Just curious for those who have been before. Have any of you used the washer/dryer to save on packing just about everything you own? Can't decide what to do about that. Normally, when we go to Disney World we stay at BWV so we have the washer/dryer and we really use them for things such as short/pants.
Robyn

We used the washer/dryer last time and worked out great! I went pretty early in the am and it wasn't busy at all. I'm packing about $15 quarters (I can't remember how much each costs) & some laundry soap .

Pack all you think you want to take walk around the the house go back and take at least a half of it out the case trust me you wont wear it all

Thanks clonefans for mentioning quarters. I completely forgot to get quarters. I need to get to the bank later today or tomorrow. I just hope I don't forget or we'll be the family in the same clothes over and over again.

We're getting very close to 1000!

Any special souvenirs that you plan on getting, either onboard or in port?

Oh a Christmas ornament would be nice! :)

Ok I need money for tips, and dollars for room service tips, and parking at the port money, and internet access money and quarters for laundry (just in case)...........maybe I shouldn't have left work early today..... :rotfl:

This statement was on the Orlando TV channel 6 website as of 4:45 pm today...

WEDNESDAY:-- Miami-based Carnival Cruise Lines says it is considering a federal request that the company use some of its cruise ships as emergency shelters or help in Katrina relief efforts in some other way.

I wonder if FEMA has also made the same request of DCL???

I'm not trying to be a wet blanket but still consider the possibility.

Hello all...

Just got on and lo and behold... 991? WHo would have figured? I thing our little band has been pretty busy... Of course I know I've padded some of my posts too. LOL! :rotfl2:

So - I officially informed my spouse that we do NOT have to leave the house as scheduled so please calm down. I thought she was starting to spurt a little steam this morning so I had to officially relax the plans a bit. I think it's all for the better since I myself was only half done! Heh hee-heee! :rotfl:

So - officially I don't know what I'll bring for reading material. I was going to run some things back to the library that will fall due while we're gone and I was going to glance at the new stacks to see what came in. Then I was going to check out the Nora paper backs just in case I could pick up something to slip my spouse while enroute for reading material. I don't know what I'm getting into - except that I'll probably scan the back cover and a random page or two before selecting anything - the usual routine.

OK... I am officially withdrawing from posting the 1000th posting. I think the honors should go to the ? LISA for enthusiasticly pursuing this fun little target OR possibly the originator of our thread... but who am I to say? It seems like I will see the 100oth posting before I unplug and start traveling tonight.

-----------------------------------------

And while I was drafting the above - I see another posting was made - and i'd say WOW ... That must be pretty extraordinary to have Carnival offer a cruise ship as a part of the disaster relief effort. From a business POV they do have a ship that sails out of New Orleans so that ship is NOT going to be seeing ANY business for several weeks if not months since all it's passengers cannot and will not come to sail. SO if they get any revenue OR buy any good will for their offer and efforts then I'd say it's a really good thing. ALSO - most important - if they can help save lives or provide fresh water to 1000s then this is a great gesture.

Imagine how many 1000s of people could be served if they did not try to make up 3 square meals for all their passengers and crew?- but just emergency meals and drinking water I would guess they could at least serve 10x the number if only providing a couple basic meals to those in need of relief? WOW. It's like a floating city in providing basic services instead of nice fine cusine. :earseek:

Andy and Ginny, hope you're having a great time! Mmmmmmmm BBQ ribs........hope they were good..........Have you ever been to Emeril's? I had never been to City Walk and my son took me there for Mother's Day this year. Emeril's Creme Brulee......YUMMY!

xABEARx ... can you save some left over beef rib bones for our dog? :dog2:

We'll be by on thursday to pick them up and FEDEX them home. OK... maybe not.

And yeah... LISA ... I'm sure Carnival can do it because they have such a huge fleet. If Disney were to take one of their 2 ships out to do it it would be sort of extraordinary.

YOu know... I frankly think this is sort of interesting to see if they will do it. I would not be too surprised at this point. It is a very parctical application of a powerful resource! :wizard:

......

OK.. i got 996... whos' gonna do 997? Not me.... (by that I'm not maneuvering for #1000 pirate captain though I may be at heart!! pirate:

OK... I'll inch us up to #997.... :goodvibes

sO WHO'S GONNA DO 998?
:thewave: :thewave: :thewave: :thewave: :thewave:

I guess I'll be that lucky 1000th poster!! :cool1:
