Hi everyone! I have enjoyed reading this thread, and if all goes well, I'll be booking this soon. If so, if there is interest, I organize a Local Candy/Snack exchange, in which we use Fish Extenders to hand out local treats.

Hope that we get our quote soon, we already have a rental car booked each way, to/from the port!

Randy and Cathie here, we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary on the 9/9/15 cruise. This cruise, we're on deck 12 in Concierge. For any first time cruisers, let me know if you have any questions.

That's awesome. I've never been on a Member Cruise but would like too and would love to do a transatlantic or PC cruise too. We've been DVC members since 1997 and live in South Florida. We go cruising or to WDW as often as possible

OK, we are booked!

If there is any interest, I will organize a Local Candy/Snack exchange. We use FE to pass our local treats. In the past, we've gotten Lime taffy from FL, Life Savers from Cleveland, chocolate from Hershey PA, Potato shaped candies from Idaho and Doctor Pepper Jelly Bellies from TX. Many more treats, not only candy, also flavored popcorn and cheese straws from Mississippi as examples. Things should be wrapped by manufacturer, just like Halloween candy treats that you give out at home.

Just mention here or use a Private Message to contact me. If there are any allergies, please mention that, the information will be passed along to your group. I keep the groups smallish, so no one gets a sugar overload, but since this is late, maybe there may be only a few interested. At any rate, I will arrange a fun exchange! It is one very nice characteristic of Disney cruises, coming back to your room, and finding a treat!

We have a fair amount of DVC points and rent some of them (rather than booking with them) to go on the cruises. If we get together during the cruise, we'll show you the lounge and our room, it's really nice

Yes, I noticed that. I think there is a child FE organized.

My thoughts are that I do not need any more things, hence I organize and participate in a consumable exchange!

Great! Do you live in Ohio now? On one exchange we and another family gave the same Cincinnati treats! We live in Dayton area, Centerville/Washington Township.

So, how do you do the FE candy exchange?

It is a one time presentation. Each member of the group hangs out a Fish Extender. We are told how many are in each cabin, if there are allergies, and the treats are put in the pockets. You can mention the number of adults and children. Tom and I do give a little extra, non local, to children. Treats should be wrapped by the manufacturer for safety, and i encourage folks to include something about the history of the treats. I have found that information on the Internet.

On one cruise there were 3 cabins participating, on that cruise, someone besides me gave candy from the same Cincinnati manufacturers! On last year's DVC Member cruise there were 32 cabins and I divided them into 4 groups of 8.

The amount given is up to each participant.
