September 29, 2007 - Magic

Ok, so while I was at work yesterday the postman must have delivered my order from Oriental Trading. How do I find this out? Because after my kids are in bed and I'm lounging on the couch watching tv, my DH walks in sporting the pirate hat I'd ordered him!pirate: I almost fell off the couch laughing! :rotfl2:
Then I ran to the bedroom to look through the items for the goody bags, the pirate costumes I ordered my dd's, and to put on my own pirate hat and eye patch. Now, I've started my "cruise box" with things I need to pack. It's really gonna happen!! pirate: pirate: :woohoo: :woohoo:

:rotfl2: You need a picture of that !

There are things that happen each day that makes this cruise seem more and more real !

:confused3 Hi All,
We've slipped to the second page, just a little nudge back to the first..

Welcome to the club!! At first, I started with a small little gift bag of "things for the cruise" and now we've moved up to a big plastic tote!!!! Good times!!! :woohoo:

Gesh...this thread moves VERY fast...you don't look at it for two days, then bam! You're 10 pages behind, lol....getting close to the two month mark!!!! *Does a little happy dance*

Hey Jan, I thought that I was the only one on the DIS who wasn't wowed by Palo. Not all Palo's fault, I just never seem to have good luck there. One time for dinner I was just not hungry so it was a real waste. Another time for brunch I was sick with a fever and sinus infection and last time we tried brunch it was so darn hot in there I had sweat running down me. It was so uncomfortable that it ruined the experience. I figure that we will have plenty of time to try brunch on the WBPC repo. I am not even interested in dinner. IMO the dining rooms are just as good. And if you go to Palo you miss out on the themed dinner for the evening. (Unless you do both like grumpy-gramps did:woohoo: ) Our waiter also brought us a chocolate souffle that we didn't order. One bite was enough for both DH and me. We thought it was awful and I am a chocolate lover.

So for those of you who don't get Palo ressies all is not lost. You will have a great time in the dining rooms!:thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 Well said Ragdoll, Well said!! We shall see what the PC Repo cruise brings -- maybe I will try the brunch, but for now, it is not a priority. I only wanted to reassure the others that I would not be fighting them in the PALO's line after boarding the ship.

I leave tomorrow for Cozumel. 21 of us from my church are going to build a church with the congregation there. I will be back July 28. I hope there is not too much to get caught up on. (Ragdoll--same info will be posted on the Repo site so you will note the duplication.)

Are you talking about just the stickers or the bags? If you would like to contribute in any way you are more then welcome to, if you just want to do cash I can order something from you when I place my order. If not that's fine too, totally up to you but we should have some xtra bags and if an adult wants one that's fine with me :thumbsup2

I would like magnets of these designs

if they are being made. That is what I want to contribute to so that all our DISBOARDERS can get some if there is a need for funding.

I am making stickers out of these but if you would like to make magnets out of them for everyone your welcome to, that is ok with me. Glad everyone liked them, I thought they were really neat when I first saw them! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Thanks for the good send-off!

When I reread this I saw that you were making stickers. My method of making magnets is to print them on paper and glue them to advertising CDs and then onto magnets from the craft store. I still function at a low tech level. So I will do that for my door. Thanks for the work. I saved the designs with the updated spelling. Actually, I doubt if the Pirates spelled it the same way twice.

"See" you all next week.

Just got back from a short shopping trip with DS. He starts school Monday and needed some shorts. Got him a swim suit for the cruise! Also got DD a couple of Pirate shirts for the cruise.pirate: Why they weren't in my size is beyond me?? :confused3 But then also went over to Target and bought her 2 Princess dresses. I didn't want to spend a whole lot of money on dresses she'll likely destroy so Target had dresses for $20 and that works for me. That way if she does tear them or spill something on them at dinner, I won't go  :scared1: !

Guess I better go add the new loot to the cruise tote!! pirate:

I got the Pirate shirts at Kohl's, too! The shirts I got DD were in the girl's dept. They're a little big on her since she's just a toddler but that's okay!! I didn't look in the juniors dept for me. Maybe I should go back? :cutie: But then again, DS already makes fun of the 2 Jack Sparrow shirts I have. :rotfl2:

So in preparation of my forthcoming visit to Palo, I decided to make the famous Palo Chocolate Souffle tonight. :cool1:

I've been wanting to make it ever since Disney released the recipe several years ago. A few weeks ago I bought a set of six souffle cups and then I made Tracy run all around town getting the ingredients (Dutch Chocolate, Heavy Cream, etc.).

It took both Tracy and I to man the stove and kitchen to prepare these things due to the complexity of the instructions. :scared1:

Tracy told me that perhaps if I get my Palo Chocolate Souffle kick then we don't have to go while we're on the boat. :sad2:

Well, needless to say, we will be going to Palo on the boat because they just didn't turn out the same way that I remembered it to be. I remembered it having a little more substance to it. The ones I made tonight seemed to have 95% air and 5% substance. Oh well, at least I tried. :confused3

I've posted a picture below of what the creation ended up looking like.

:thumbsup2 All baking is trial and error. The fact you tried is awesome. Maybe next time you'll do something a little different to add more substance? I'm eager to try the souffle's (in Palo - not yours. Utah is a little far for me to travel!) myself but know some people come away disappointed. If I'm disappointed, I'll just order a different yummy treat and be thankful I can!! :woohoo:

I would not recommend making this...like Trent said, it took two of us manning pans on the stove-top! I'm not a big fan of Palo or the souffle, so I was hoping that Trent would get his fill if we made it at home...no such luck! I guess we'll be visiting Palo, despite that fact that it's to froo-froo for me!

I understand souffles are very hard to make therefore, will not be attempting one myself! ;) My Dad loves to bake and is extremely anal about it (throws away pie crusts if they don't roll out to his exact specifications, while cussing it out for not cooperating) and I think he once made a souffle. I don't think he's made one since. That tells me a lot.

Well, needless to say, we will be going to Palo :confused3

Hey, all I can say is a BIG Giant E for effort! Children, never attempt to try this stunt at home! :rotfl:
Tracy and Trent, I've got a great idea! Let's post this pic over on the food pic thread...tell them this is the Palo Souffle everyone raves about...:rotfl2: Then, we'll sit back and wait for the reaction! popcorn:: :scared1:
