September 22, 2007 -- WESTERN

Good tips!! We took a duffel bag inside our suitcase last time and we had the perfect amount of space for goodies!!!! :goodvibes However I think we will need to bring a bigger one this time as I am already making mental notes on things I want to get!:woohoo:

i bought a duffle bag at Walmart that folds and zips up to be flat until needed. so it packs very well. then when ready to use, unzip and open it out. when done zip it back up and its flat again.

they have several sizes like 20 inches, 24 inches etc...

works great really in packing to go, as takes up little to no room in luggage.

good luck

Remember if you are a CC member you will get a couple or bags as a gift too. They may not work well for checking at the airport. But they could work for people that are driving or just want something to hold a few things to carry on with them. I'm told they work well for laundry too.

Hello there, This will be our first cruise (Dis. or otherwise):yay:
We are a DW, a DD and a DD(11 yrs)
Looking forward to the ports as well. We are hurricane season travellers always. (We're tougher than most)
See you there!:woohoo:

welcome realfam.

I am updating the website for our cruise (link is in my signature).
To make sure I am adding the correct info:

realfam (Alex)
DW-Michelle
DD-Megan 11yo

is this correct? do you want to add your seating, deck/stateroom, any celebrations?

Thank you Brady for adding us to your group!
Just one thing, Disney Daughter is MAGGIE (short for Margaret actually)
We have a late seating. We are on Deck 2, in room 2550.
We have a little bit of Dis experience. We did The World (Sept/05), 8 days straight, 13 hrs a day :scared1: . Us Canadian's can hack just about anything.

DH has been doing all the research thus far and our first package came today. Very exciting! so no questions yet, just enjoy seeing all you happy people yaking to each other.

Oh...Man...I had so many pages to catch up on. :confused3 You guys have been too busy posting.;)

WELCOME RealFam:thumbsup2 Glad to have more cruisers aboard :thumbsup2 And seasoned hurrican travlers.

Papa...That totally sucks about the tail light. Good thing you got her plate #. I'm sure she'll be regreating the hit and run bit. I believe that's a HUGE HUGE fine. Did you report it to the police as well as the insurance?

Oh...Our groups is also staying at All Star Movies after the cruise. Only for one night (I wish it was longer)....we're doing Pop for 4 nights before and figured it'd be nice to try a diffrent value resort for the night we get off the ship.

I can't believe all the birthdays going on. We're actually just wrapping up our birthday week here. :goodvibes We have a CRAZY time in our family...all four of our birthdays fall in a week. Starting on May 24 with DH's, the 28th DD...today the 31st for other DD's and tomarrow for mine :thumbsup2 Needless to say by the time my birthday rolls around were totally partied out....I can't even stand to look at another cake.

Kim...I was going to ask you if you revieved your DCL Travel kit yet. We haven't...but when we were at Judy's this weekend she'd just recieved hers. It's COOL and packed full of lots of useful info. I think it's just about the same info we got in the travel kit before...but this ones alot cooler. I wonder why some people would get them while others don't? And I wonder if there's any number to call to request one. I haven't asked Cyndi if she recieved hers or not...maybe I'll do that later today.

I think I need to get busy and onto some planning ASAP. I need to dig out our cruise clothes and see what I still need to get.

Eeeks...I'm feeling so behind. :confused3

Marsha... I think we have the same bag!:lmao:
I got mine last year while traveling back and forth to California when racing. It's a good bag for racing shirts, extra sandles and a couple of bottles of sun screeners and towels.:boat:

Hey Sandi! :wave2: Glad to see you checking in. Wishing you and your family a very...

That's one birthday-packed week! :thumbsup2 We have a few around the same time but they're all spaced out. It was my DS14's birthday on Wednesday, it's mine in three weeks and then DS22's a month after that. Lovely time of year to celebrate...

I really want to get new luggage but just haven't seen anything that's grabbed me. :sad2: So I might stick with my existing bits which fit inside each other on the outward leg and then give me extra space for souvenirs on the homeward journey...

Well, Happy Birthday to the Whole Clan! :cake:

Happy Birthday to all that are celebrating.

For everyone that are going on shore excursions, a few of the insect repellent towelettes might be a good idea to pack also. Especially if you are planning to tour the ruins in Cozumel area. There is bottled water in the cabins and at the gangway on shore days for a price. Purchase a bottle and then use the empty to refill it from the ships water. Sorry I am cheap, but I am the oldest of 6 children and the wife is oldest of 8. Big families, limited resources when we were growing up.

Does anyone else hate wearing their life preservers at the drill. They have newer ones now that do not stick out like a surf board from your neck. Mike

Mike, That is a great idea about the towelettes. Much more convenient than the spray and easier to pack and tote around. Boy, I do hate wearing those preservers! On a woman it is even worse, if you know what I mean. ;)

There is a really cool PFD that you inflate. It looks like a back pack with a rip cord that makes it inflate. Doesn't look bad even on a woman.
I haven't found a person yet that looks good in "Save me Orange":rotfl:

Thanks Mike! :thumbsup2 I've bought a few packs of wristbands impregnated with insect repellent as I get a reaction to some of the brands. I shall be testing them out in Spain during July as I normally get attacked quite badly there. :scared1:

I always do this as I hate paying up for bottled water and I can't really tell the difference between bottled and tap anyway...

Oh yes! :thumbsup2 I was horrified when I tried mine on - not a good look... :sad2:

If I remember correctly, bottle water is recommended for drinking while in Cozumel. Also remember to check the tv in your cabins for tips such as the proper price for taxis at different ports of call. Also check the personal navigators as there is information in their about numbers to call in cases of emergency, and the different agents for the cruise line in different ports.

If you are on a Disney sponsored tour, and it is late, they will hold the ship till you return. If you do a tour on your own, the ship will depart on schedule. Mike

Hey gang
I am having some difficulty updating the website but haven't forgotten to do so. Will try to work on the program this weekend so can get it updated.

Oh, a friend that is going with me in about 20 days on the Wonder has decided to go with me in Sept WOO HOO.

She is also a Diser: luvalldisney. I hope to add her to the booking on Monday. She has cruised on DCL before.

Once she has confirmed with me of going I will add her to my reservation, and add her to the website. Oh, and since we both have Pal Mickeys and plush Minnies we dress, we will do like we are for June cruise.... each of us bring one kid. So she will be bringing Pal mickey and I will bring Minnie. that way only two 'kids' to keep up with, pack for, dress etc.. rather than 4 'kids' LOL.

Hope all have a good weekend. We are finally getting some rain greatly needed. Just hate that it had to come on the weekend though. Guess this weekend will be one to work on website program glitches, read a book, sleep, and relax. I probably should clean but ummm nah why should I work cleaning on the weekend? LOL
