. all tax & fees..(bjs codes)

got a mini-van for 3 days from Dollar for $123.00 (mousesavers.com)

My Sept. rate is not too good. EA - 6 days $119.
All my rentals ( Sept.-Oct.-Nov.-Dec.) are much higher then last year.

We are getting our mini-van from Dollar $210, free additional driver. I used the Orlando Magic Card. :wave2:

Octobers rates are still considerably high... I booked my sil about 3 weeks ago a midsize through alamo for 8 days $184 w/ tax & fees... todays rates were $215. I check the rates daily...

I've found the best discounts through our bjs membership + using a bjs coupon.

I just looked up a mini van for Oct 6 -15 and they want 356.00. ugh. Its 280, then the surcharges, and thats with no insurance!

Thank You.... I will keep checking the rates I hope they go down so I have more spending money for Disney

I'm done looking...very happy with 10 days, 9/22 - 10/1, compact car, Alamo, $117.00, e-coupon and Mastercard discount code found on Mousesavers. :thumbsup2

I just got a midsize rental for a week (9/23-9/30) at Alamo for a rate of $99.12 weekly using my Costco membership. It came to $134 out the door which is $50 less then the reservation I made afew months back. Would love to get it even lower. Anyone know if you can use additional coupon codes with the costco rates?

Definitely. Use the Alamo e-coupon listed on their website. It will save you another $20. :goodvibes

If you don't have a rate you like look at mousesavers.com on the car rental page. They have THE BEST codes for rates. You just have to keep trying. I booked my minivan 3 weeks ago for $365. Now I have it at $210 with free add'l driver. I saved over $150 on the car and $56 for the add'l driver. :cool1: We have our rental from Sept 21-28. It definitely pays to keep checking the rates :surfweb: the closer you get to your vacation. Good Luck! :thumbsup2

Thanks! I just did that and it worked! We are now at $111 out the door for a midsize 1 week rental!! :cool1:

I printed out the coupon to take with us. One question- the fine print on the coupon says "may not be combined with other discounts". Is using my Costco contract ID# considered "another discount"? Has anyone ever been given a hard time about this?

I have a full size from National for $150 including taxes and additional driver for September 25 - September 30.

All because my husband wants to get a milkshake from Steak & Shake while we are there!!!

We only need 2 full weekend days 9/16-18 to visit family nearby. Full size out the door w/National, AARP code (allows one extra driver), NU6 coupon (allows 2 size upgrade from compact to full size) is just under $49. I'm happy with that. It's dropped since our first ressie was made a month ago. Can't get close to that on Alamo.

Steak & Shake has the BEST chocolate malts!

its only freaking 10 dollars more for me to rent a minivan from Dollar rent a car for 15 days starting Sept 30th, than it would be to rent for 8 days starting Oct 6 (or pretty much anyother day in october)

what is UP with October!!!???

btw way the rate for 15 days, 2 drivers, 7 pass. mini van, unlim. miles 410.05.

I can rent one from thrifty thru orbitz for 225 tho, but i've never trusted orbitz.

I got a full size SUV from alamo for 8 days (picking up and dropping off in two different cities) for $141.86 after taxes. That includes an additional driver, unlimited miles. I checked it again today and it would cost me $385.00 if I would book today! WOW!
