September 29,2013 - DVC Member Cruise

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas....We did. NOW, we're paying for it with tons of snow!!!!!!
Let WINTER BEGIN:scared1:

Better you than me. We received an amazing gift when our Daughter, Husband and children arrived from California on Christmas morning. Life is really good!

We had an awesome Christmas! We got so many Disney gift cards that we finally booked the Poly for our honeymoon. :yay::yay::yay: I'm so excited! I have always wanted to stay on the monorail loop!

That's awesome Dreamer. You deserve it for all your hard planning work on this Wedding.

Merry Christmas to everyone and Happy New Year!

Happy Holidays! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and I can't wait to get to know everyone in the upcoming year:goodvibes

Well......another 3-5 inches of snow today!! At least it's Saturday and I don't have
to go anywhere. Have plenty of food, drink and a book, I'll sit by and watch it snow.

Where in Central PA are you?

This will be our 3rd Disney Cruise, but our First DVC Member Cruise. It was really hard for us to justify the price increase, but we want to at least try it once. Looking forward to meeting people who understand my Disney insanity!

Welcome karebear06,
This is our first Member Cruise also. Some of us have been on this thread for over a year already... how's that for Disney insanity? You fit right in!

JQ: Happy 1 Year Birthday of your thread (I missed it 2 days ago)pixiedust:

That's ok, I completely missed it. HAPPY NEW YEAR to the thread and everyone on it!

I know we have 2 stops at Castaway Cay, so does that mean we have a sea day or do we still go to Nassau? Also, are there any other differences like food offerings, etc?

This is our 2nd cruise and 1st member cruise. It's funny how many Adults are Disney Crazy and just don't put it out there all the time. I have some friends made over the years at my kids dance and karate classes who are just as nuts as us.

2 sea days and 2castaway days ... No Nassau. Food is still the same as well as evening shows but they have different activities and presentations. I'm going on the January member cruise also. If you like I'll post the navigators when I get back so you can get an idea of what's going to happen

The January Member Cruise is 3 nights, isn't it? Would still like to see the Personal Navigators when you return.

Also, for anyone who went on the Fall 2012 Member Cruise, can you share your Navigators with us?

ACTUALLY 4 DAY CRUISES ARE REALLY 3 FULL DAY CRUISES AND 3 DAY CRUISES ARE REALLY 2 FULL DAY CRUISES. THE FIRST DAY IS ALWAYS DAY IN PORT CANAVERAL SO TRY TO GET THERE AROUND NOON TO GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR FIRST DAY ON THE SHIP. THE SECOND DAY IS AT CC, THIRD DAY IS AT SEA AND LAST DAY IS AT CC.
BY THE WAY ON CC USUALLY AROUND 2pm THEY HAVE 2 FOR 1 DRINKS. THEY DONT USUALLY ANNOUNCE IT:rotfl2::cool1:

My favorite are 2 for 1 drinks at the Sail Away party. Right before they're regular price and as soon as Mickey gets on stage 2 for 1. :)

I second this! I know we have several veteran DVC cruisers from either the 2011 or 2012 Sept Dream Member Cruises. Please share if you can.

to everyone: As we sit on the eve of the New Year and contemplate our resolutions! Feel free to share any that have to do with your disney obsessions!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

HEY.....We complete the "Grand Slam" on April 27, 2013!!! Can't wait.
Don and I need to get in gear, we don't have anything booked for 2014 yet, but will probably book while on the April cruise for one of the ones that include Jamaica.

Got an e-mail today from DCL, welcoming us to the Sept 29th Cruise and giving us the reservation number, YIPPPEEEEEE. We only had a "temporary number" before.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL MY CRUISE FRIENDS. I HOPE YOUR COMING YEAR IS PEACEFUL, PROFITABLE, HEALTHY AND HAPPY. :wizard:

Happy New Year!

What are your recommendations for where to stay at the port the night before? So far my plan is to cruise then head to WDW after the cruise. So staying on property the night before isn't needed and I'd like to get to the ship earlier the ME takes you. Last time we didn't have much time to let my kids or my self to look around before the sail away party, almost missed pulling away, just a little too cramped. Then thinking 7-10 days at the parks. We go to DL's halloween time every year so I'm really trying to take them to MNSSHP and I'd really like to squeeze in Universal for my nerdy Harry Potter side. ;-). Then I run into I want to check out the food and wine festival too. Ugh! I just need alot more money and time. Haha!
