September 22nd 4 day wonder

Just got my reply from the teacher...she said wont be sending much of anything home since they work in groups during the school day. Basically we just need to work with Meghan on the letter "P". She said no big project to do while away and she will try to get some materials togther for review but thats it!

That is good as this way she can enjoy her cruise too.I would start pointing all p things to her all week long, and maybe take a writing table along for those quiet times in the day.I can't believe time has gone by so fast.

Scottie- I'm glad she's not going to be having to do any school work (really) while you're gone.
Kelsey teacher was asking her which day she was leaving. (she'll be 4 in Oct.) She said, "When my mom tells me to." I told her she wasn't going to be in school next week, not which day we're leaving.

Earlier in the thread, someone mentioned Atlantis. I want to go but do I have to reserve a room to enjoy everything there?

We are doing the dolphin swim Monday at 1:00 pm. Will we have enough time to atleast discover atlantis beforehand????

nsturrock-

You can still make your way over to Atlantis to look around...just cant use the pools, slides, beach and the aquairm if you are not staying there (or at the comfort suites) or on an excursion. But from all that I have gathered you can wonder around the hotel and use the casino without paying for a room or excursion. I think I also read at one point that you can see part of the aquarim for free. Someone correct me if Im wrong!!

Niether of the two excursions give you access to the pools and slides. The only way is to rent a room.

You may not believe this BUT we managed to get almost everything packed tonight!! We only have the general stuff left like shampoo, hairbrushes etc left! And to top it off we managed to fit all of the clothes in two suitcases (which is a small miracle for us) So our luggage will consist of two larger suitcases, 1 small suitcase, 1 bookbag, and a camera bag. I still can’t believe my eyes when I see how little we are taking.

Great job!We will finish tomorrow!I don't even want to know how many bags we will end up with <G>.

Wow! I'm so far behind I've got to do two loads of laundry. Then I'm going to get started packing. That's the only thing that I have to do today, besides taking my kids and getting their haircut. Which seems like nothing comparedtwo the last few weeks.

It was the only thing to do on my list today....get packed! Well, here it is 12:45 and I still have not started. I keep managing to find other things to get in the way.

I did go buy film for the camera and tapes for the camcorder though. I also got the suitcases out of the attic. We are planning on two large cases and one carryon for our family. We usually do this.

I'm currently finishing the laundry and then whether I want to or not, it's time to pack!

We head out early tomorrow for KSC and the Radisson and then Sunday onto the boat!

Some friends of ours decided (just 2 days ago) to come along with us and we are thrilled. Their kids (2 boys) are the same ages as ours and we've known them since the 9 yr olds started kindergarten 5 years ago. Amanda is thrilled to have a friend going along! We have already decided not to be joined at the hip. We will go our own way during the day and have linked our dinner ressies so we will eat together each night. Both families want their own family time. I didn't think it was possible to be any more excited than we already were but indeed, we are even more excited.:bounce:

Sonya- That's really neat! I wish we could of gone we are friends went, but we couldn't give the same vacation times. They got back Sunday. They Loved It!!

Anyways my day has ended up turning into a day from you know where. Before I took my kids to get haircuts I noticed that my daughter was pulling at her ear again. So made her a Dr's appiontment. So after we are done getting haircuts and on our way to the Dr.'s. I looked in the mirror and my son is now rubbing his ear! Anyway they both have ear infections (her didn't heal all the way and his is just starting). I wanted the medicine that didn't have to be refrigerated, which cost $98 for both.

Now I'm home it's 3:30. I have my last load of laundry in the dryer. I haven't started packing anything (except the bag I packed weeks ago, Thank God!). I was planning on being done by now. Oh yeah, and I still have to clean up the house.

Thanks for letting me vent! I fell a little better now! I guess I need to go get busy!

Well, my 2 large bags and a carryon day bag didn't happen. We went to Washington DC for 8 days and only needed 2 bags but packing for this 5 day trip is like packing for a 10 day trip because you need play clothes for the day and dressier clothes for dinner. Anyway, we did the 2 large suitcases (they are LARGE too) and one small kids wheeled suitcase plus the carryon day bag. The funny thing is that I put ALL of everybody's underwear, socks, and bathing suits in the small kids suitcase. So, if something happens to that bag, we'll really be in trouble!

After I finished packing, I checked all the packing lists I could find and realized I'd forgotten highlighter, sunvisor, ziplock baggies, and one other thing I can't think of now. Anyway, check and double check those suitcases!

We're now completely packed and ready to head out the door tomorrow morning! Hurrah!

Our friends are not going to KSC with us...we will see them on Sunday.

Jeleann, did your friends do the 3, 4 or 7 day? Give us details about all the good stuff they told you. Do your friends post on this board? Mine don't even know about it.

They went on the 7 day Eastern. She said that all the dinner restraunts were fablous, Palos is a must. Her kids never wanted to leave the Oceaneer Club. That it was really HOT at Castaway Cay (didn't know if it was only that day or all the time)! The shows were really cute. That the characters are out a lot! And about 10 different ones. That she hated leaving. Yes, she does post one this board (she told me about it). She has started a new job the day after she got back so she's been really busy.

I have packed all of dh and I things now I have to do the kids. Then the carry-ons and bathroom stuff for in the morning. The kids are still napping. Maybe I can get it done before they wake up.

Jeleann: Your kids are napping at 7:15pm??? What time do they go to bed? When mine were little if they slept 1 1/2 hours mid afternoon it was alot. Mine just never were nappers! So, did your friends have any tips or definite dos and don'ts?

Scottie: How are you guys planning to handle the pool situation with your little one? Honestly, when we went on the 3 day 2 years ago, we only made it to the pool one time. We were just so busy doing other things. Hopefully it won't be a big deal for you guys.

9 hours till we leave for the airport!! My hopes and dreams of packing light were dashed tonight when my wife pulled out a suticase worth of hidden stuff that still needed packed so we now have 2 med/large size suitcases and 1 large duffle type bag then the camera bag and a back pack. I guess better then usual but still too much

As for Morgan...I dont think we will be by the pool on the ship too much anyway so I dont think it will be a big deal. But if we decide to tae her in to splash for a bit with meghan we will just put a swim diaper on under her bathing suit I guess. She has never done #2 in the pool and is close to potty trained now so im not too worried!

We are pretty much done packing.I have actually learned to pack the right way this time.I am not taking my whole closet<G>.We are taking one large suitcase, two carry ons and camera bag. This is a big improvement for us.
We will be leaving at 8 tomorrow. We will head to WDW for the night.
You all have a safe trip here.See you at port Sunday morning!

Maria

They normally take a nap between 11 and 1. Going to the doctor and getting their haircut made our schedule all messed up. They didn't go to sleep til around 3:30 and didn't feel very well. They woke up right after I got off the computer. They were asleep for about 4 hours (nom. about 90 mins). They are already going back to bed, I think they're trying to get well and need the extra sleep.

I'm done with all my packing! Just have to get the bathroom stuff in the morning. Ended up with 1 large suitcase, 2 smaller suitcase, and garment bag. For carry on 1 small bag and a backpack. I'm not even bringing my purse with me. Gave all my husband things I need out of my wallet and anything else I need I have in one of the carry-ons. Just have to finish cleaning my house. All I have left is to clean the bathrooms, sweep and mop kitchen floor, vaccum, make the beds in the morning.

My friend said: Do:Palos, go snorkeling atleast once, Go to the night things for adults atleast once, have the cm take your picture with your camera too and only buy the shutters pictures that are perfect.
Don't: Be late for dinner (don't want to miss anything or keep anyone waiting), try to do everything bc there's no way.

Did it meet your expectations?
Can you believe the luck with the weather?
Anyone get in to see The Baha Men? I was stuck in the hallway..
How about dinner? Table mates?
Excursions?

Just curious to see if everyone had a good time (and no, I don't work for DCL!!!)....

My expectations were well met,and the weather couldn' t of been better. It was an excellent cruise, and we had a great time.We will be back. Our table mates were dh parents. We took taxi around islands,so we didn't take any excursions.
