:welcome: to all of our new cruisers! I can't believe that our cruise is almost 5 months away...the time is really moving now!

I've also read (sure others have) there's no character breakfast. Our kids will be so disappointed. But on the plus side, I don't have to worry about running out of the breakfast to make our brunch reservation. It always seems that no matter what day I book brunch, it's the same as the character breakfast.

:confused3 I wonder why they decided to do away with the character breakfast? We loved doing that on the Magic and I was so looking forward to that on the Fantasy. I wonder if they just cancelled it on the Fantasy or if it was a fleet-wide change?

:sad1: We have to change the date of our cruise.

My DD has been asked to join the competition team at her dance studio. :cheer2:

It's a big honor for her -- there are only 15 girls on the team. However, it means she won't be able to miss dancing in September for the cruise. We'll have to choose another date. Our pre-cruise stay was booked with DVC points, so we'll keep that. Missing less than a week should be okay (I hope), but missing two weeks is out of the question (I don't even have to ask about that one, lol).

She will also be dancing two days a week for almost the entire summer. Ugh. I really am not looking forward to that. It looks like we won't be taking any trips longer than 4 days for quite a while to come. :rolleyes1

It's been great hanging out with all of you for the past four or five months. I'm sorry we won't get to meet! :sad1:

I'm so sorry that you had to cancel your cruise! However, sounds like your daughter has been given a wonderful opportunity and I completely understand not being able to pass it up! Good luck to her and hope you are able to rebook something soon :)

We are down to 162 days :thumbsup2 but I'm down to 7 days until we board the Magic :woohoo::yay::dance3::banana:
I'll be thinking of all of you drinking my Konk Coolers on Serenity Bay.......OK that was just bad, I just can't wait to relax on this trip!!!!!!

Yeah, that was just mean...

I have some great news to share. Both Janet and I interviewed for different positions at our work. We both got the job we interviewed for. We both get raises. Only really scary part is we each have a SIX MONTH probation we must pass. But it is a sizable pay increase!!!! She began her new job 4-1 and I will start my on 5-1. I feel so very blessed at this time.

Congratulations Lois! What awesome news! And congrats to Janet as well :woohoo:

I know the first post has 8/22 listed as the last day to sign up for the FE, but any chance the list will be closed earlier?

I usually order stuff online and it sometimes takes a while for it to arrive and then there is my assembling...I'd love to know further out how many rooms we have in the FE.

Thoughts?

Also - anyone have a magic number as to when the group splits into 2 (or more)? I counted 22 staterooms on the list but I know Mashelle counted more than 30 (perhaps I didn't scroll down the list enough).

I may have doubble counted. But yes i'm hopping that i can get a findal count,by the middle of july because i'm haveing the main gift printed. I don't want to spoil the suprise.

If any of you are members of the Disney Movie Rewards (you get points for entering the codes from your DVDs and Disney movie tickets), you can get a $10 gift card for 1000 points right now. It says limited quantities, so jump on it if you are interested.

I just got 3 cards - $30 towards my Drink of the Day! :lmao:

Yay!! Got my 10th post and PM has been sent to nenner1! :cheer2:

Hi everyone! Just popping by to let everyone know that I have quite a few PM's up there...LOL! I won't have time to answer them before work tonight so
I should get to them tomorrow afternoon when I wake up! I know I've been sitting on one or two since last week (in Lakeland allll weekend) still trying to recuperate from a long weekend of dance and get back on track. ;)

No worries though! Hakuna Matata! :thumbsup2

:) Jen

PS- we are looking at excursions in St. Thomas. To those who have been on a DCL Eastern before- do you recall if the clocks change at all? Want to make sure we are looking at correct times! Thanks!!!! :goodvibes

No, there is no time change on a eastern cruise. On a western cruise there is one, I believe when you get to Cozumel.

In case you haven't heard sometime in july there will be no more palo high tea. From what i read there were many who did not like this. Oh well:worried::(:sad2:Maybe i can get the palo brunch or the dinner HAHA. I think i would feel a little silly going in there just by myself. Also i'm not much of a drinker and i've seen the long wine list. usually i just have one or two glasses of wine with dinner

I also heard they did away with the Grand Dessert Buffet and the Character Breakfast:sad1:

I don't know why they did away with the Grand Dessert Buffet but I heard since the new ships are so big ( the dining rooms) it would take to long for the characters to get around all the tables.:sad2:

What does everyone think about backing it up to 7/22? We can do that, I just want everyone to be aware that a LOT of people will be bugging to join after that date. We had SO many people join up on our last cruise after the final date- and that one was only one month out. What we can do is make the "main" (current) deadline 7/22 and anyone who signs up past that date will be optional for those already on the main list, and on a separate list for each other. In otherwords "list A" closes 7/22 after that date anyone who signs up will be on "List B". List B will give to other List B's and they can give to List A if they so choose. List A can also give to List B if they choose but are only obligated to List A. Does that make sense?

The only cruise I've been on that split did so at 30. Splitting is a lot of work-especially if we will be dealing with an A/B division- it gets messy. As long as the list is reasonable I'd like to avoid it. We are only at 16 usernames right now- I'd like to at least get to 20 before we consider the split. Actual staterooms right now is 20 (one nuclear family amongst multiple staterooms like us in 7191/7192 counts as one. The other family in this situation is Fluffsmom)

I aim to make it as easy as possible for everyone! What do you all think?:thumbsup2

Thanks, Jen :)

This will be my first participation in an FE so whatever you figure out is ok with me!! I aim to please! :flower3:

I like the 7/22 deadline for List A and then optional for List B after that.

And I also concur with the waiting until 30 to do the split. I think we had close to 30 on our last cruise which was manageable, although the ship was MUCH smaller for distributing!

On our last cruise we also had some people join after the deadline, it was just a few cabins, so I am 99% sure pretty much everyone just added them to their list anyway. When I order, I do factor in a few extras, just not double the list. :thumbsup2

We would be okay with whatever decision is made. I do have a couple of questions though. If a family signs up before the 7/22 deadline can they formally be placed on both the A and B lists if they choose to be? Would the deadline for the B group still be August 22?

Since we are on the subject of the FE gift exchange, are we doing a gift for each person in the stateroom, one for each stateroom, or whatever we want to do?

Thanks so much!

I what i'm doing is a giving one gift for the alduts one per sateroom and the if the kids are under thirteen then i m giving them smiple things like disney themes stickers or pencils and small candy bars. Like the parents want more sugar on vaction. It just depends on how much i have in july. That's my cut off date.

Great! Sounds like a plan then unless I hear any objections from the peanut gallery....:rolleyes1

:rotfl2:

I'll make up a new "sign" for the first post with the new dates - I'll try to get that done at work tonight and posted tomorrow afternoon. :thumbsup2

Sure you can be on both lists if you choose. That's what we do, and have done the last three cruises or so! :)

As far as B list...I'll say 8/22 for now. I'll be honest, we will have people ask to join pretty much right up to sailing- at least we have the last couple of cruises. We'll have to take each case in consideration individually I think as we get that close to sailing. I'm sure anyone asking to join that late will understand that not everyone will be able to accommodate them. :goodvibes

A friend of mine is sailing on the Memorial Day Fantasy cruise and she is running their FE. They had their cutoff last week and have already had three ask to join since. ;)

Whatever you like! Many do individual gifts for each occupant, and some (like us) do one gift per stateroom. whatever strikes your fancy. :goodvibes

No objections here to the 7/22 cutoff date or holdings out on splitting up the groups. Most of my gifts that I am planning are handmade stuff so I was secretly hoping for a bit earlier than a month out so I can buy supplies in bulk. :thumbsup2. And for the other stuff...well, I have never done one before, so I am going with the flow!

My first FE also. Making homemade items. Like the cutoff of 7/22.:cool1:

My son's name is spelled incorrectly on the FE list. It's Nathanial.
