September 22, 2007 -- WESTERN

Today I ordered the Romance Basket and a bottle of Iron Horse Fairytale Champagne to be in our stateroom. I hope that will be a nice surprise for Steve. Is anyone else creating a surprise for the cruise?

I ordered the bday celebration from DCL for dh as a surprise (did the same thing last year). I have been craving the cake that comes with the decorations, lol but I'll let him think it is all for him.:)

Hmm, I've been thinking of ordering the Congratulations Stateroom Celebration for our 25th anniversary. Is the cake that good? We are not big cake eaters. But if it is excellent cake, we might be tempted. Trying to justify the $39 plus tax. I can buy 5 or 6 BBC's for that! :thumbsup2

Happy Friday, everyone! :goodvibes

I can't believe we've only 6 weeks to go before leaving!!! I'm sooo excited!!! party:

Got a busy weekend coming up! Saturday see's the start of the soccer season here in England and my DH and DSs are big fans of a team called Aston Villa which is rather inconveniently based in Birmingham - 6 hour minimum round trip from here. Despite the distance, DH splashed out for season tickets for all 3 off them this year so they're really looking forward to going tomorrow - bless 'em... ;)

On Sunday we're supposed to be visiting Stonehenge. Only problem is I feel awful! Sore throat, tight chest, dry cough, headache and very, very tired! I think it could be a side-effect of the drugs I'm taking as the Doc upped the dose on Tuesday and I've not felt 100% since. :sad2: We'll see...

My thoughts are with Marsha and her family this weekend - hope everything goes OK...

Karen hope that you get to feeling better.

Kathy and I have to get a new set of tires, (tyres the spelling for our English friends) put on the prius before we go down to florida. We bought the car used, with 16000 miles on it. Original equipment tires never last too long.

Still haven't decided on excursions for Grand Cayman or Cozumel yet. Mike

Mike ... have you heard from Marsha? How she doing? How tough is that on her???:sad2: And to make things just as bad... on our sept 8th cruise, a brother and sister that are doing a B2B, they lost their grandmother and aunt!! It's been a bit heart breaking this week.:sad1:
I think everyone needs this :grouphug: :grouphug:

ok a bit brighter...
car tires:scared1: I need to start to look for new ones for our Expedition.Tires here last about 2 to 3 years due to the heat. Yesterday heated up to 109... just a couple of days ago it was 96!!! It was nice to say..."Look... it cooler today !"

so lets go out and have a Magical Friday!

The cake was wonderful! Now, that was last year so I am hoping that it is just as good this year. It had chocolate shavings on top and I THINK it had a raspberry filling.

Uh! How many days do we have left??? I need some cake!

I must try these BBC everyone keeps talking about.

Perhaps we can get a pitcher of them.

Is anyone booking a future cruise while onboard? We will book for next fall and maybe do the Eastern since we haven't done that one yet.

What cruise is everyone else going to book?

I know we haven't even cruised this year yet and I am already planning for next year. Have to be prepared!:)

42 days!!!

Where is my upgrade!!!!!

Hope that you get it Chris. We are not looking for an upgrade or would want one. Love the location of our room and really don't want to have a verandah again.

I have not talked to Marsha, as I want her to have her space and not intrude into this very personal time. If I hear from her I will post on the board what she tells me, of course after asking her permission to do so first. Mike

Thanks Mike. I thought maybe she had talked to you. When/ if she does, send our best. :grouphug: Thanks!

Yes! :thumbsup2 I'm thinking about booking an Eastern - ostensibly for next year, then pushing it back to 2009 when those dates are announced. However, it all depends on whether or not DH enjoys cruising - he suddenly revealed a deep, dark fear of seasickness when we were on vacation! :confused3 Goodness knows why! In all the years I've known him (29!!) he's never suffered with any kind of motion sickness... :sad2:

Good morning all. In 6 weeks at this time we will be in the terminal waiting to board the magic. Hope that everyone stays cool and has a fine weekend. Mike

I actually have a 4 day Wonder last week of January booked in Secret Porthole room. I have to take advantage of kids not in school yet and 2 year old still free.

I am not sure if I am going to keep it or just move the ressie.

Time will tell.

Mike.

I see you posted at 10:35 EST.

I think you may have it right down.

First in line to enter. 10:15
Drop off luggage. 10:30
Drop off lovely wife while you park car. 10:32
Rendezvous with wife. 10:34
Enter terminal 10:35

I don't know.... That is a lot to do in five minutes....

I am basing this off my last Wonder trip where they did not let us drive in until 10:30am

They let us drive in at 10:00 am last time. But that was a couple years ago.

Finally, 6 weeks!

6 weeks from right now we will be biting our nails, hoping they will let us on early. Once we hit the 50 day mark it seems to go pretty fast. I hope that continues to be true. I can't think of much to do now except buy last minute items and begin the task of early packing. Steve thinks I'm crazy. He will throw it all in a suitcase the day before. I won't be able to do that. I just found out I have to go on a buiness trip the first part of that week. I will be coming back Wednesday night (the 19th) and we are leaving the next afternoon (the 20th). That ought to get my panties in a wad.

Next cruise? Steve just told me a couple weeks ago that he would love to go on one of the repo cruises next year. Do you think he waited to tell me on purpose. Becuse now they aren't even letting you put your name on the wait list. I'm going to have to think on it. I am tempted with the 5-day next September. We'll probably use some or all DVC points this next time. So I am lucky and have up to three days after the cruise to book and get a discount. I wish they would give us a OBC when using points. I'm sure we will be deciding at the last minute.

That's my packing style too! :lmao:

Ouch! That's a very tight schedule...

Me too, Eva! :thumbsup2 We're probably cancelling the Mexican Riviera cruise next August as it's looking like an overly expensive vacation so maybe this would be a fun substitute..? :goodvibes

So can you get the 10% discount even if paying with DVC points? I did not know that... :)
