We can't wait. This is our second cruise. We thought we would only cruise once. HAHA. Two things happened. One, last March we went on the Eastern Carribean Cruise and on the day we would go to the disney island the wind prevented us from stopping. A major downer since that was the highlight of our trip. We had parasailing booked, snorkling booked, sting rays booked, tubes booked, and bikes booked. Second reason, Disney sent us a 10% off coupon and we have to take advantage of that. We just got back from Disney World a month ago and the Cruise was so much more relaxing. The food, treatment, activities, movies, new sites, was just fantastic. I am a huge fan of Hell's Kitchen and it was like eating there. One thing to keep in mind first timers. Take advantage. There are three restaurants and you alternate between them each night (there is also a higher end resturant you can eat at for a tiny fee as well as a great buffet if you need flexibility). The next time you return to that restuarant on the 4th day the restaurant menu will change. Keep that in mind in case you are thinking well I will just try that lobster spegetti next time we eat in here. They let you order multiple items. I gained a little weight but I would eat two appatizers, two entrees, and one or two desserts. I promise I did not eat it all. I got to try some AMAZING things. Escargo (snails), black truffle rissoto (great!!!!), lamb (amazing), beef wellington, sea bass, lobster, creame brulle, etc. You have the same guys serving you the whole time so they get to know that you like a tea with lemon, you typically go for the steaks, and the little girl always wants some ketchup in the shape of a mickey head for her fries. They have disney movies playing on the ship. Some even before they are released. Like we got to see Alice in Wonderland in 3d before you could even see it here in Blue Springs MO. If anyone wants some more stories, just let me know. The cruise left a vivid memory and I know what my little 9 year old sister did on the cruise, the night activities, food, etc. Disney World is great, but you really get to relax on the cruise. Also for first time cruisers don't forget to budget a few extra hundred bucks. You will have to pay for luggage if Disney booked your flight. Also, tips are expected at the end of the trip. I think it is about $150 total for the bags by the end of the trip. And it was somewhere around $200 in tips for the three us when we went. You do not need a passport, but get one just in case. Since this is a closed loop cruise you should be fine. As a backup I would get yourself one of the passport id cards with the chip inside. When you visit ports you are only required to have your room key and driver's license. No special customs to walk through at the ports. The only time you see customs is when you return to the USA and have to report the items and money you spent on trinkets. Oh. There is a pirates night on the ship. Keep an eye out around the end of september to buy some pirate type clothing and accessories. You will save some money vs buying it on the boat. One awesome thing they sell on the boat is Capt'n Jack Sparrow's hat from Pirates of the Carribean. They should be going all out on Pirates night since they are continuing the Pirates Trilogy to 6 movies and a new one is coming out in a few months.

I'm joining in! I just got off a cruise on the Magic and while on board we booked our second cruise for September 24th. I am so excited!

Disneydreamin-gang,
If you could do that I would greatly appreciate it. I am in nursing school, last semester and I do not have the time to make this list and be able to maintain it.
Thank you,
Slenderella :)

If everyone wants to post who is traveling with you and maybe the ages of our children I'll put that next to your name. That way we will find the kids in common for the clubs, etc.

I checked out some other meet threads. I added cabin #, and celebrating.

It will be me (Lisa) and dh (Geoff) and then DD 5 and DS 2. It will be our 5th Disney cruise. We will also be celebrating our 11 yr anniversary. Our cabin number is 2120. Let me know if you need any other info.

Thanks!

It will be the four of uss:

Cabin 6536:
Gina Shirley (me)
Kim Rice

Cabin 6538:
Don Shirley
Gail Shirley

We are all big kids... so no young kids for us! :thumbsup2

Those of you who are cruise veterans, is there anything else I need to include? I'm clueless. How do we arrange a meet?
Where do we meet?

Well some do the meet before the sail away party.... I think it depends on when most are going to arrive. :confused3 I have been part of a cruise meet before we even boarded the ship but we all arrived early to the port. And sometimes we never did a cruise meet, we just did FE. I think it is what the majority wants to do. It is so busy on arrival day its hard to make time to meet, ya know? Some meets are on sea days, which I personally think is better, typically the first sea day so kids can meet and such. I say take a poll and find out what would be best for everyone who wants to participate?

If you are putting the list together for fish extenders they need to know the following:

Cabin # ('s)
Names
Ages
Sex (if names are versatile)
Are you celebrating anything?

OK. Got it. Thanks. I'm not sure about the FE though. I'll wait until closer to our date and see if everyone want to meet.

I am sure once we get closer to time more people will start subbing to this thread and you will have more interested in FE and the meet. I would wait until April/May before starting to put together a FE list. I would wait to decide on a meet until July because by them I am sure most will have their travel plans in order. :thumbsup2

Thank you Gina. I really am just winging this. The info helps. Or even better I'll keep up with the list if you would like to organize the FE and meet when the time comes. It's kind of hard to do something like this not having cruised before.
