I am going to try to find someone at work to come take care of the cats, gecko and fish tank.

Yes, a neighbor or a coworker are good because you can trust them. As for the gecko......we had a hamster once and our vet told us to drop him off and they'd watch him. They only charged us $5/day to feed/water and clean his cage. Our cats we've always left at home and had a neighbor come over twice a day. It's just next door and we reciprocate the favor when they go away.

Also, not all of them walk the dogs so make sure to ask. For us it was really important to find one that would walk her as opposed to wait for her to go in the kennel/cage.

Also, in some of my touring, I noticed some kennels weren't heated/air conditioned. Definitely check all this out.

I hope everyone is having a great week! I have received some suggestions on the DIS meets and here is what I have come up with.

DIS Meet #1...Saturday 3:00 Promenade Lounge

DIS Meet #2...Monday 11:30 for Lunch (if anyone wants to do a different time then post it and we will go with the majority) since I have never cruised before I am not sure of the options..I think there is a buffet or a place with a regular menu..is this correct? If so which one does everyone prefer?

If you plan to be at the meet on Saturday and you will have kids with you let me know. I am thinking of making some goody bags for the kids ( bubbles to blow at the deck parties, glow necklaces and bracelets, and not sure what else )

We will plan to be there for the Sat. meet and try for the one on Monday. That is so nice of you to want to make up goody bags! My dd would love one if you do them.

Hope everyone is having a great week. Here it seems that the majority of the kids at my dd's school are sick. Here's to hoping that we don't catch it!!

We have 2 beta fish that we only have to feed about every other day, but I don't know what we are going to do with them. Any thoughts?

As far as Betta fish go, the good thing about them is you caqn buy 7 day feeders at the petstore and they slowly disolve releasing food. I would still find someone to check on them half way through the week though.

I found a girl at work who has saltwater fish and is willing to watch the fish, cats and gecko for the week. But I still need to find a place for the dog. At least I'm getting somewhere.

Thanks! I am starting to look for things here and there. I just need to get a count on the # of kids so I know how much of everything to buy. If anyone finds anything that they think would go in them feel free to pick it up and we can just add everything together. One thing I might need since I am flying in is someone who is driving in that I can ship everything to and they can bring it with them. Or I might be able to mail it to Saratoga Springs since I am staying there the night before.

Thanks for the updates on the meets. I will definitely try and be there for both. My kids are older (14 and 16).....so don't worry about suprise bags for them. But it's really nice that you are going to do this for the kids. We're flying so can't help you with transporting the bags unfortunately.

Mcraft17, as for the beta fish....are they in an aquarium or a fish bowl ? If it's a bowl, maybe you could just drop them off at a relative/neighbor's home ? If they're in an aquarium, then you'll have to have someone come into the house. Do you have a neighbor that has a teen that might be looking to make a little money ? I know my 16 yo dd has fed the neighbor's cat and changed the litter while they were away for a few days. He paid her $5 a day and she was more than happy to do it.

My Passporter is in the mail. Dh was incredulous the boards weren't enough but I told him it's in lieu of the boards - I'm spending way too much time on the boards at work!

The meets sound great. We will be bring 3 kids (DS9, DD6, DNiece 7). You should also be able to get a good count from our list of Disers.

Yes..I looked at the overall list and got a count so that gives me an idea. There were a lot of older kids so I am not sure what the "cut off" age would be. I guess it all depends on the kid. Some teens would probably think it was cool and some would probably think it was totally lame.

I can't blame you. I figure if needed I can ship to SSR to be waiting for me when I arrive Friday night. Is there a limit of items you can carry onto the ship?

I would say to maybe follow the ages of the Club and Lab and say 12 and under, unless someone thinks their older child would like one then they can just let you know. That is my thoughts. We are driving to my parents house in Florida then on to the port, I might be ablte to check with them and see if you can mail it to them, then I can meet you at the port. As long as it isn't too big of a box.

Hello ... Hope everyone is having a great week. We are almost another week closer to our cruise !!

I need someone who is creative and computer savy to design a logo for our cruise. I have seen some really cute ones on here for different cruises. I am thinking about getting canvas totes for the kids goody bags and I thought it would be neat to have a cool design for our cruise to iron on them. Also, I am looking at rates for these bags and they seem to be cheaper if you order them in bulk. If we do get a cruise design would any adults be interested in a bag? I know I want one if they come out as cute as the pictue I have in my mind !
