September 30, 2012 - "To San Francisco and Beyond"

So I double checked the times and the boat starts becoming visible by the World Cruise Center around 6:15. By 6:30 it's docked and ready to send people home. Here is a link for the rest of the photos in case anyone is interested

BEAUTIFUL job on these Sigris! Some of them would make lovely postcards!! Was it foggy or humid as the morning wore on? The lighting really added to the shots.

See you real soon! Liz pirate:

Thank you for sharing your pictures from this morning. If you don't mind me asking...what brand of camera did you buy? It takes great pictures!

Will you be sharing your sail away pictures as well?

Thanks for the posting the picture. I flew out of LAX this morning and was hoping to see it docked on the departure. It had cleared in L.A. But not down to Long Beach yet.

and if you do...that will mean I can finish up the FE list and email the final one to everyone :cool1:

Deb :flower3:

We will let you know as soon as we find out!

Note to FE participants: you may want to have a pen handy at the meet n greet so that you can update your lists for any last minute port upgrades/ changes.

DW is more excited about the cruise now. I was waiting on some scheduling issues but now that we know I will be off she says she can be more excited. I told her she was going to get to go anyhow but apparently she didn't want to go alone. Go figure.

I buy off of eBay too but I make sure that they are shipped from the United States and not directly from China. There's really nice sellers from Florida and Tennessee. Hope it helps.

The man I bought from was from New York but I would love to know the names of the ebay buyers you have used

On another note, you know the free drink stations... Do the cups come w/ lids? If we plan to walk around w/ those drinks, I'm just wondering if maybe we should bring our own cups... Thanks!

We like using water bottles for soda. They're also good to transporting soda to the cabin to enjoy with a little Vanilla Rum... probably just pick some up at the Wal-Mart in LA :cool1:

The weather was pretty good until the boat started turning then it got real foggy for a while. I think there is a picture in a batch that shows the bridge disappeared! I went again later in the day and met up with Lady Bodacious and her husband. (They are super nice) We saw the boat leave and I got some more pictures. I'm going through go through them tonight and try to post some tomorrow.

Is anyone staying in the area the night before, Susie and I just booked at the long beach best western for the night before. So I figured we would just cab it to the port the next morning :) just curious

We're still figuring our our transport/hotel combo. We need a car for a while on Saturday, a place to stay and maybe a shuttle/cab depending on where we get/drop the car. I keep re-tweaking the plan when I learn something good on the DIS.

You said you might grab a cab? Reading their website, the Long Beach Best Western has a shuttle to the port? It looks like it comes with the "Long Beach Park and Cruise Hotel Package" if you need the parking.

For us I was looking at their "Long Beach Fly & Cruise Package".

Hi Disneyite!

Sorry I missed you this morning. Lady Bodacious said you she meet up with you this morning. I got a Canon Rebel T3i. I was looking for a long time and found a really good deal on QVC. I have only bought from there twice before but I really like their return policy, easy pay program and customer service. I'll pm you the link so you can take a look at it.

I will definately share my sail away pictures. :thumbsup2

Yeah I was looking at that too, we're not parking a car. Long story short we were able to get dropped off on Saturday but not Sunday so we have no car but need service to the terminal. I was going to call them tomorrow or Tuesday and ask if they have a shuttle available even if you don't park a car.

I was just wondering if you guys could help me out
I'm trying to choose a formal night dress and I can decide
(the third one is more green than it is showing up in the photo)

Thanks ! :yay:

LOVE the first dress for formal night. It's beautiful

Thanks for the cup advice, everyone!

Just a heads up.... there is a note posted near the beverage station that you should only use new cups to refill as this stops contamination on the spouts. Also when we were on our Alaska cruise there was someone posted at the stations sometimes who stopped people from using their own cups.
Just a word of warning.

Just a reminder for all the new Disney cruisers.... they don't allow personal irons on board if you thought you would like to bring one. When we got off the WBTA there was a table piled with confiscated stuff and most of it was irons...

A few candles!!!! too. They don't allow naked flames in the cabins ie tea lights or candles.

Hurray!! :cool1: We got our room assignment. We were VGT in case anyone else is waiting. We were out of town all weekend so I hadn't checked since Friday; we may have been assigned anytime in the last three days.

Deb please update the FE with our room number 8088
Thanks,
-Paul

I don't know of any cruiseline that allows irons or candles anymore. But you can bring the battery run candles that look like the real thing.

Hollywood Glitter.....great photos....are you going to post any from your evening jaunt to the port?

Just got a call from our friend that we cruise with a lot who retired from Disneyland and we are all going for a day in both parks on Oct 19th. Haven't been since we let our passports lapse....lots of new stuff to see.
