CHAMPAGNE GIRLS "BEAUTIES AND THE BEASTS EVENT"...... We now have 24 people on the list for the champagne tasting. I spoke to Disney and they say we MUST have a min. of 25 for the tasting. They said if we don't get 25 to do the tasting that we can have an open bar. There would be a fee of $13.75 pp and you can have unlimited drinks during the hour we are having the social. We are looking at Sep. 30 (a sea day) at 3:00 PM. So ... we either need 1 more to sign up for the tasting or we will go to plan B and do the social with unlimited drinks for the $13.75....... thoughts?

I am in either way! If we don't get one more person, I'm happy to do the social option. I've got my shirt and boa, so give me a time and place and I'll be there.

Wow, Michele!

That's an outstanding trip tip that I've never heard about before for drinks.

On our last cruise the weather was horrible one day and I was the only one in my family (and possibly the entire ship) NOT sea sick. I went up to the drink station without thinking about how I was going to carry back three cups of Sprite for my family. Needless to say, it was a very difficult walk back to our cabin with the ship rockin' and rollin'! I wish I would have had one of those fast food drink holders that day!

Thanks! I drink a ton of diet coke, so sometimes I use all the spots in the tray just for my drinks.

Personally I like the open bar better. I am more likely to have multiple mixed drinks than champagne, and its a little less money to boot. My only ask is that we can still wear tiaras and boas... because that is just awesome

question about the open bar hour...my hubby to be probably won't want to drink so is there any way he can be included to socialize, but not charged for the open bar? I can see him possibly wanting 1 beer in the span of that time and we'd rather pay out of pocket for it then be charged 13.75 for one beer

Let me know, because if it would be a secluded area where only those who paid can get in to socialize we might bow out.

Chances are that they will require a ticket to get in. This is because of it being an open bar they would not otherwise know who paid and who did not. In the past we have been able to get them to let us bring in a non drinking partner but I can't promise this will happen. The beer would cost you about $8. anyway... So .. $13.75 is not a bad deal for a really fun time and a few drinks. I do hope you will both decide to join us. We always have such a good time....

They are all in photobucket and I was told to resize them to 100% and then download them, which I have done and they are now all in my photobucket account. PROBLEM IS - when i try to "Order" pictures, the images don't fit 4x6 or 5x7 or even 8x10. I tried to download to my computer from there but it won't let me!!!

From photobucket you can either email it to yourself or you could right click on the picture and choose to "save image as" then save the file on your computer. Not sure if that works on Mac.....

We were double checking how much alcohol we could bring back from the cruise and I thought others might be wondering too so here's a link that explains it. http://www.tabc.state.tx.us/poe/how_much_can_i_bring_back.asp

Last time we cruised we did so out of Florida. I didn't realize Texas has a tax and an administrative fee on what you bring back.

My SIL made theirs without sewing it. She used a really strong glue. She e-mailed me a picture and it looks fabulous! I've also seen ones that look like purses or bags or pencil bags clipped together. Some people are really creative and can think outside the box. I googled fish extenders and found a lot of images and some blogs with instructions.

I'm not sure how that works , but of the five cruises out of Galveston since 2006 (last one was Feb 2011), we have always come back with our limit on booze and we've never had to pay going through customs. Crossing the border at the legal crossing about four years ago we did have to pay tax on the alcohol. We've never had to pay returning from a cruise in Galveston. I hope this is not the return trip where we experience something new going through customs.
