September 30, 2012 - "To San Francisco and Beyond"

Thanks, everyone for the transportation suggestions. Still working it out but I'll post back when it it settled...

Did I read correctly that someone said you could sign up your children on-line, prior to boarding?? I went into our account & couldn't find that info. :confused3

I couldn't find it at first, either!

Planning Center --> My Cruise Activities (Under My Reservation)--> Fun Aboard the Disney Wonder --> View/Edit Child Registration

My understanding is that we still need to get the kids a bracelet, which can be done at port before boarding or directly at the club once on board. HTH!

I think I'm going to have to say Russell but the decision is WAY to hard to make!

I emailed DCl about cabin number.
In the past, the cabins have been assigned around the 30 day mark.

Here is the response

I'm going with two 'couples' :) what! It's still two!!

Buzz & Woody and Sully & Mike

I am going through my packing list and thought I would remind new cruisers that these items are needed to take.

Powercord with a few extensions. There is hardly any place to plug things in.

Hair dryer. The power of the ones in the cabin will make you really late for dinner they have very little power behind them.

If in an inside cabin I would bring a night light if you do not want to keep the bathroom door light on.

Highlighters so you can look at the navigator and plan your events.

Stic notes in case you need to leave a note for housekeeping or family to meet you somewhere.

Items to get signed. You can get a couple of items signed by the characters. I take a couple of picture frames to get signed. You need to provide the markers and what characters you would like to sign. You do not have to do this but I put some candy in a bag as a thank you for signing.

Some people have taken the blank vinylmations to get signed.

For those who do not know take the items in a clear plastic bag to guest services on the first day of the cruise. I do this later a night so there is not a long line up.

While there you can pick up birthday buttons, anniversary button, just celebrating buttons with the Disney Cruise ship on them.

I will think of some more this is just a start.

I'm partial to Dory as I feel she and I can be somewhat alike. And she and I both speak whale. I spoke whale last April while in Cabo and a whale appeared! People think I'm kidding but we were out there an hour and a half and nothing...within 10 mins of speaking whale, we spotted one.

Sorry it's so big. I can't figure out how to make it smaller.

I have a strong feeling we'll be getting them a week from today. If you check the thread for *GT assignments, the people cruising on the 16th got theirs a week ago, and the sept 23rd cruisers got theirs today. Our turn next week!

:hourglass

Adnil530....I want to learn to speak whale too.....loved Dori.

Also loved Wall-E and E-va!

We are thinking that if we enjoy this Disney Cruise we might like to do the Mex. Riv again for the umpteenth time before the Wonder leaves the West Coast on Dec 9th....and the itinerary even says it is going back to Mazatlan....gee, I hope that is true....we want to go to Stone Island and Victor's once again!

Thanks for the info about the buttons. I do this in the parks but didn't even think about for the cruise!

I've been debating on what to take to the desk to be autographed. Is horizontal or vertical better for picture frames?

This is great, thank you!

re picture mats, I don't think the autographs will all be oriented the same way, so it really doesn't matter, but an important thing is to get some painters tape and put a border around the edge of the matt so that the signatures don't extend all the way to the edge. If you do this, you won't have signatures covered by the edge of your frame.

That's great Lynda, thanks so much. One of the reasons I've been debating the matte is because of orientation so it is good to hear it won't really matter.

Next question. Has anyone asked what the size of the special Pixar lithograph (that we are all apparently going to get) is?

I have 2 lithos that Disney gave to us from different cruises and they are 16x20.

Love the tape idea. If you're trying for the orientation to be horizontal or vertical, how about putting a temporary photo or "this way up" onto the opening. (DH says if you put a temp photo they might sign it...:rotfl2:)
