11 more days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dance3: :yay:

The next set of luggages I'll buy next time will be the ones with a built in weighing scale (found this while reading AA magazine on the plane).. I hate to be guessing and it's such a hassle trying to put it on a scale at home. Domestic flights restrict you to a maximum of 50 lbs and international is 75 lbs? I forget...

Trying to keep track of luggages... 1 big one, 1 medium, my DD's carryon and backpacks for me and DH. I really don't want to pack too much 'coz I know I might be living in my shorts and tank tops for 7 days.

MNSSHP: I hope it won't be raining by then... see you at the Castle at 6:30pm! DD will be in her princess aurora costume princess:

Gr00vyChc :hippie:

About baskets... I ordered the medium sand pail basket for my 5 year old. She's putting juice boxes, movie candy, and bags of popcorn for the movie in there. I think there are some other snacks too. I think she'll get a lot of use out of the sand toys and the snacks and juices will be great for excursions.

For my two older kids (11 & 13) I got the neat mesh backpacks Shirley offers. They are pictured at the very bottom of her homepage. I thought they'd be great for excursions. They can carry their underwater cameras and stuff in there. They'll be stuffed with regular disposable cameras to use in the clubs or wherever they wish. Then they'll have some of their favorite canned sodas to use in the room or on excursions. Also got boxes of their favorites movie candy and some popcorn as well.

I really didn't need this extra expense, but I think it'll be a huge, nice, bonvoyage surprise for them. I think the med. sand toy basket was $37 and the two mesh backpacks were $27 with the cameras and goodies we got. She's tying the two backpacks together to save us a bit on the delivery charges. I'm not even telling DH that we're getting them so that it's a nice surprise for everyone. Hope they like 'em!

Almost down to single digits, guys!!! :cool1:  :woohoo: :yay: :cheer2:

It's 50 lbs now. But LAWalz23 was saying when they've gone over the weight, they just check in with the Porter and tip him handsomely! :rotfl: I'm one of those paranoid people and would worry we wouldn't have a porter to check us in (that's happened before) and then I'd be one of those people distributing weight while the really long line of people grows angrier and angrier. I've been in lines where poor souls are scrambling to move the weight around. This one lady had to carry an armload of stuff away and said she'd have to get a shopping bag from one of the stores or something! :scared1: So, when we pack for the cruise, the scale will be close by and we'll just have to go that route. And I may pack an extra duffel bag just in case our scale is wrong and they start barking at us to lessen the weight.

Bags of popcorn? Like microwave bags or what?
I think anyone surprised with a basket/bag would be really happy and excited. It's kind of funny we mom's go planning this stuff and don't even care if we get one for ourselves. Just getting one for the loves of our lives seem to be gift enough!
I tried to call this morning but it went to an answering machine. I'm guessing they're off today so I will call tomorrow. I'm not telling DH because 1) he'll talk me out of it and 2) I'm surprising him with one. :hippie:

OMG!!! I forgot about PJ's for DS for the PJ party :scared1: guess I better be heading to the store for that.

For the bag stuffing...I noticed they have a lot of planned activities that go on in the promenade lounge..do you think we need to find somewhere else to stuff?

I LOVE the pics that people have taken with their group...
Can we take a group picture in one of our dismeets?

I'm packing some goodies for my DD in the luggage that she doesn't know about. I'm trying to keep the cost down for my "Shutters" expense! :scared1:

Question about popcorn: Do they have microwaves onboard? I'm guessing not.. but I had to ask. My DH absolutely NEEDS popcorn when watching movies.. I thought maybe I could bring those microwaveables and just ask a CM to pop it for us???

Anyone else nervous about getting a grouchy waiter or being seated with a not so friendly family? or not being able to use the verandah because of a next door neighbor smoking like a chimney??? If this happens... can we switch to a different room???

I am very very concerned about dinner, so concerned that I am thinking of going on the first day and requesting a single table. :confused3

So true! My joy is seeing them happy. :goodvibes

The popcorn is bagged popcorn (like smartfood white cheddar popcorn, but not that brand). My youngest loves that stuff and I figure it'll save us some at the movies or from buying so many snacks while we're at the beaches. I was really impressed by the variety they had available and how great they were at requests. For instance, I got DD Pepsi and Dr. Pepper, but DS rootbeer and Dr. Pepper. Great service in ordering! :thumbsup2

I'm pretty sure the Wonder sails out today, so they may have just had it going to an answering machine as they were busy getting orders out. Maybe you'll have better luck later today or maybe tomorrow. :)

I love the basket idea, but I'm too cheap to order one!!! Maybe I can make them one stow it in our luggage. Can't wait to hear what DH has to say about that one!!

Thanks for the idea on the autograph books (the spiral notebooks). I was planning on making my own also, with the mini scrapbooks that you can buy at Michael's or something and let the boys decorate it with stickers and stamps. Found some cute Disney stickers at Dollar Tree. What a buy!!! I goggle disney autograph books and someone had a great idea about autographing index cards then putting the index cards in one of those cheap photo albums next to their kid's pictures. Maybe I will do that... still deciding!

Zane or Pauline.....I know how you feel. On both our previous cruises, we requested a single table and got it. This cruise, we have not made that request.
Sooooo....Zane or Pauline (or anyone else on our thread).........do you have early or late dinner seating ? If late seating, maybe we can request a table together ? We're a family of four (ds not coming with us). I assure you....we are NOT grouchy. Just let me know......we can request eachother. :yay:

Shannon,
Meant to say that I am very glad your children don't have chicken pox. Hope they're feeling better soon if they're not already ! :cool1:

I am nervous about MNSSHP.......so far, for our past 3 parties we have lucked out tremendously. I hope party #4 is not going to be any different. Meeting at 6:30 pm at the Castle ? This sounds good. Maybe we can get a quick hello and picture of all of us in ? So we'll start a list of DIS'ers meeting at the MNSSHP. I'll start....just copy and paste the list as it goes, or maybe the "keeper of the lists" on page 1 (Sue) could add this little meet in there ?

DIS Meet :
MNSSHP Castle meet on Sept 28 @ 6:30 pm

Maria: I've added my name on the MNSSHP list
We opted for late seating.. how do I find out exactly what time that is, 8:15 or 8:30???? We're a family of 3 :)

I'm just putting together a little something for DD too.. I have a Miscellaneous luggage that'll have costumes, my DD's birthday party stuff, and formal clothes. The other luggage will be our cruise clothes. I figured I'll spend a lot for shutters, souvenirs, and WDW. I'm thinking of treating me and DH to a couples massage and that is $$$ :sad2:

I did that on our last trip to WDW - I got a spiral bound book of index cards. It was easy to carry and a good size for the characters to sign.

Cool ! Thanks for adding Pauline....it'll be good to know exactly how many of us will be there that night.

As for the exact time of late seating, I don't think you know until you check-in and get your KTTW card. Someone correct me if I'm wrong ?

As for the topic of luggage.....how do u all pack your formal and semi formal dresses ? We only have one garmet bag and it's not going to be enough to get all of our cruise dresses/suits into. I tried looking for garmet bags at : Ross, Marshalls, Sears, JC Penney and Burlington Coat Factory. Nada. Lots of luggage, but no garmet bags. Do they not make these anymore ?

I'm doing The Doc Dance!!! :cool1:  :yay: :cheer2:

Went out the front door and they were laying on the step!!! I assume they came yesterday...we usually go through the garage.
I'm very excited!! It's OFFICIAL now! :cool1:

Pouring from 7-9pm is an oddity in central Florida. Usually the downpours are short-lived, so if you can find a dry spot to wait it out, it should be completely done within 30 minutes. We've had some odd weather in Orlando this week (I work in downtown, and we had hail twice in 20 minutes just two days before MNSSHP, and it poured like crazy for over an hour), but we have a high coming in. Hopefully that will end the funny weather, and you guys will have a great time. If it does rain, it should be fairly short-lived, then you can go back to the fun! The only good thing about having a rain storm towards the beginning of the night is that it can scare away the folks that haven't bought tickets yet, and hopefully it won't be so crowded ;). If you go prepared, though, you'll have fun, and definitely have stories to share with your family for quite some time to come! I think that's true for any type of vacation, though - if you go expecting perfection, something as simple as weather can completely ruin it for you; if you go expecting to have fun no matter what, you'll have a great time. Don't worry about it, you'll have a great time!

Yay for you!!!!!!!! :cheer2:

Here's hoping that ours will arrive tomorrow! :wizard:

Maria: We were thinking of bringing a garment bag, but I'm just going to fold DH's suit and our dresses neatly, hoping it won't wrinkle, but if they do, I'll send them out to be pressed.

Where can we go and sit at a table put bags together, while drinking? We need the input of some non-virgins for this one!

Yes, we should definitely take a picture. I love the group pictures from the first meet and it's usually a bunch of women. You know some DH said to another DH, "Why don't we get a picture of this crazy bunch of women who have ignored us for the past year planning this vacation?!"

So true! My joy is seeing them happy. :goodvibes

I think I will call from work tomorrow so I can discuss it with them without having to whisper and what not. It sounds like it will be more detailed than calling and giving them my room number and credit card! But I'm super excited now!

You're so lucky!!! That is exciting. I'm really worried about our docs because our UPS/FedEx guy likes to leave stuff on our front porch. I'm worried someone is going to steal our package. :sad2:
