Glad that you're going to Disneyland before your cruise. I just need to mention again that it's 4 miles to the Walt Disney Family Museum, and while it's a great place to visit, I wouldn't consider that walkable. Public transportation would take a long time. I suggest taking a taxi and splitting the cost. That's what my group will be doing.
and once again, I'm not only a native San Franciscan, I still work in the city every day.
Sorry, I can't help you with a recommendation for Clam Chowder as I'm allergic to shellfish...... We will be docking quite close to Pier 39 and there are tons of places there to get it.
If I were bringing someone to Pier 39 to eat, I'd go upstairs to the Eagle Cafe, it was one of the original buildings on the pier and when they wanted to "gentrify" the Pier and turn it into a tourist destination, one of the stipulations was that they had to preserve the Eagle Cafe. By all accounts, the clam chowder there is not only served in a sour dough bread bowl, it's pretty good.
Hi Belle 1997! I booked through Dreams Unlimited and they are arranging the transfers for us. We had our choice of any of the DL hotels. We are also going to DL before the cruise and we are from Newmarket! Hope that we will have a chance to meet!! Too bad that we can't take advantage of the Pixar book as Disney still doesn't offer the Disney Visa to Canadians Eh?!![]()

To funny. Being from Barrie we drive by Newmarket each day. We are planning on going to DL on September 26 onwards. Not sure what flights we are taking yet toss up right now between southwest buffalo and Toronto. Time will tell on which ends up being the cheapestSince we need to take into consideration hotel stay before and after.
So here we are going all the way to the West coast to meet up and we live no more than 20 minutes apart lol![]()
I got 206 & 235 out of Buffalo (with Jet Blue). I didn't think that was too bad!! Toronto taxes are just a killer! We're leaving the 27th.![]()
Ok since you work in the area could you please recommend a taxi service that we can pre book an accessible cab. If we can not count on one we will be walking not going to miss this. !!!!
Darn! I would have sworn that I already answered this one, but I can't find it. Luxor cabs added accessible cabs last year, here's the news release
"SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A San Francisco cab company is getting 40 new vehicles specifically to transport people with disabilities.
The car uses compressed natural gas so it will get excellent mileage, and according to the manufacturer, is the first vehicle designed from the ground up for wheelchair accessibility.
A prototype was shown off Wednesday morning for senior citizens who were able get in and out using a motorized ramp. Some noticed a huge difference from the current cabs that lift them backwards onto the vehicle.
"This is the first time that I have been able to enter and exit the van facing forward, which is a safer way to exit and enter," said Bruce Oka with the SFMTA Board of Directors. "

My husband and I just booked this cruise for our kids (5 and 3). We were already scheduled to go on the MR cruise on 11/25 but decided this one sounded fun and we will be celebrating our DS 6th birthday while on the cruise. This is our kids 3rd cruise and our 4th. So excited. I'm not trying to find a hotel to stay in the night before the cruise, and looking for one that offers transportation and park and cruise. Any ideas?
We are:
Lisa
Carl (DH)
Alec (DS, age 5 turning 6)
Olivia (DD, age 3)
