Sounds like the midnight dessert buffet should be a Dis meet!!!

Karen -- the way I look at it is anything that makes me feel better (mentally or physically) can only make me a better mom and wife. It's hard to take care of everyone else when you're not feeling well. The days when I'm feeling sore and fatigued I am definitely in a different mental state of mind, and I am irritable and not much fun to be around for DH or the DDs. In fact, when I went to the doctor 2 weeks ago he gave me a steroid shot to reduce the swelling in my joints, and WOW did I feel GREAT all the way around for a whole week afterward! So if the immune-suppressant drugs have a positive effect on my physical and mental health and makes my everyday life better, then to me the benefits far outweigh the risks.

For what it's worth, I think that you should do whatever makes you feel best.:thumbsup2

Ok see all at dessert buffet just be sure I know where and when <G>

Welcome Timnca and family. I have added you all to our cruiser passengers list.

We are planning on meeting at 3p Mickey's Pool, Starboard side on day of sailing. Hope to see you guys there too.

Stacy, I totally agree! :thumbsup2 I've decided I'm going to go for it - the very thought of some respite has made me feel so much more upbeat that IMO it's a must-do! Thanks for your input and pixiedust: for Friday...

Just Remembering A Fun Thing:
It's funny how when you are not looking while you are at WDW you stumble on to something you haven't seen before! I love how you can find all sorts of hidden pleasures and funky fun at WDW.

I have been looking at the tours available at WDW. Has anyone taken any of these tours, i.e. Backstage Magic, Hidden Treasures of World Showcase? How about Epcot DiveQuest? Just wondered if anyone had experience any of these tours? Thanks all.... Wendy

Hi Wendy,

DH and I did "Keys to the Kingdom" (I think it's still called that) tour and had an AMAZING CM guide named Matthew - they don't allow anyone under age 12 so as not to spoil the magic for little ones. It was 3-4 hours with a break in the middle for lunch (included in the price) - lots of walking but not all outside in the sun - FABULOUS tour, one of our favorites so far.

We've also done "Around the World" Segway tour - twice - because we liked it so much :thumbsup2; the first time we liked our guides better, but it was a great tour both times. Last fall we finished 11:00, JUST in time to walk around the world sampling from the Food & Wine kiosks (early lunch) before the crowds arrived :woohoo:

The third tour we've done is "Undiscovered Future World" and while it was a interesting and informative, it was VERY long and hot, with only a couple of very short breaks to get a drink or snack. We probably wouldn't do that one again. DS/DDIL also did this tour, but had a much less knowledgeable guide than we had - didn't do nearly as much as we did.

DS/DDIL have done one of the diving tours at Living Seas - I don't remember the name of it, but they had to wear swimsuits and put on wet suits (provided), then went into one of the tanks to interact with the inhabitants. They absolutely loved it and can't wait to go again. I do know it wasn't the one with dolphins. If I remember to ask them, I'll get the name of the tour and post it again.

Have fun choosing!!!

BTW, I know just what you mean about finding something new and wonderful every time ... we do too ;)

Wow - had to catch up on 6 or 7 pages of posts after being gone for a week!! Turned out to be one of our more MEMORABLE visits to WDW - some great, some not-so-great, and -as always- too short!! Drive down was made more interesting by about 25 miles of intense thick smoke from GA wildfires - apparently closed the road parallel to I-95 (where we were) that day. DGD's birthday party (Sunday) was fun, Monday was our "perfect" Disney day, capped off with dinner at CG - just the two of us :love2:

Later that night, I fell victim to some kind of stomach/intestinal "thing" An unusual lot of people we know have had something similar this spring - it's been YEARS since I have. I'll spare the details ... and while we did manage to do a few more things over the next few days ... I was not really myself again until Friday. We had a good day on Friday, including meeting DS/DDIL/DGDs at EPCOT for some afternoon fun followed by dinner at the Yacht Club Galley (excellent!):thumbsup2

Then we had to start packing to come back home. :sad2:

I DID find some clothes for the cruise ... and (having to find some good in the thing) did not gain any weight on this vacation

Will try to catch up on other responses soon - just wanted to say HI! :wave2:

Welcome home Penny and family. Sorry about the stomach problems. Mike

Hey there everyone, I am joining you on the 9/22 Magic. I will be traveling with my DD 14, and was hoping she could make some cruise friends before we ever set sail. Also going are DS 11, Girlfriend, and her two kids DS 12, and DD 6. Hope to meet some of you very soon.

:welcome: Tim and family!
No kids going with us on this cruise, but welcome and you bet we'll all be meeting before or at the terminal. In our case... on the ship.:rotfl:

Welcome again... read the back posts and see what kind of cruisers we really are. A Fun loving bunch. Chatty too!:thumbsup2

Hi Penny! :wave2: Glad to see you back - sorry to hear you had an upset tum on your vacation. Just hope you're feeling 100% now...

DD and I are planning on doing this in October - everyone who's experienced the tour seems very positive about it so we're really looking forward to giving it a go! :thumbsup2

Karen the Segway tour at epcot sounds great. May have to give that one a try. Mike

Well, Hi everybody! :wave2: I can't believe I haven't checked in for so many days. I hope everyone is doing great!

Welcome Tim! Glad you are joining our group for the cruise in September. Is this your first DCL cruise? If so, be sure to ask plenty of questions. There are a number of people on this thread that have been quite a few times.

Penny, Sorry about your illness over your trip. That has got to be the worst time to get sick. The WDW tours sound great. We've been thinking about taking the Backstage Magic tour for a couple of years. I just don't know if I want to spend 7 hours of a day in a tour. But it would be neat seeing the backstage of Epcot, MGM, and MK. DH seems drawn to the Segway tour. How difficult are they are to ride? I am not the best at hand and I coordination.

Welcome!!! Our DD will actually be 15 by the time of the cruise, I am sure she would love to include your daughter into our crazy group. We are grouped with about 5 other families and will have approx. 5-6 teens with us! If she would like to correspond via e-mail let me know and I will send my DD address and they can chat!:goodvibes

Segway's are very easy to ride. The cast members spend about an hour with you showing you how to get on, off, back up, maneuver, etc. They ensure that you know what you are doing before you are let loose in the park. I think they have switched to newer models that are supposed to be even easier to ride. There are two cast members with you on the tour and they can go faster than you can, so no hijacking the Segway's. We had a lot of fun. You also get a special pin at the end of your tour. I think you will like it.

Thanks. That was from our dinner at the California Grill about four hours before the bug got Penny.
Awww - such a shame... :sad2:

Just got off the phone to Disney and have booked the Segway Around the World and Keys To The Kingdom tours for my October trip with DD! :woohoo:

Already have a few ADRs in place (didn't want too many as mainly going to enjoy the Food & Wine Festival) as well as our MNSSHP tickets so we are officially set! :thumbsup2

Hope everyone's having a good day... :)

Spent the last six hours at the Toyota dealership getting a key fob reprogrammed. @ hour job took 6 hours:sad2: :sad2: Mike

6 hours???????????? OMG they must have had to drive out of state to get it :rotfl:

Ever wonder how much better customer service would be if we charged them for our time waiting? i.e. like at docs office i told doctor he owed me so much money of my salary since i had to wait to see him. I hate having to wait for an appt whether that's car related, doc/medical related etc... if you give me a time to be there, then i expect to be seen or taken care of at that time. not hours later <G>

So you got the key though right?

It is a smart key system on the Prius. You just keep the fob in your pocket, step on the brake and press the power button on the dash. If the car is locked, you just touch the inside of the door handle and the car unlocks.

They didn't know how to program the key correctly and had to call the district help line and wait for technical help.

Would have like to have done the segway tour at epcot, but body is too heavy:rotfl: Mike

oh how cool. so you don't have to put a key in, just push a button? I have seen commercials for some cars that advertise this system.

So how are you enjoying the car? Have any pictures to share?

Exciting to hear about ppl including you on getting a new car, esp with such neat features. :goodvibes
