September 29, 2012 - Ropin' Some Magic in the Western Caribbean

Oh wow!! Your FE is so cute! Did you really make it with glue? I'm going to attempt to make ours this weekend and I'm a non-sewer. lol

Thanks. Yes, E6000 glue. You can get it at JoAnn's. I do not sew so this stuff has saved me many times! :)

I also bought a thick material. I think it was called Duck cloth. It worked really well with the glue.

People are just going to give out their gifts sometime during the week. It is really difficult to plan a day when we don't have Navigators to use to plan our activities. I don't plan on leaving the ship, so I will probably give out during a port day.

Also, some of us are in more than one group. They might want to split up when they are passing out their gifts or just do it in one fell swoop!

Hi, Everyone--Can't wait that we'll be leaving one week from today to drive down to Galveston!!

Just checking to see who we should be keeping an eye out for at the Tropicante in Costa Maya! DH and I will be there with my parents, our DD, 5, and our DS, 3. I know several people have mentioned making reservations or thinking about going further up in the string, but I thought it would be fun to see everyone in one place :).

We'll be there! Can't wait for the cheap massages!

I am a non-sewer also, and I managed to make our FE's. If you do a search on "no sew fe" a few sets of instructions will come up. The ones I made didn't use glue though. I used Heat-n-Bond No Sew and ironed it all together. I had to ask for help at JoAnn Fabric since I wasn't sure what all the supplies even were, but once I got going it was really not that hard, and I'm happy with how they turned out. We have 2 rooms so I made 2. Good luck! I'm sure yours will turn out great.

I made ours and I think the pockets are a bit small so I added a hook at the bottom. You could do something like that instead of making a whole new one. Then hang a bag or something off the hook if you need to.

I think they are suppose to be 8 in wide. I don't remember the length.

There's a picture of mine with the hook on our trip report thread if you want to see it....

THanks okay I measured it and its 7 inches wide. BUt I am thinking some of the gifts I got for the kids are not going to fit in those pockets. Guess I better bring some clips to clip them to their fish extenders.. lol Guess I will add a bigger bag at the bottom in case others are like me and didn't think about the size of gifts. LOL

You can also get E6000 glue at Walmart, Michaels, Hobby Lobby. It is wonderful glue! I use mine a lot....on a lot of different things. It is what many people use to glue crystals to things. It really holds up on many surfaces--but it is permanent!

Look what they did to Mickey!

Thanks ladies!! I'm leaving in a few to go pick up the supplies and I'll be looking for the glue for sure.

I'm glad you mentioned this again. Yes, we are planning to meet for lunch at 12:00 on Monday at Parrot Cay. I have a list of those who said they were interested in the homeschool chat. I'll try to leave a reminder note in your FE when we're on the ship...or if something changes I'll be sure to let you know too. I'm writing everyone's room numbers down.

Here's the list I have. If there are any other Homeschoolers out there who want to join in let me know.

taunya80....can you post your room #? I don't have it on my list.

I've got about 15 projects going at once. I finally got the DGS's pillowcases embroidered, but I am missing the mickey ears I wanted on there. I'm out of time so we'll go with their names and the character signatures.

Has anyone had experience folding up the pillowcases so that the characters sign in the area you would like to see signatures?

Does anyone have experience using the shampoo and soap products overed in our cabins? I heard there was some change in what is provided and I wanted to make sure there was enough product to provide for the family, or should we bring our own? I always bring my own hair stuff, but I'm thinking mainly of our guys.

We are excited, just a bit frantic. I'll be happier when I'm through with work late Wednesday and I can focus on the vacation ahead. :cool1:

The shampoo and soap products we got on our last Disney cruise (2009) were pretty big. I'm sure they'll bring you more if you use them up too. I'm not bringing any shampoo or soap. It seems like I'm bringing everything else though!

I started packing today...wow, there's a lot of stuff to pack. I'm beginning to feel overwhelmed. I'm doing the kids laundry now so I can start packing their suitcase. :laundy:

I wish I had a fairy godmother right about now! pixiedust:

We're watching The Chipmunks Chipwrecked tonight to give the boys an idea of what the cruise will be like!! I can't believe we'll be on the boat in a week. Yippee!!! :beach:

I just packed up some bags of candy to hand out to the kids club and guest service employees. I hear they appreciate a little treat now and then! Everything is coming together and we are so excited to be on board in just a week!

Ok now I don't fill so overwhelmed. I went shopping today with my list of things need to get before Cruise. Got it all! Man all those little things add up! LOL I did forget the shoe organizer for the bathroom door. I will get that tomorrow. Can not wait for our cruise! I looked at pictures online of the ship at Galveston today. They added a cowboy hat to the ship since its in Texas.

Im going to family's house tomorrow to print the transfer for the red tshirts and I cant find the file Piper sent me!!!!!!!!!!! Can someone please send it to my email!?!?!

my email is - lyndsay.crowe at yahoo.com
