September 22, 2007 -- WESTERN

Karen I use an Intel Imac for most of my computer useage. Have a windows desktop and a windows laptop. Have had a powerbook in the past. Love the Mac OS X operating system. (Tiger) Hope everything gets squared away. Mike

I ordered a new Macbook earlier in the week and it arrived today -

Ok Karen, there's the first problem ....... :lmao: Sorry, Am I letting my PC show? :rotfl2:

4 Months and 4 Days Everyone!

Actually I have a countdown on my desktop that shows 4 months and 2 days, since we are leaving two days before the cruise. Does anyone know what date we will call for Palo and such, if you are a CC member? I know it is 90 days out. But this ex-math teacher can't count to find the exact date. :teacher:

JUNE 24TH Sorry am I letting my Mac side show?:lmao: :rotfl: Eva as you were a teacher my heart goes out to you. Any job dealing with the public at large is a royal PITA. Mike

Mike, It's funny, but the 5 years I spent teaching high school math were some of my most rewarding years at work. There are days that I really wished I was doing it again. I deal with adults in companies now and feel some of them are worse than most teenagers I taught. At least you can expect goofy behavior from teenagers. I haven't figured out how to explain the client that thinks making me wait for over an hour in their waiting room is a way to show who is in charge. Most of the teens in my classroom had better manners. I have learned my lesson and do not wait one second past 30 minutes for a client anymore. Sorry, didn't mean to jump on my soapbox.

Eva the only reason that I know the 90 day mark, is that online check in begins then.

Have discovered how to marinate and cook a flat iron steak. Good eating and thrifty too. Mike

Yeah, it will, Mike - I am a confident Mac user through and through! :thumbsup2

If I had to add up how many PCs I've gotten through compared to Macs - it's scary! Actually every Mac I've ever had is still going compared to 5 PCs... In fact, I've just had a PC play dead on me as a result of a virus - lost a load of photos and music...Very disappointing... Anyway I'm sure it'll all be fine when the guy gives me a new modem on Tuesday!

Just in case y'all were wondering, it's 126 days till we're cruisin'... :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I ordered a new Macbook earlier in the week :

We just ordered a refurb black MacBook yesterday. I have not had a Mac since the early 90's (LC II I think was the model); before I went over to the dark side :guilty: . Everytime we go to the mall, we stop the Apple store and play with the Macs. I can't entirely abandon the dark side because that is how I make my living (system administrator/software tester).

Waiting with worms on my tongue (bated breath  ) for the new iMacs to come out. Really love their design.

Penny and I need to start planning our cruise as the reservation date is coming up rapidly. We know we want to do Palos one night, but outside of that, it is a blank.

I guess that we will have to start looking at the excursions soon. Mike

Time is getting closer to sailing. Mike

Picked out our excurtions already!
Now just waiting for the day to book all the goodies!:cool1:

Just think... ONE DAY CLOSER!!!:cheer2:

Good morning one and all!

It's pouring with rain here in grey London and I'm only cheerful because Mr. FedEx delivered my MVMCP tickets a little while ago! :thumbsup2 Also I discovered this morning that our local council has refused the planning application for an extension to our house so I was pretty peeved about that too - until the tickets arrived! You can aways rely on Disney to spread some cheer... :woohoo:

Excursion-wise, I need to pin DH down about what to do in Cozumel. I think we might go for the Tulum Ruins excursion and do the Xcaret Eco-park when we visit in December 2008 with the family. In Grand Cayman, we're leaning towards the Thriller Sand & Sea Adventure and we're happy to just mooch about doing our own thing in Key West...

Went to Carraba's tonight for dinner http://www.carrabbas.com/companyinfo.asp Enjoyed it very much, except for the guy at the next table talking about his prostate surgery. Mike

Yikes! That's sounds fun - not. When DH and I went out to dinner a couple of weeks ago, the guy at the table next to us slipped his shoes off (what's that about?) and OMG the stench! :scared1: We left asap... :sad2:

Bob, We may have to ban work talk at dinner. DH is a IT manager at an insurance company. He has been in the business for over 20 years. But he is in the development side. He manages about 30 developers. I took some programming classes in college, and all I can say is, YUCK! I hate coding. I used to teach classes at a computer training company after teaching high school math, but I am not a networking guru either. I taught applications, graphic design, project management, and database admin. But I have been out of the classroom for about 3 years now.

Karen, I was only joking about your Mac. My daughter is a graphic designer for CAT tractor company and we bought her a really nice Macbook too. They are great for a number of applications. I've actually taught classes on both. People just have a tendency to get accustom to one or the other.

Wow, I still need to pay off the cruise. I am going to do that right this minute. Then I better start finalizing our excursions, spa appointments, and night for Palo.

Work? What work? I'm gonna be on vacation! Of course, if your hubby and I can figure out a way to hack into the navagation system and start heading for the Med.... :rolleyes1

Note to self: Need to start planning excursions
Note to Penny: Where are we going? :confused3

Bob, I agree 100%!

OK, I am dialing the number right now to pay off the cruise. I can not figure out why I have procrastinated on this one. Usually I am eager to do everything right this minute. Maybe because I need to call to make the final payment. I want to verify our Disney Visa onboard credit.

Finally taken care of! Glad I called, they didn't have our $50 credit noted.

I know that Karen is renewing her vows on the cruise and will have all the things included in the Romantic Escape package. But I wondered if anyone out there (especially those celebrating their anniversary) are thinking of doing the package for the cruise in September? I keep trying to justify the cost. If I knew we would use the Rainforest room a few times, it might be worth it. But we have never even set foot in the spa before. I do plan on getting a hot stone massage this trip. But is the Rainforest room something really special? The main reason I am thinking of getting this package is for the priority seating reservations at Palo. The lady at at DCL said that they will take care of the reservation for you. That would be great. Plus it does include the Romance Basket that I was going to order anyway. Any thoughts?

Penny and I are; partly for the advanced reservations and partly for the contents. Since we have never done this before, I do not know if it is worth the price. I have never done a spa before either. Since what happens on a cruise stays on a cruise, I figure they won't drum me out of the Chief's club for the spa thing....

I know! New Macbook is a sexy piece of kit and I can understand that you're just jealous! ;) :rotfl2:

We booked the REAS package before we arranged the Vow Renewal, Eva - I think it seems excellent value, tho' that could be the exchange rate talking... Obviously we've cancelled it for this trip, but will definitely book it for our future NYE 2008 cruise as that's costing megabucks so no Cat.3 upgrade there.:sad1: Seriously, it's such a cool way of getting those 105 day ressies without forking out for a suite!

Talking of Spa virgins, my DH doesn't really know what it's all about - tho' he nodded approvingly during my explanation. Poor guy, I don't think he has a clue what he's letting himself in for - he really should've paid more attention during "Cruising with Karen 101..." ;) :rotfl:

That's the same reason why we dont do "red eye"... or should I say "stink feet":scared1: We did the red eye for the maiden voyage and hated it all the way. Too many businessmen headed home from Las Vegas!:scared:

I love Tulum.. so beautiful.

Mike, the food at Carrabba's sounds wonderful! Yummmmmpopcorn::
