Birmingham huh...

Have not been there.

I have been to London and to Leeds.

I assume you are going to fly out of London.

Are you going to arrive early and purchase a fancy new digital camera?

I have several work colleagues from the UK that I have to take shopping for
cameras, golf clubs, and DVDs.

Birmingham's OK really - I give the place a hard time because everyone talks with a weird accent (we'll give you a taster on the cruise ) and I grew up there! It has a long industrial history and is surrounded by some wonderful countryside...

Yes, we'll be flying into MCO from London Gatwick the day before and hope to get a little retail therapy upon arrival tho' I hadn't thought about shopping for a new camera - given the exchange rate, that's not a bad idea! I recently ordered a new Canon but it's gone astray in shipping so that's not happening. I usually purchase skin care products as, whatever the exchange rate is doing, they are excellent value for money in the US...

My favorite things in UK are Yo Sushi in Paddington station and those little indvidually wrapped Dairy Milk cadbury chocolates. Cadbury in the US is made in Pennsylvania. Bleh

Now there you go - Cadbury's chocolate was originally made about a mile from where I grew up in (wait for it) Birmingham!!! Cue "It's a Small World"...

OK I just cancelled by Cozumel DCL Beach Excursion at Playa Mia due to some recent negative reviews.

I booked Nachi Cocum. We are not looking for the super party atmosphere.

Anyone been to Nachi Cocum?

Sorry, we are doing the jeep tour in Cozumel. The one good thing about that is I can sleep in and maybe do a bit of shopping that day. The tour doesn't leave until 11:45.

Heh. I finally figured out a Fish Extender is not for fishing.

I know we are doing the green wristband thing. Do I need to worry about getting a fish extender???

My daughter just saw the picture on another board and announced she wanted one. I may get here one for her bedroom regardless.

One of the good things to bring also is a small dry eraser memo board that is magnetic. Kind of like a refrigerator magnet that you can write notes on and then erase. Leave messages for your friends to tell them where you are. Mike

Your reservation on the DCL website will have the times for your excursion. Since it is about 8 hours long, I would guess that you will meet by 9:00 or so. Our excursion in Grand Caymen meets at 8:30. YUCK!

Morning all!
We were about to slip onto page 2 so I thought I'd push us back to the top!

DH and I had quite a late night after our 'date' yesterday evening and when we got up this morning, desperately needing that first cup of coffee, what did we discover??! Eldest DS had come home in the early hours and used all the milk for a stupid milkshake!!! Kids, eh? The youngest one breaks up from school today and will be home until early September which is great - he'd never use all the milk ...

DH reassured me about the early starts - when we come to the US (due to time difference) we're not usually slugabeds, so getting up for excursions shouldn't be a problem. That's the theory at least...

Just remember Karen, when you get grandchildren they are God's gift to you for not killing your own. Love our children, but the grands are a lot more fun.

I think I'm going to have to keep that in mind over the next few months, Mike! My eldest DS (almost 22) has returned to live with us full-time after spending most of the last 3 years away at Uni - he doesn't have a job yet and is spending way 2 much time under my feet. I love him dearly but I love my space too! Once the summer's out of the way, he's promised faithfully to hunt down employment with energy and determination...
