September 29, 2012 - Ropin' Some Magic in the Western Caribbean

Thanks. Time is something I have a lot of now that I am retired and don't drive anymore (except for my ECV--which can be a speedy little thing!) We do have lots to do here, but I have been having some medical difficulties and haven't been able to get out as much as usual lately. The doctor called me and she found a possible cause on one of my tests--I go back on the 29th. I am keeping my fingers crossed!!

My fingers are crossed for you!

I've been searching for ideas and my head is spinning!

For anyone who's been on a Disney cruise, is there enough for adults to do and be entertained? Especially at night? I worry about my DH getting bored.

I got a ton of ideas from http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1980639

and Pinterest.

I'm curious about the entertainment as well. Since it'll just be my future hubs and I, but we love all things disney so I think we'll be good :goodvibes

Also, from what I've been reading they have late comedy shows and cabaret acts in adult-only bars or lounges. I know there's dancing and bands, but my man is not into dancing AT ALL!!

Does anyone know about theme nights on our cruise? I read on some other threads that they have a "pirate night". Is pirate theme night on ALL the Disney cruise ships? Basically, do we need pirate dress up stuff for this cruise?

They do have a Pirate Night on all the ships. I made my sister and I tunic-length peasant shirts and coordinating sashes. We will just wear them with black pants.

They will also have a formal night and a semi-formal night. Often little girls wear princess dresses to these (from what I understand.) My sister and I are probably wear what we wore to her son's wedding for the formal night and a nice outfit for the semi-formal one.

I think that is all the themes.

I don't know what your DH interests are, but I found that there were almost too many options. On a seven nighter, I still missed out on some of the activities I wanted to check out.

Wow the last time I looked at this thread it was only 1 page! I updated the spreadsheet with our info - looking forward to the FE exchange :goodvibes

We are so excited to be going on this cruise! Its me and my two girls. No allergies here that we know of. I love hot pink and my 3 year old girl loves pink, too. I have a 1 year old little one and she will be in a size 12-18 month. I'm excited to see what you have in store for all of us :-)

I know we don't have a complete list for FE yet, or how many groups and so on, because it's super early....BUT I'm gonna get started on fe stuff because it passes the time while I'm waiting for the trip!

Also, I plan on doing quite a bit of crafty things for the fe exchange so the earlier I start the better :goodvibes

The questions I have for those participating....

1) if I buy treats, are there any allergies I should be aware of? I don't want to buy anything that'll go to waste....and I won't be buying this stuff til MUCH closer to the cruise, but while I'm asking questions, I thought I'd ask now :rotfl:

2) From all females/girls I want to know favorite colors...I will try to accomodate as best I can if I can get some requests :)

3) For young ones under 2, I want to make something special and need to know clothing size.

PM me or post here.

Note to Piper...my fiancee and I will probably want to be in both fe groups, depending on the number of participants/cabins

We're up to 12 cabins right now on the FE list. If you want to participate, add your info!

Someone told me about a Hawaiian shirt night. Does anyone know about this and if it is going to be wise for me to make my hubby bring a hawaiian shirt? haha

I don't see any post for our cruise. Am I just missing it? Reading about the FE's, but don't see a sign up for it. Someone help this new cruiser!

We are in! Homeschooling family of 4. Thomas will be 11 by the cruise and April will be 13. We've done lots of Disney World trips, but this will be the first cruise for any of us. Very excited.

We just discovered the whole fish extender stuff so we will be ready. Every homeschool mom needs another project on her to do list...... (Think I'll get April to make it for me)

I saw that somewhere too. My hubby has one, but my kids really don't want him in it! LOL

No allergies in our group. April loves bright green or bright orange. I like teal or any other color for that matter. :) Can't wait to see what our surprise will be.

Thank you all for the responses, I made quite a few "surprises" today while watching Star Wars with the boys...I'm really pleased with the outcome :goodvibes

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend...and just think Wednesday we'll be 7 months away!!!!! :woohoo::woohoo:

I don't think anything has been officially posted. Also since this is a new itinerary, we can't use other cruises as an example. I just know that there is one formal night, one semi-formal night and one pirate night.....not which nights they will occur. (And that is only based on what happens during other 7 night cruises!)

Hopefully, as soon as anyone finds out, they will post on this thread so we will all know!

When will we have a final count/list of the FE group?
I know we are still a long ways away from our trip but I was just wondering.
