September 22, 2007 -- WESTERN

Hi everyone! I am also just catching up reading. We were in Orlando the first part of July and then went to Chicago for a short trip. Sounds like everone is busy.:)

Transportation: We rent a car on Friday at MCO and drop off at Cape Canaveral on Saturday. I go with whoever is cheapest. Budget, Hertz, Avis all provide free shuttle to/from the ship. This time $40 from Hertz.
I have a question: Is it a pain in the $$! to take a shuttle to a pick up a rental car after getting off the ship? Are they there waiting for you or do you have to call?
We always drive to port but are thinking about flying and renting a car this time.

Actually my wife would prefer if I would tone down my appearance a bit. :hippie:
See pic below? I have matching Crocs for my shirt!!!!

She does however state that it is quite easy to find me in a crowd.

Just picked up a new straw hat for cruise. Put some Disney Pins on it. :cool2:
Now my daughter wears it all day.

Gonna have to go get another hat. pirate:

Chris, It sounds like your wife needs to get a better handle on you! ;)

Well to be honest, there are some things that I could never get Steve to wear. He is pretty conservative and will not wear bright colors or flashy patterns. For about the first 10 years we were married he wouldn't wear a tie unless it was solid or striped. He mainly wears t-shirts for working in the yard or by the pool and I don't think he has ever put a camp shirt on. I'll probably have to bury him some day in a polo shirt. Because I think all other shirts physically repel off his body. :rotfl: Don't get me started on his shoes!

Hi folks

As usual, I'm spending part of my Monday catching up on all the weekend posting.
WELCOME TO ALL THE NEW FAMILIES:banana:

Still waiting to see more Canadian families joining us on this cruise eh! Not to many yet....

Starting to count the days.

#1 Minnie Lover - The rental car shuttles come to the port continuously as the cruise disembarks. Only once did we not make it on the next shuttle, we were about the 7th party in line and waited about 15 minutes. We just prefer to have a car to stop for beer and groceries on our way to WDW after the cruise. I suggest making a reservation in advance.:thumbsup2

oh my...everyones been busy chatting away. I had 3 pages to catch up on.:goodvibes

9 weeks  OH MY... I've got a lot of stuff to get done.

BynnyA... You should have your DD check out the Dis Meet Kids thread that Threesmiths (DD) started for our cruise. It's in the cruise meet area under Kids of 9/22...or something along that lines. There not super busy chatting away....but they've done a little.

Oh...and thanks for looking through some of my scrap pages. Those are from our first cruise. I've got a ways to go on our last one...PLUS I've got to still scan and upload them to Photobucket:goodvibes Some day....;)

I'm suprise to hear your not able to even tell if you have early dinner or late. I understand not knowing the actual seating time...but I thought everyone could see if they had "Main or Late" dinning. But then again doing the CM booking maybe that's diffrent.

Other dis boards.... I've been hitting the WDW boards (atractions, tips, budget, resorts) a good deal lately (trying to get all the tips I can for our trip)...as well as the WDW resturant (DDP) board...trip reports...pre-trip reports...and the Photography board. Those keep me busy:goodvibes OH...and of course the main DCL board.

Outrbnks..Welcome:thumbsup2 When you asked about the passanger list...what exactly did you mean? We have a fair sized list of Dis people...that Brady made up. If you go to her sig you'll see a link "Magical Memory tour 2007" that lists everyone on here...as well as planned/scheduled dis meets. Other than that...I don't think you can get a passanger list.

OH...We stayed at Embassy Suites before our first cruise and LOVED it. It was sooooo easy taking their shuttle from MCO to the hotel...plus the Happy hour and breakfast. WAY good deal. I want to say we got a GREAT rate on Priceline.:thumbsup2

Owtrbnks- Thanks for the tip! We booked flights yesterday ($59 ow on Southwest!) and are looking into getting a car. Our flight leaves MCO at 2:00 so I think that will give us enough time to get a car in Cape Canaveral and drop it off at the airport.

Scrapperjill- I think what Owtrbnks might be asking about is how to actually get put on the cruise list for our cruise. I believe we had to ask Marsha but the list maybe filled?:confused3 I have been trying to get on it also for a couple of months.:)

Michelle, just send Marsha a pm and she will do her best to get everyone on the list. She is kind of busy like all the rest of us:hug: Mike

Thanks Mike- I actually sent he another pm over the weekend, I figured she has just been really busy plus there have been so many new cruisers I am sure it is hard to keep up with everyone. No biggie, I figure I can just introduce myself at the first get together. Can't miss my preggo belly!

FatCat- Please update some of us newbies on terminal attire. I thought some of the men were wearing spandex outfits. Were they just kidding????:) Some of the women on the board have posted some rather tight fitted outfits for the men.

Holy Cow! How many of those things did Disney make? They have been selling them for months now and I have read about everybody and his brother wearing them on departure day. They even had a poll about wearing them on the main cruise board. When will they sell out? :rotfl:

Aren't we suppose to wear lime green for the DIS?

Eva.

Funny. :lmao: I agree. They must have made a bunch.

Perhaps I will buy some extra and give them to relatives as souvenirs so they think I spent a lot of money on them. ;)

As far as terminal day attire goes.

My party of 9 will be decked out in our finest Postcard Pattern Disney Wear.
Feel free to join us. :grouphug: Or just Ignore Us. Either way I will make it easy.

Yes things have really been busy and I apologize I haven't kept up with the website like I planned or should.

Hopefully everyone is one there for now but if not please let me know.

we are getting closer and closer !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Marsha don't make me take your toolkit lady:rotfl:  Hope that things are going well for you, looking forward to having you and Ellouise at our table on board the cruise. Just tell her that we make the 3 stooges look like a meeting of the mensa group.:lmao: :rotfl2: I just wanted to thank you for all the hard work that you do for the list. Mike

Don't worry, I won't ignore you! :) I'm sure your family will look great. I think there are a couple of other groups here on the board that are wearing these the first day too. So you won't be alone. I'm just giving everybody a hard time about it. I had a mother that made our family dress alike all the time and my sister and I hated it. So I rebelled by dressing my girls completely different all the time. I'm one of those women that would be horrified if someone was wearing the same dress as me at the company Christmas dinner.

I want to say thanks to Marsha for taking care of the website too! :thanks: Now I just need to remember to print it off before I leave for the trip.

By the way, Only 59 More Days!
How I love it when the count down is under 60!
