September 29, 2007 - Magic

I can really make you :scared1: ! Blockbuster was selling, at some point, previously viewed movies for $5 and I got POTC (original) over a year ago and STILL haven't seen it. :headache:

:welcome: Mommaluvsdis, glad to see more people joining us. We will probably also be on second seating. We have first now but will probably be changing it. I had second on our last cruise with DD and it seemed to work out well every night. She ate and fell asleep at the table , then I was able to enjoy my dinner.

I also haven't seen POTC I have tried to watch the first one the last 2 nights and fell asleep half way through both times.

Late dinner seating here... We've done it on our first two DCL trips and, while it hinders late night partying, it's nice to relax after the day and have a later dinner.

I go away for the weekend, come back and there is like 4 pages of new posts...I'm going to lose my job :woohoo: reading all this stuff! :scared1: Some points:
  • We still haven't seen popcorn:: POTC pirate: and I am feeling deprived!
  • We have early seating (6, 8 & 9 year olds....)
  • Also having problems deciding on St. Martin excursions that don't 'include biology lessons' :rotfl2:
  • Welcome Steve & Denise!!! :wave2:

I've given up  on trying to count this! :teacher:

I am going to pretend I haven't read comments like, "I haven't seen POC" or "I fell asleep while trying to watch". pirate: I just refuse to believe such hog-wash! :sad2: But I will say this - if you haven't seen the movies, I highly recommend doing so before we go on the cruise so you can participate in the Pirate party. Because I firmly believe there should be some rule that if you haven't seen the movies, you can't come to the party! party: As of today, you have 116 days to watch all 3 movies! popcorn:: That's one movie every 38 days if we need to put things in perspective! :hippie:

 So, does anyone know if DIS groups have "linked" ressies to the point that the entire group sits near each other in the restaurant? I think tables can hold up to 12 but I also understand they can sit people near each other. I guess this is something for the DCL vets to answer!

Okay, must go now because the thought of future DCL people not seeing one of the BEST movies ever made is just making me so sad and sick! :rolleyes1 :headache: :sad2: :flower3:

Hi Jay, thanks for the updated list! Both of my daughters have celebrated a birthday now, so when you update for the next time they are 12 and 9.

When we cruise my DD9 will be just a couple of months shy from turning 10 so I am going to hopefully persuade "The Lab" into letting her be in with her sister(12). Last year on the Western we asked them about letting her in but the age difference at that time was a bigger span. She had just turned 8 and they wouldn't let her bump up to the 10-12 group, fully understandable but this time, I hope they will.

I see we have some other 10-12'ers in our group too. :woohoo:

Sorry I haven't got to post much lately but I just have to share my excitement...I was able to book a AKV (animal kingdom villas) savannah view room for the night we return  I figured all the members had already taken all the rooms since they are so limited right now. :cool1:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: And I'm still going to the Pirate Party!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Me too! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Congrats! Out of curiousity, do you remember what they shares at the new AK place were going for in December? Now dh is thinking he wants to add on shares but I think the price has jumped up. :headache:

Well, I got home from work and our passports had arrived. I can't believe my wife didn't tell that on one of the five telephone conversations that we had during the day.

That just means we're that much closer to going on the Mickey Boat.

After reviewing the passport (the first I've ever had) I was surprised at how many different security features it has. I was pretty impressed.

Just a few more weeks until we can start the Palo and shore excursion reservations...

The price was $101.00 but June 4th it went to $104.00. However there was a promotion for 100 pts or more. It was like $10.00 off pp or something like that but I think it may have ended when the price went up. I read something on the DVC boards about double developer points but didn't pay much attention as I am not adding on at least until the cruise.

Congrats on getting your Passports!! That is very exciting news. We applied for DH and DD's 2 weeks ago and DH said the checks cleared his bank a few days ago. :confused3 I'm still waiting until August before I start searching the mailbox for them!!!

Can't wait to book Palo!!!! :hippie:

Thanks! I don't think we "need" more either but dh wants to add more to use for cruising, I told him it's much cheaper to just pay cash on another line so we'll see. We just started some home improvement (decision made literally overnight) so I don't think it's an option any longer anyway.

Hmm, I should probably check on my status. I think it's been almost a month for dd and about 6 weeks since mine went out. :confused3

Well, guess you all must have a life and be out enjoying the summer. We were almost on page three so I figured I would give us a bump to page one.

Shannon and I took the little ones to the Cleveland zoo last week. They have a large stingray and shark petting and feeding pool there for the summer. It was really fun. Makes us want to hurry and go see them in their natural habitat. They also had a little show with a few animals. It was sooo lame.:rotfl: After being used to WDW's entertainment nothing can compare. Jade, the four year old, did get to go up on stage and help hold a boa constrictor so that was pretty cool.:thumbsup2 Glad she didn't get scared. She is going to be just like her mother and want to provide a home for every living thing she encounters. And her mommy will let her.:scared1:

Happy Sunday, everyone! Busy weekend here for us. I started a project this week called, "Gutting DS's Room" and we have spent about 2-3 hours in there every night to clean, organize, discard, etc. What a mess! But happy to say, we are almost finished. And then he left for camp yesterday. :sad1: Today is my b-day. Wednesday was DH's b-day. So, yeap, been busy. Promise to get back in to this more next week. No "gutting" projects planned! :goodvibes

Sorry, I have been absent. We got back from Florida last Tuesday and dd has had camp all last week and this week. So we have been on the go and our Anniversary was on Fri. The cruise is our anniversary gift, we couldn't go now so we are celebrating it then.

We did go see Pirates and I really liked it I thought it was a little better than the second one. My husband loves them all and can't wait for this one to be on dvd. He said he might have heard that they have a fourth one in the mix and everyone has signed on but Orlando, anyone else hear about this?

Our final payment is due this week. It will be nice to have it paid off, not to mention make it seem closer. Then come July 1st I am going to be on early to get reservations!! Hope everyone has a great and not too busy week!

I received a packet from DCL regarding our cruise. It showed July 1, 2007 as the date I could start making reservations (Palo and excursions) if payment was received in full. It then said that our final payment wasn't due until July 16, 2007.

Does final payment have to be applied prior to July 1, 2007 for reservations and if so, why is the final payment scheduled to be due two weeks after the fact?
