September 30, 2012 - "To San Francisco and Beyond"

Hi! I'm Rhi, Meganyvemarie's sister. I am so excited to be coming on this cruise! We'd been looking at it since Disney announced the Pixar themed cruises but I wasn't sure if I could get the time off. Fortunately everything worked out perfectly and we'll be flying out of NZ On the 28th!

I'm looking forward to finding out who the Pixar artists and filmmakers who are doing talks onboard are, I am an animator myself so that's going to be really cool!

Counting down the days! The best thing about booking late is that you don't have long to wait! See ya real soon!

We're also staying at the San Pedro :) Flying in the day before to make sure that we've got plenty of time in case of delays. I'm happy to see that others have stayed there before. Was a little concerned but i'm feeling better about it now.

Our wedding was 18 years ago... It looks like they've kept it up. The ratings look good. Don't think I'm gonna tell DH where were staying... a little surprise

We booked today! We are officially on the Sept 30 Wonder!!!

FE - yes!!!

Bracelets - yes!!! I'm happy to send money now.

OK we need to name the cruise. I bet we can come up with a great one... with a Pixar twist?? Here's an idea: To SF... and Beyond

Just booked this cruise today. We just got back from a 5 day on the Dream but there's much of the classic ships that we miss. We saw the great deal on this one and had to jump on. My DH can't get the time off but I will be going with my boys and BFF. My sister and brother's families will also be joining us. It's all very exciting. All 3 families will be joining in for the FE's.

Does anyone know when the character breakfast will be for this cruise? Also does anyone have the dinning rotations for this cruise?

Thanks:goodvibes

This is PERFECTION! I love it!

I'd say SF... and Beyond highlights California mark on technology.

Here's another idea with more of a California frontier theme... * Woody's Pacific Coast Round-Up *

Lise,

I'm loving all the names and play on the Pixar characters. :cheer2: My favorite is "To SF.....and beyond" but I also like "The INCREDIBLE California Coasters"

Welcome CasaMartinez and Family!

I received your FE information and have added your 3 families to the list.

Here's a money saving tip we learned on the DISboards heading to cruise #4...

You can put alcohol in your suitcase for your flight. Once you land you need to claim your bags and take out the bottles and carry them onto the ship with you.

Beverage Policy
Question
What is the policy regarding bringing alcoholic beverages on board?
Answer
Alcohol is permitted on board. However, any fragile items (including alcoholic beverages) must be hand-carried on board in the carry-on of an adult Guest – age 21 or older (dimensions can't exceed 22" wide, 14" high and 9" deep).

Alcohol brought on board may not be consumed in any lounge or public area.

Guests who arrive in the dining room, including Palo and Remy, with a bottle of champagne or wine will be charged a corking fee of $20.00 per bottle.

Please be advised: Disney Cruise Line reserves the right to remove fragile items (including beverages) from checked luggage. In such cases, items will be stored and returned at the end of the voyage. Beverage containers are considered fragile and have previously caused damage in checked luggage. All fragile items must be transported inside carry-on luggage.

Disney is the only cruise line I'm aware of that allows guests to carry on wine, beer and hard liquor We need to be very respectful of the policy. We don't want to lose this privilage. No sneaking wine and drinks into pool, loungs or dining areas.

Now a private DISparty in the Walt E Disney Suite... I'm there party:
I vote for Vanilla Rum and Coke :drinking1

I've also seen people carry on a multi-pack of bottled water.

This is going to be our first cruise, me, my husband, and 6 year old son. I've been on a few cruises before with Carnival, but this is our first on Disney and we're are very excited. Are there any tips or secrets from past cruisers that you might want to share with a newbie? Thank you all for any advice!

:wave2:

Let's see... For past cruises, I pre-packed Sabrina daytime clothes in 1 gal Ziplocs. She just grabbed a bag each morning, and I knew she'd look good in the photos. This cruise she'll be 12... not sure who's in charge of her wardrobe :smooth:

At any rate, it will be me, my husband and our 10 yo and 7 yo daughters. We are trying to take a Disney cruise before they leave CA so it seems silly that we will be visiting our hometown of San Diego but I didn't want to end up flying and paying for a cruise too.

Yeah! Some more girls!!! My daughter is 9 and we will be cruising with her 9 year old cousin in our cabin as well. We also have a 12, 7 and 4 years old cousins (girls), AND 12 and 10 year old boy cousins on this cruise with us.

We are also from San Diego originally (go Padres!), so it is weird to have our cruise ship docking there.....but sssoooo many great things to see/do there for everyone on the ship.

Hope to meet you onboard. :flower3:

This is going to be a great cruise. I'm originally from San Diego, too! If it's sunny, I'm thinking day a on the beach. If not, maybe hideout onboard and pretend we're in some exotic port.

Our DD Sabrina turns 12 a week before the cruise. It looks like we currently have SEVEN DD DISbuddies - (2) DD9, (1) DD10, (2) DD11 and (2) DD12. :jumping1: plus the boys - Lise
