September 22, 2012 Fantasy Eastern "From Fantasyland to the Fantasy"

:sad1: We have to change the date of our cruise.

My DD has been asked to join the competition team at her dance studio. :cheer2:

It's a big honor for her -- there are only 15 girls on the team. However, it means she won't be able to miss dancing in September for the cruise. We'll have to choose another date. Our pre-cruise stay was booked with DVC points, so we'll keep that. Missing less than a week should be okay (I hope), but missing two weeks is out of the question (I don't even have to ask about that one, lol).

She will also be dancing two days a week for almost the entire summer. Ugh. I really am not looking forward to that. It looks like we won't be taking any trips longer than 4 days for quite a while to come. :rolleyes1

It's been great hanging out with all of you for the past four or five months. I'm sorry we won't get to meet! :sad1:

Sorry that you have to change you cruise but don't feel too bad. You daughter should feel honnered that she was asked to join the dance team. There will allways be a disney cruise but getting to be part of a competive dance is special.

Sorry you can't make it.

We know how it is to be a dance competition family. Our 11 y/o dances 5 days a week (sometimes 7!!!:rolleyes1). Luckily September is generally the slower part of the season and for the most part her studio doesn't give us too much of a hard time for taking her out at that time of year. They have to let us take a vacation at some point:goodvibes... If we waited for them to take a break we'd never have one!!!:)

Ron

Thanks!

It looks like they will have off from Mother's Day in May through mid June, the last week in August through the week of Labor Day, plus holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. They are supposed to have a long weekend for Easter, but this year the days they should have had off were filled with extra practice for competition anyway, lol.

I guess we're either going to have to go with next May-June, which looks like it will cost $2900 for an inside stateroom for the two of us ($3100 oceanview), vs the $2200 we were paying for an oceanview this September, UGH. {One week earlier in May is a little less expensive, but it's also a western, and I don't think we want to do the western itinerary.}

Or...we can go with the first week of September 2013, which would be their first week of fall dancing for next year. That would be $2400 for oceanview. But that is SO FAR away. :headache:

I called United and i did get the flight changed with out any fees. I will be arrving in orlando at 9:05 on friday. Not too bad. I had to cancell breakfast with mickey but i will still be able to go to the studios. I've done this breakfast before so i'm not too dispointed. bummer about not having a character breakfast on the fantasy

Glad to here United was able to change the flight for you, eight hours at LAX sure would stink.

We are down to 162 days :thumbsup2 but I'm down to 7 days until we board the Magic :woohoo::yay::dance3::banana:
I'll be thinking of all of you drinking my Konk Coolers on Serenity Bay.......OK that was just bad, I just can't wait to relax on this trip!!!!!!

Okay that wasn't nice haha, I have made konk coolers at home but some how they just don't look the same. I'm glad that i don't have to spend eight hours at LAX.:scared1: i can't decide on my outfit for mickey's party. It's a chice beween a princess or a mouseteer. If i go as a princess i will not wear high shoes my goodness who on earth did ladies do it when disneyland first opened:confused3 I'v spent the last couple of weeks looking at all the you tube viedos of the fantasy. The other day i was watching the travel chanelle and i saw the disney parks and cruise line spots and i got the goofest look on my face. My DFB gave a funny look like oh my goodness you have five months to go.:rotfl2: only 73 more days to go until we check in. online that is. see ya real soon

When we booked our honeymoon cruise I booked it under my name. I didn't realize I couldn't later change my DF as the primary guest later on (never cruised with Disney before). Is this going to matter for us or are they going to be referring to us by my last name? I wasn't sure if it mattered or not while on the cruise

So I originally planned on being solo on this cruise but after spending hours thinking about this and getting a bit more in my bonus; I decided to add my mom to the trip. She's been on the wonder with me (several times) and she was on our fabulous double dip cruise on the magic in 2008. I already invited her to go on a WBTA in 2013 (assuming they ever release the fall 2013 itinerary and it's on it), but she would still not have sailed on one of the larger ships.

So i'm doing my best to bite my tongue and not say anything as I'm hoping to surprise her on Mother's day. Anyone have an idea as to what I could do to surprise a mature elderly woman??

So sorry to see that jcemom has need to change the date of their cruise. I know that they will find a new date and will be a great addition to that cruise meet.

I have some great news to share. Both Janet and I interviewed for different positions at our work. We both got the job we interviewed for. We both get raises. Only really scary part is we each have a SIX MONTH probation we must pass. But it is a sizable pay increase!!!! She began her new job 4-1 and I will start my on 5-1. I feel so very blessed at this time.

That sounds like a plan!!

I have some good news to share. Janet and I both got promotions at work. Together the raise is good! Only issue is now we are both on probation for the next six months. How can something so awesome be so very scary!!!!

In case you haven't heard sometime in july there will be no more palo high tea. From what i read there were many who did not like this. Oh well:worried::(:sad2:Maybe i can get the palo brunch or the dinner HAHA. I think i would feel a little silly going in there just by myself. Also i'm not much of a drinker and i've seen the long wine list. usually i just have one or two glasses of wine with dinner

While they are eliminating the High Tea, they are extending the hours for Brunch (which was amazing!), so it's all good!

Grandma4Ever - congrats on the promotions for you and Janet! I am sure you will both fly through the probation period!

Janet and Lois,

CONGRATULATIONS on your well deserved promotions:banana::yay::cheer2::lovestruc:cool1:

Alan and I know that both of you will do well.

I surprised my Mom with a dream cruise last Mother's Day and here's what I did (let's say she's almost retirement age). I bought a canvas beach bag and filled it with normal Mother's Day type gifts (candles - beach scented, notecards - beach themed, travel cup - flip flop design, fun sunglasses, pink flamingo beach towel, towel clips, etc).

As she opened everything, she thought it was all cute and summery items. Then, at the bottom of the bag, I wrapped the DCL Planning DVD and our confirmation packet together. It's a great surprise after already feeling pampered with the smaller gifts which now all make sense with the beach theme.

Have fun!! :thumbsup2

I just remembered I didn't respond with our last name or Friday night plans. Our last name is Anderson and for the night before our cruise, we'll be at my apartment next to WDW. We could meet up on property somewhere but probably not out at the port.
