September 30, 2012 - "To San Francisco and Beyond"

Thanks Lise! Got all the info and appreciate your taking the time with a Disney Cruise novice. This is a bit different from other 7 day cruises here on the West Coast.
Bob will bring his tux and I will get my formal stuff out too. Interesting that it is at the end of the week instead of the beginning.

We have had guarantees on other cruiselines occasionally, but this time we wanted to be sure we got a balcony, so that is what we have.

No problem with the gift exchange being closed.

there seems to be a lot of new fun things to look forward to on this ship.

I just read that there will be a special Pixar-themed dance parties in the Atrium Lobby! I think the character dance parties are so cute at a great way to spend a little more time with the characters (or get some great photos from the upper deck). Super excited to see the Pixar characters dance! party:

Lol! Me 4! I've almost finished! Just have 3 or 4 more gifts left to do and it has been fun. I hope everyone enjoys them as much as I have had fun making them :)

Getting ready to send off our request for the Group Palo Brunch. I need to hear back from Hollywood_Glitter and StSomewhere. I've sent a PM so please check your PM's if you haven't already. It's a holiday week/weekend. I know it's been a few days since we've heard from Hollywood and I know Stsomewhere has just returned from a trip. I just need confirmation of whether or not you would still like to attend. I'd appreciate it. Thank you

So looking forward to getting away! We have some business to take care of in LA on Saturday Sept 29 and then we are off to Oceanside to have a late lunch/early dinner with eldest daughter, her dh and our 3 grandchildren. DD just did the Disney 1/2 Marathon last weekend. While it is only a meal and a few hours, being with DD and her family will make the trip down South so worth it. We never seem to be able to spend enough time with them.

We are staying the night before the cruise at the Crowne. There is a little coffee shop around the corner where we will be having breakfast. Anyone else staying nearby that would like to have breakfast before going to port?

Linda

I'm here! Last week was just crazy. My parents were getting ready to leave for their cruise and we were finishing FE gifts, my mom was also tring to finish a whole house full of draperies for one of her clients, then we had a medical emergency at home and we had to call the paramedics and rush my dad to the hospital. He's fine now but he had a TIA (mini stroke) on thursday night and didn't get out of the hospital till late saturday afternoon. It was so scary! He did get the ok to travel so they left for their Alaskan cruise early monday morning. They are celebrating their belated honeymoon (39 years married in December)

What info did you need? I checked the pm I got from you and it didn't mention you needed my reservation number. Is that it? Let me now and I'll send it to you like yesterday:goodvibes

I'm still up for a pre-cruise meet up if anyone is interested.... We live in Anaheim so if anyone wants to get together let me know?

You're going to have a great first cruise... we just love Disney. We did some other cruises before, but haven't strayed since. :goodvibes

As far as Formal Night being later in the cruise, I think they like to build to the event :flower3: Also, I believe they try to make it a Sea Day, and we only have 2. I'm thankful I'll have time to send our formal clothes to be pressed :cloud9:

If you want to see a more detailed "tentative" schedule, check out this post by Hollywood Glitter: CLICK HERE

Are you up on Disney's rotational dining? Hollywood Glitter has another post that details the possible rotations. Personally I love how we walk into a completely a different restaurant... but are guided to our same table number, greeted by our same wait-team and my saved 1/2 bottle of wine from the previous night shows up chilled to perfection (DH doesn't like wine):rotfl2:

How scary! I did read about your dad and I am so glad that everything is okay now. I am sure it has been a rough and detailed orientated week especially with the Alaska cruise in the mix! I am so glad he is okay:grouphug: and on the Alaskan cruise!

The only thing I needed was your okay to submit the request just in case you made other plans in the interim. I have your ressie number and info.

I'm looking forward to meeting you oh so soon!

We are ON the same boat too! Maybe we can finish off that bottle in one sitting if we're together :lmao:

Yes, that too :) always happy to share though!

adnil530,Linda,
I've been staring at your name trying to figure out why it's so familiar and then I realized we were on the same cruise Halloween 2010. It's nice to see a familiar name. :)

We won't be joining for brunch.

It sounds like there is going to be a lot of lectures and things to do and see during sea days.

Wow...I can't believe this has been going on for 67 pages and I just came across it. It's a big internet.

This will be the DW and my second cruise but first with DCL. It's good to see there will be many others sans kids. Ours are all off on there own but I don't want to miss out on the fun stuff just because they aren't coming along.

Sounds like a good group and a great time. We're looking forward to the week.

Hi Sheri :wave2: I recognized your name right away but I am horrible with putting names to faces! That western cruise was one of our favorites. From trick or treating to the buried treasure chest at Nochi Cocum, lots of fun for the kids and adults.

We won't be joining for brunch.

Hi Christi, thanks for letting me know. I appreciate it :) With only 2 sea days, yes the sea days are going to filled with lots of choices :goodvibes

That said, if someone else would like to be put on the list for the group Palo Brunch, please PM me your name and reservation #. There is room for 2 more on the list. I will be submitting our request soon and may revise it once we see the itineraries. Again, no guarantee that our request will be granted but it is certainly worth a try for those who would like to have Palo brunch but did not get a reservation.
