September 29, 2007 - Magic

Just ordered gift baskets for the family :cool1: from Shirley of The Perfect Gift. She was awesome, very helpful and knowledgeable. She is going to tie 2 baskets (have 6) together to hold down the shipping costs for us and she is a DISer (active on the cruise boards)! :thumbsup2

I ordered my two girls' baskets yesterday from Shirley. She was sooooooo sweet! She wouldn't let me get off the phone without giving me her personal cell phone number just in case there was bad weather or we got lost or something. What a sweetheart!!

Were the baskets really expensive? I've gone back and forth so many times on this. I didn't want a lot of snack food stuff because I figure we'll be full with the food from the cruise. If you don't mind me asking, what is going in your baskets?

Anyone who ordered baskets can you please help me! Thank you!

Jac - You are so funny, you're killing me. First off, let me say I understand the whole sneaker thing. My oldest DD is all about her Rocket Dogs and Roxy and K-9's and Converse. So, we go flip-flop/sandal shopping today and she tells me she will "settle" for "Rainbows". Have you heard of these? What a joke! 50 bucks baby! :scared1: This child has lost her mind, she's only 12, what am I going to do with her!! :sad2: I will gladly throw her Rainbows at your son (or into the ocean!) if I see him in his sneakers! :rotfl:

Great idea about spying on the other threads, I never thought of that! I'm going over to check on them right now! :lmao:

We have our boarding garb picked out too! It's the Mickey Hawaiian matching family outfits. Can you say...Geek Squad!! :rotfl2: But we can tie some lime green ribbon to backpacks, carry-on, etc. We are all still meeting at 3 though on boarding day, right?

Last I heard we are having the "stuff and drink" party on Monday at Noon in Lumiere's, is that still a go?

Hello, everyone!

Just checking in since we haven't posted lately.

We're so ready for this cruise! :sail: Just think, 2 weeks from tonight where you will be and what you will be doing!

I've been trying to think of a goodie bag donation that would be different from the ones already chosen.:confused3 I'll keep thinking....

We'll be at CI&S the night before. Is anyone planning a meet there? We'll probably eat dinner at Grill's and then hang out at the pool.

We have lime green wristbands from previous cruises and I will try to wear one for the first day or two. I'll try to get the rest of my family to wear them, too.

I'm looking forward to meeting you all! Can't wait to get on that boat! It's my "happy place".

If memory serves me correctly (and after I Google'd Rainbow sandals), those have been around for awhile? They look very, very familiar. I think my Dad use to wear those when I was a kid. :lmao: I may have to call him in a few and ask because when I saw those sandals just now, I thought "DAD?" And thank you for agreeing to throw something at DS if you see him on the beach in tennis shoes!

I think a lot of people are wearing those Mickey Hawaiian shirts. We'll be wearing white t-shirts that have a Disney character on them but we'll each have a different character. DS will have Goofy, DH will have Grumpy and DD and I have a few to choose from so I may be in Tinker Bell, Cinderella or Alice and DD may be in Ariel or Belle. But DD and I will probably have green ribbon tied around our pony tails. OH!! And DD and I will each have a Disney back pack - mine will be Minnie Mouse.

Lunch is at noon so we'd be meeting to stuff at 11. I don't think we've come up with a place to stuff, yet. We'd need a place we can spread out and order a drink!

:surfweb: Hi All,
Just so you know this is what I wear, beside my green shirt with blue stripes and my green castaway cay shirt T-shirt.

This will be in the center of my straw hat or on my lanyard...

Now I will have the right dates and cruise on it, this is a leftover from my last cruise.. This is not a big door sign it in made from a 4x6 magnetic card..
have a nice night,

hey dewysgirl we too are wearing Mickeys tropical matching outfits from the disney store, blue print?

Grammy, that's awesome! We will definately be able to recognize each other! I'll be looking for you with your two little darlins!

Jamie, We are at CI&S and so is JDBlair - We were planning on Grills or Rusty's. Haven't decided yet.

Disboarders.. we're #1!!! :cheer2:

Ok, so I've packed 1 suitcase. I was going to send a box but it said somewhere on the boards that it has to be 12x12x6.. OMG when I realized hwo big or small for that matter those actual dimensions were... I could not fit anything in there!! so I've decided to designate 1 suitcase for the stuff I was going to ship.. more room for souvenirs when we get back :thumbsup2

I'm with you Jac, I already have our embarkation day clothes picked out and sadly, they're not lime green.. but I will put a ribbon on my DD's hair to identify us!

Yay!!! DH has arranged for transportation for us
We're renting a car from MCO on the 27th and dropping it off at the port on the 29th ($53 total) and then renting a car from the port on the 6th and then returning it that afternoon ($47 total). Our original plan was towncar pick up drop off for $260!

Where and when are we meeting for MNSSHP again? 6:30pm? Cinderella's castle? I'm not buying extra candy for the movie theatre since DD will have plenty from MNSSHP. popcorn::

Where are my docs?????????????

Okay, called Dad and yeap, he still wears them. He's been wearing them since the 80's. :lmao: :rotfl2: Maybe you could have talked DD out of them by telling her men in their 50's wear these shoes?? :lmao:

Hi Jamie!
We're at CI&S but won't have a car so we're thinking of ordering a pizza and letting the kids burn off energy at the pool. Our flight arrives around 4:30 so I think we'll be at the pool around 7?

DH was making us shirts until he discovered you need an ink-jet printer to print off the decals and we only have laser. It sucks being up to date with technology! :rotfl2:

I really wish DH would agree to a rental car but he will not budge. So, I have to pay the $200 for a limo! :sad2: But I'm sure I won't be complaining when the kids see we have a limo and I don't have to listen to DH screaming at me trying to find our way to the line to rent the car - driving out of the airport - driving to the hotel. Yeah, that $200 is worth not listening to him!! :lmao:

Fellow DISBoarders/Cruisers...We need ideas on where to stuff these goody bags!!

Whatever happened to David and Monica (Disneynut1955)? If memory serves me correctly they have BOTH the Roy and Walt suites...wouldn't that be "sweet" to have the "Stuff and Drink" there!!! (Well a girl can dream, can't she?:rotfl:)

Haven't seen them in ever! I read his TR last year and man, he got flamed real bad. I'm not sure what was up with that, I think people were jealous or something. His TR was very interesting and definitely provided a peek in to things we common folk :rotfl2: won't have the opportunity to see/do on this ship.

:wave2: Me again,
here is a quick shot of Not so grumpy grammy, wearing her name tag..

We are taking a van because we don't want to drive and having 7 people plus luggage we would need two cars!:goodvibes

To me they were very reasonably priced and Shirley will ask you about a favorite character and then make suggestions. She can probably do whatever price range you choose but I got a small sand pail and sand toys, (can't fit them in suitcase) a plush, soda, candy and snacks.

He was banned from the DIS awhile back :confused3 around the time the CA cruises were announced. He started his own website but it closed down not too long ago...I think he ended up canceling on our cruise though because I had asked him about it and I think he said they had given up the suite. They orignally had it booked for the whole month of Sept. I wish he was my dad :rotfl2:

I think someone said the promenade lounge would be a good place to meet to do the bags and have a drink??

I got the medium sand pail for my son ( candy, juice, soda, sand toys, etc..) and a disney tote filled with movie candy, sodas, and water, and some other things for my sister and an extra sand pail for around $90.00 total with delivery and all. Can't wait to see their faces.
