September 22, 2007 -- WESTERN

Actually, we don't get off the ship until 9/29, and there is no Party that night. We'll be going on 9/21, and will be the exhausted ones on the ship that day! :rotfl:

Thanks Tiffany! I just checked and there is a party on the 30th though. So we will either have to wait until Sunday or be tired on the ship as well.... hmm...

You guys can do that spa treatment where 30 minutes = like 2 hours rest.
Be good to go!!!

Today is the 75 Day mark. Final payment for all due!!!
And for on CC members Reservation Day.

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Good morning all.

We have done the MNSSH after the cruise and it was fun. I would recommend for those that can go on the 30th to do so.

For those that are driving down, be sure to remember that September is also love bug season. Make sure that you have your windshield washer filled, and a soft rag with a nylon scrubber on it to get them off of your paint. If you leave them on, the acid in their bodies can eat right through your paint job. Do not use dish washing liquid soap as that removes the wax from your finish. Mike

We did MNSSHP last time before we cruised. However somehow we got lucky and they had the party on both Thrusday and Friday night. We opted to go to the Thrusday night one with the idea of not wanting to be tired for the cruise on Sat. :lmao: Silly us....we were still tired from all the other stuff we did at WDW. A few of the others that we were meeting for the cruise ended up going to MNSSHP on the Friday night...and it didnt' sound like they were any worse off than we were Saturday morning.

Oh...and you can get into the MK with your MNNSHP ticket between 4-5pm. The party won't start until 7pm...and they'll close down most of the park for an hour or so as they set up...but you'll be able to either grab a bite to eat or enjoy the areas they do have open. At 7pm they'll open it all back up (at least what they'll have up and running for the party).

If your considering going Friday night before the cruise and your arriving on Friday night....I'd go to the hotel as soon as you could (you must be staying in the WDW area) and see if your room was ready. I've heard of people being able to check in earler than the listed check in time "if" a room was ready....so it's worth a try. We're trying this as well when we check in...but our flight lands at 6am...So we'll have a LONG time before the 'actual' check in time. Anyways...See if you can check in as early as possable. If you can't...you can always have them hold your items at the luggage lock up. Then enjoy the pool (relax and get some rest), grab lunch then around 4 head to MK to get into the park. ;)

Hi there everyone....

DH (Alex) catching up on my post reading.:surfweb:

I have probably a stupid question, but I'll ask anyway. What does MNNSHP stand for. The main reason I'm asking is that were flying in on the friday at noon into Orlando airport and were considering heading towards the WDW for the day as a pre cruise teaser. This sound like it could be something good!!
Were always up for adventures when travelling. We figure sleep is over rated and we can do plenty of it at home.

MNSSHP= Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. I think we are going to do it.:)

Awe that makes sense......knew it would something like that. We were there in 2005 and they were just setting up for that as we left. Do you know if there is extended hours on that day. I figured since we land at 12noon we could probably be there for 1:30 / 2pm and enjoy the day instead of sitting in a hotel all day. How about park tickets? We were just going to buy them at the gate. Any recommendations for only 1 day or just the party?

The website says tickets are $38.95 (ages 10+) and $32.95 (ages 3-9). It says that the party is from 7pm -12am but some on here said they will let you in a little early. I haven't checked into that part yet.

HHHmmm thats sounding pretty good! Sounds like thats where we'll be. Provding my PDW (P stands for pregnant, I just made that up):rotfl2: is feeling up to it.

Thanks for the info...

If you are going to MNSSHP then there is no reason to get a day pass to another park in my opinion since they let you in early.

If you have more time to kill I would recommend going to Downtown Disney and then taking bus to Contemporary. It is a short walk or a longer monorail ride to MK.

Or if you are staying at Contemporary or other Monorail resort problem solved.

OK, so I don't need a park ticket for the day to go to MNSSHP? We are just planning a couple days in the parks the week we are there. So if I have to pay for a park ticket plus the party ticket, then we are going to skip it. But if I can just pay the $38.95, we might reconsider.

We just spent some time looking at the disney website re:MNSSHP. We were going to do and night but have also decided to just do the night... It looks fantastic, especially for the kids.
Does any one know if most of the attractions are open. Especially, the must do fav's like Pirates, Haunted house, SpaceMountain, etc.
And will they let you in early?:confused3

I can't think of a better way to prepare for the cruise, and for those arriving a day or so early!

Spoke to PDW and were going!!!:woohoo:

We went to MNSSHP in Oct 2005 just before our last cruise...We ended up getting a day ticket PLUS a MNSSHP ticket. However...IF I would have known that with the MNSSHP ticket we could have gotten into the parks at 4pm and not as late as 7pm...then I would have considered just doing the party ticket and not the day ticket as well. I sorta left feeling like I wasted some money having both the tickets. NOW if you'd planed on doing say AK which closes earler....then it may be worth buying both tickets. Anywho....I'm rambling. We started seeing people about 4pm walking around with these colored wristbands...we soon found out these were for people with MNSSHP tickets...so they could tell who was a party goer and who wasn't.

I don't remember the exact time (I think it was between 5-6pm) but they do shut down most of MK (I think it was tomarrowland that was kept open) to get everyone that's not a party goers out...during that time everyone that's there for the party has to go into the land that's kepts open while they set everything up. When we went this is when we planned our dinner at CRT:love:(the time most everything was shut down for the transition ....by the time we got done with dinner the party was in full swing...and went strong until midnignt :goodvibes

IMO...it was well worth it. They have tons of 'extra' activites set up....like trick-or-treating..where you'll get TONS of candy...I mean TONS. And LOTS of the attractions open. :goodvibes I know Haunted Mansion was open...cuz I do remember doing that one...other than that I can't remember. BUT I do remember not being disapointed in finding something closed. Which leads me to 'think' I didn't come across any of the major attractions not in operation. But again...I don't really remember what was open and what wasn't.

The parade was cool and the fireworks AWESOME:thumbsup2

Anyways...I was saying IMO it was well worth it...BUT others in my group didn't think it was. I'd LOVE to do it again this year BUT I don't think we will....we've planned a day at Typhoon lagoon that Friday:goodvibes

Just popping in to say 'bye'!

I've really gotta focus now - cab's due in just over 4 hours and I'm not finished packing yet! As I said, I'll try and pop in from time to time but I'll definitely be back online from August 4th...

I'M REALLY GOING TO MISS YOU ALL!!! :grouphug:  :grouphug:

Karen, I'm sure you have left by now. I hope when you read this you are safe and sound in Spain drinking a fancy drink and enjoying the sun. :beach:
I look forward to your pictures from your trip.

We went to MNSSHP last year and it was a blast!! We did it the night before the cruise and was not at all tired the next morning (well OK, maybe it was a little hard to get up, but once we were up we were ready to go cruise!!). All of the main rides were opened, so pretty much anything people wanted to go on. I don't even recall what rides were closed. There was no waiting in any lines at all. I am now considering if we want to go on the 21st. I don't yet know what time we will arrive in Orlando, so I guess it will be a wait & see.

Anyhow, off the subject of cruising....My DS played in his first baseball tournament of the season on his new team and they won their first 3 games and the semifinals, so tonight he is in the Championship game!!!!:woohoo: My DD is also swimming in her first Conference tonight!!:woohoo: I am so excited for them, I only wish they were on seperate days as I will need to miss one of them and since my DH is the coach of my DS team, I will be at swim instead. My only delima now is how to get pictures of both. I have given my smaller camera to a friend in hopes that she can get some shots at the game. :confused3 Wish us luck!!!!Go Blue Demons (Anthony)!! Go Barracudas (Peyton)!! Yep, I am a proud Mom!!

Karen, you have probably left by now, but enjoy and stay safe!!

Welcome:welcome: to all of our newbies!! Fatcat, yes there does seem to be alot of cruises from Illinois...we are from the South Suburbs of Chicago and I work downtown. An RV might have been a great idea!!! We could have started early on the Miami Vices, Mojitos, etc. while the kids got to know one another.:drinking1

Kathy

Bye Karen, have a great holiday in Spain. We will all miss you.

Kathy and I will be leaving Saturday morning for a week in Orlando. Taking the laptop to process photo's. May check in from time to time. Mike

Well, I live in Pekin, IL. I'm just about 25 minutes or so off of I55. Could the RV stop for Steve and I???? Oh wait, how will we get back? We are spending the following week at WDW. Darn, I guess we will have to drive ourselves. Anyone thinking what I'm thinking?........CONVOY!

Hey! My BIL is an owner operator. His rig looks a lot like this one. Maybe we could hire him out for the trip. He drove his rig down with us last May to WDW and we had a blast! I was glad that PO lets you park semis in their lot. I sure couldn't imagine what the guard at OKW would have said if Robert had pulled up in his semi with a full load.

The price of gas would probably kill us!!
