Marsha enjoy your upcoming 3 day cruise on the Wonder next month. Mike

Good morning everyone. Hope that you all are having a great day.

Kathy purchased a new digital camera for the cruise, but more so for the grandkids photos. She is more comfortable using her small camera than using my digital slr. A great site for all things digital with regards to cameras is located at http://www.dpreview.com

Don't forget to get underwater disposable cameras to take to the beach with you. Mike

We received our travel kit today! :yay: :cheer2:
Looks very nice.

Received the last of the 3 yesterday! Nothing better then DCL Mail.
Well there is.... WINNING THE LOTTERY.
But the chances are :headache:
So I guess I'll take the DCL Mail.

One Day Closer to the Cruise:banana: :yay: :cheer2: :cool1:

Oooh, we've not received anything yet! Only 120 days to go tho'... :woohoo: :cool1: :cheer2: :yay: party: :yay: :cheer2: :cool1: :woohoo:

I'm looking for a new digital camera too, Mike. What did Kathy end up getting? I'm a basic 'point & shoot' type of a person but now I want something a bit more challenging. Famous last words...

We've had great weather this week in London, so I went to the garden centre yesterday and splashed out £££ on some new plants and pots for the patio which is all being delivered tomorrow. It's going to look fab. Now the weather report is saying it's going to be cold and wet over the Bank Holiday weekend (monday is a national holiday here in the UK) so it doesn't look like we'll be BBQing and enjoying my revamped patio after all...

Anyone going to see POTC 3 over the next week? We're going next Wednesday to celebrate my DS's 14th birthday... pirate:

Karen...
First... we went and saw POTC3 just tonight. AWASOME!!! Stay till the end... after the credits. You'll have a great surprise! Stay in your seat...pirate: !
Happy B-Day to your DS :bday: :cake:

Dh and I are ordering 2 new cameras with housings for underwater. We'll try them out this summer before the trip. Sony DSW-W200.
I still like the 2 underwater ones we have, they're old(about 9y.o.). They take film but heck... they're still a good little land camera.
What can I say... DH is a photographer... and he's gotta try everything out!:thumbsup2

Thanks for the heads-up, Ann! :thumbsup2 Really looking forward to seeing it... pirate: :cool1:pirate: I'll pass on your birthday wishes to Samuel - I just can't believe my baby's going to be 14... :sad2:

Happy birthday to Samuel.

Karen a good beginners digital slr camera is the Pentax K100D. It has the scene modes, image stabilization and uses AA batteries. If you get this one, be sure to get the pentax 16-45mm lens instead of the kit lens. I have owned Canon digital slr's, but I like the Pentax more. The most important thing is to go to a camera store and try out the various models and brands. Whatever fits your hand and you are comfortable with is the best for you.

120 Days Mike

Hi all! We received our travel kit on Wednesday too. I hate to say it, but I haven't had much time to look it over yet. We also received our passports on Monday.

Yikes! 120 (or is it 119) days to go!

I need to make a decision soon about the REAS package. Only 14 more days to reservations for people in a suite or with that package.

I wish I would have read all the recommendations on cameras before buying one just a few weeks ago. Although the one I bought is very user friendly and hasn't taken a bad picture yet. Steve thought that I was funny because I wanted a camera that took batteries and didn't use a charger. I always forget to charge the darn thing. But I never forget batteries. It is so user friendly, that I can shake the darn thing while taking a picture and it still takes a pretty good picture.

Karen, give Samuel a big Happy Birthday?

Can't believe it, but my youngest daughter, Shannon, turns 22 tomorrow!

Happy birthday to your lovely daughter Shannon, Eva.

It is 120 days until we actually depart if I counted correctly. It really doesn't matter one way or the other. It is on the downhill side so to speak. Received our kit several days ago, but I haven't had time to really look at it. Maybe this weekend, when the grand kids are home with their parents.:lmao: Mike

Mike, you are right! I was confused because of Karen's post saying 120 days. When she said it, it was yesterday here and today there. Hmmm, make sense? :confused3 I keep forgeting that she is 6 hours ahead of us.

OK, 120 Days!

Sorry guys if I've been confusing everyone! :lmao: I've been getting the day countdown thing from checking my reservation online at Dreams Unlimited - I haven't been counting personally... I'm sooo jealous of all of you who have received your DCL kits - hope ours comes soon...

I will go and check the cameras out next time I go to a large shopping centre. That's a good point about how they feel in my hand, Mike - I have rather small hands and have found larger cameras a trial in the past. I have a Pentax at the moment - a small waterproof compact that's easy to pop in a pocket... :thumbsup2

Happy birthday to Shannon, Eva! :bday: Won't be too long until ours... party:

Karen, do you have any special plans for your big day? It stinks because June 28th lands on a Thursday. But I have been thinking about taking the next day off and leaving on my B-day to go out of town for the weekend. But I can't seem to think of any place neat to go.

Mmm not sure. I think mine's on a Friday so maybe we'll go somewhere. I'll discuss it with DH at dinner tonight. Alternatively I would love to go to an up-market London restaurant and I seem to recall DH saying something about taking me shopping... :goodvibes

I am having such an annoying day. I stocked up on plants and pots for the garden on Wednesday - everything was supposed to be delivered this morning and guess what? I'm still waiting and it's almost 5pm here!!!! I've rung the garden centre and got a vague "oh he'll be with you soon" answer. Honestly, customer service is so pants here in the UK... :sad2:

*Update*... They've finally arrived and, apart from the delivery guys breaking one pot, everything's in place and looking good!

Congratulations on the plants and pots arriving Karen.

Thinking about going down a day earlier and going to Universal Studios park. I have been, but Kathy has not been to that park. Mike

Thanks Mike! :thumbsup2 Everything looks much better than I'd hoped.

Mike, if Kathy hasn't been to US/IOA you have got to take her! It's brilliant, I'm sure she'd love it... :)

Good morning all. Hope that all have a great weekend and a happy holiday for my fellow American citizens. Mike

While getting breakfast at the local McDonald's, a women scuffed our right rear bumper and cracked the right rear tail light lens. She drove on off as if nothing had happened. We got her license plate number and have turned it into the insurance company. Just a pain in the wazoo, as I now have to take the car into the body shop and have it repaired. Mike

Aw, Mike, sorry to hear that! :( People are just so flippin' careless! DH's car has acquired a mystery scratch on the bottom of the rear right passenger door. It was probably done in Heathrow Airport car park when he left it there last week.

Have a great Memorial weekend everyone. :thumbsup2
