September 24, Pleasure Island

Hey guys! If anyone can make it to Pleasure Island the night of the 24th I'd love to arrange a group meet up! I'm gonna be there that night celebrating my birthday and since mine is only a party of 2, I'd love to have a bigger group of friends to celebrate with! Plus I'd love to meet all of you too! If anyone is interested let me know!

Wish we could meet you but the DW and I are there on Saturday nights at 8TRAX and Mannequins, but not Sunday nights.

Met a large group of ladies from the Hamilton area earlier this year. Canadian girls know how to party!!

While you are at Pleasure Island, be sure and go to the Beach Club to hear Stormbringer. They are far and away the best classic rock band in Florida. They used to play at the West End stage but it is gone now. Tell Rick the guitar player it is your birthday. I did check and they are booked on the 24th at PI.

My wife and I will be there that night so if we see a lady in her birthday suit (or hat) we will say hey, hoser! (kudos to the McKenzie Brothers!) I'll be the over 50, white-haired guy with glasses, a goatee and a beer!

Stacy, which club to try? ALL OF THEM!

Motion and 8TRAX are likely to have the most people early in the evening...10pm. Rock'n'Roll Beach Club is hit or miss on Sunday nights but it's worth a visit to see what's going on and see if they've got the live band mentioned by JohnB. Squeeze in a visit to the Adventurer's Club and/or the Comedy Club and then after midnight head to BET Soundstage for some hip hop and last to Mannequins for the revolving dance floor and techno.

The nice thing about PI is that you can club hop and carry your drink with you outside.
The not so nice thing about PI is that although the closing time is advertised as 2am most places stop the music at 1:35-1:40am and then herd everyone out the doors.
