Ohhh yeah!! BLONDE MOMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi all! You all sound like a great group and I am missing our cruise already.

We (me, DH, DS (11), DS (10), DD (6)) were on the July 14, 2012 Disney Fantasy sailing to the Eastern Caribbean. It was a wonderful trip!

My 6 year old daughter had a special birthday treat at the Pirate's League. She had held out for days seeing princesses and mermaids on the ship because she really wanted the Pirate Empress package. She had a wonderful experience at the BBB with her Pirate helper.

Unfortunately, she lost her eyepatch and earring that night at Pirate Night. She was not aware it was on her bandanna and when she removed it, it must have fallen off. We missed purchasing a replacement because we were packing and taking care of picking up photos. Worse yet, her pirate sword was confiscated at airport security - we had not packed it in the luggage for fear of breakage. Yes, in retrospect it was a bad decision on our part - it's a fierce looking sword!

We have written to anyone we could think of at DCL and Disney Merchandising. The items are only available on ship. We waited for a friend who was cruising on the Dream in August but the BBB items are only available on the Fantasy!

So, could anyone please please please buy us a replacement pink eyepatch - if I remember correctly it was about $5. We will happily pay for shipping, etc etc The sword is too hard to replace and send but she has an amazing photo in her outfit.

I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about the cruise. One tip is if you do BBB, plan on a photo opportunity because they do not offer one at the Boutique.

I would be happy to look for that for your little girl on our trip. Just PM me your information and if it is on the ship, I will find it and get it for her.

Now that we have all stateroom #s for the FE exchange, I've updated my map it's organized by forward, midship, and aft sections.

I've made a second map by deck.

Edited the permissions. My apologies that it wasn't set to public.

And I can't wait for nenner1's map too. So for the directionally challenged, like me, there's hope. I'll likely print all 3 types of maps.

Of course I haven't completely finished everyone's gift, but I'm ready to hand them out! :rotfl2: Just the motivation I need to finish. :yay:

--------------------------------------------------------
I finally got my documents! :woohoo: I'm armed with luggage tags, yay.
Do carry-on bags need luggage tags? You need them on every bag on the train, but not on a plane. So what about a ship?

CiCi you are the best! This is perfect because in making the PDF I have come to the realization that it won't be able to be printed. In order to keep the resolution high enough to read when zoomed in, I had to make the base document size larger than 8x10 (which shouldn't matter on a mobile device...but that would make what I made impossible to print! So we have it covered from every direction! :thanks:

Although I was going to use your full deck maps to double check mine and make sure I have no mistakes but it won't let me see them- Google Docs says I don't have permission.

So for you folks looking for that PDF I hope to have it up before I go to work tonight. I want to get it proofread (by my mistake catcher extraordinaire Ron) and try loading it on my ipad before I post it for download to make sure there aren't any bugs in it! :thumbsup2 So if not tonight it should be up tomorrow.

Now...on to our pre-cruise meet. This is Friday 9-21 at Fishlips at Port Canaveral. We (Ron and I) hadn't come to a set conclusion on what time to meet. The feedback I've gotten from others so far is pretty much "anything goes". We had decided that it might be around 7:30 PM...but we are very flexible on that time and now might be looking a little earlier for a reason I am going to express below.

This is where I would love some input from everyone- especially those that have had a meet at Fishlips before (last time our meet was at Grills down the road/canal). If you are planning to meet, do you want to eat a full meal? Should we make a regular table reservation or should we just meet out at the Tiki Bar (outside deck) (you can do that, right?)

I am now thinking that we might want to go a bit earlier so it is still light outside. I have been told by the owner of the Port Canaveral Webcam that he is going to begin Tiki Bar waves at Fishlips. What that means is if you are at Fishlips he will zoom the webcam in on you and you can wave to friends and family watching.

I asked but did not get a direct answer as to what time that is or how to go about it. So I can't promise we can make it happen for our group but I am thinking maybe we might want to back the time up just a bit earlier so there will still be light for the camera to see us (sunset for 9/21 in PC is 7:20 PM). I am thinking at least a whole hour earlier. And I am not 100% sure if he even does the Tiki Waves at different times than the sailaways (RCCL's Monarch leaves at 4 PM)...so it may be a moot point anyway. But I thought I'd throw it out there for us all to mull over.

And for those who aren't aware, Portcanaveralwebcam.com shows the ships leaving port. They do often quickly zoom across the top rail and show the folks there as you are sailing out. They do not yet take requests to zoom into specific people at Port Canaveral BUT if you want to be caught on camera, stand on the top deck starboard side and you hava a good chance. (Those with banners, signs or flags usually get a longer pause). If you tune in around 4 PM today you can see the Dream leaving! (you can hear the horns and everything!)

They also post videos to Youtube of the sailaways which is REALLY cool! I love watching our old ones (we have done this twice at Port Everglades- the webcam at Port Canaveral is new since our last Disney Cruise!) Here is our video from last year- you can see us at 2:22 (that's us behind the big banner):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQBy2MU3Kk4

So you can see how much fun that is! Like I said they do not zoom in and spend a lot of time on people at Port Canaveral - yet - but you can see if you watch some of the Fantasy sailaways they definitely get close enough as they pan across the deck.

Just a little tidbit I thought I'd share! :goodvibes

Let me hear your opinions on the Fishlips meet- what time- meal or just drinks, etc. And those who have met there before let me know how it went for you! Thanks!!!:thumbsup2

I finally got my passport! Woohoo! I have question... for formal night, can the men rent just the jacket or do you have to get the whole outfit?

Just an FYI about Fishlips. We ate there the night before our Dream cruise. First time ever. Now I'm not a big seafood eater but the seafood eaters in the family lived their dinners. I know I really enjoyed my dinner. One thing the kids liked is you seemed to get a lot for your money. Just thought I'd pass that along for those thinking of dinner.

We ate at Grills prior to our last 2 cruises(just us no Dis meet) and last year we got bit by so many Mosquitos! I love the atmosphere outside the those buggers got us! We have never been to fishlips.. We will want to order dinner but if that is not what the plan is, that will be fine and we can eat and then join at the bar for a drink.. We will be at the port by 5 so we are available any time after. Just let us know where and when and we are there!

We leave for WDW in the morning. My countdown says 10 hours 13 minutes. Looking forward to seeing everyone on board.
