September 22, 2007 -- WESTERN

The oldest girl spends Monday through Friday during the day while her parents work, other than preschool 3 times a week. The youngest will also be a 5 day a week girl. Her mom and dad are moving closer to us.

Haven't had a chance to take a photo of the car yet. It is called a super white color. Here is a link. http://john1701a.com/prius/prius-colors.htm Ours is a 2006 model. Mike

WOW nice looking car Mike.

OMG!!! I can't beleive it's been soooo long since I've posted here. Where has the time gone. I had to read through PAGES to get caught back up:eek:

First off I want to say WELCOME to Timnca and family:yay: and to say...we do have a DD that will be 14 (her b-days comming up soon) and I'm sure she'd LOVE to meet some other kids her age. We do have a group of teens going....BUT as it happens to be it's an odd number and I'm thinking my dd is going to be overlooked or pushed aside. :confused3 Anyhow...I'm sure she'd LOVE to chat and get to know your dd befor the cruise. She actually did this before our first cruise and had a blast once she actually met up with the people she was chatting with ahead of time. Actually that's how we met ThreeSmiths and her family (besides Stacy and I chatting on the dis). Her daughter and my youngest daughter chatted via e-mails before the cruise and LOVED it...once they met in the terminal they hardly wanted to be apart.

I also wanted to say WELCOME to JR:yay:

Like I was saying before...I CAN NOT believe it's been so long since I've been here. Time has just FLOWN by...or I guess it's just that I've been sooo busy I haven't had time for anything. DH and I Chair the Great Strides event here in town (we've done it for the past 5 years...I think) and we finally had our event date last weekend. Anyways I've been totally busy and wrapped up in getting everything ready and in order. After it was done and over I was happly suprised to hear we raised $34,000!!! That's a record for us....in 2006 we raised $20,000 and our goal for this year was $21,000....so $34,000 is quite a NICE jump. Other than being swamped with walk event stuff we've been busy going to Seattle Children's hospital for our youngest dd (Sydney). We've had to take her over once a week for the past few weeks for some check-ups and starting some new treatments. Last Thursday we went for a test dose of a new mediciation as well as to the ENT specilist....after spending 8 hours in the hospial...we left with two HUGE bags full of meds and machines as well as a list of follow up appt and a surgery scheduled :guilty: We were hoping the ENT Dr. didn't say she'd need surgery again...but she does:sad2: On the bright side by the time the cruise comes around she should be doing good and feeling top notch (at least that's our plan. So as you can see between the frequent trips to Children's, the walk event, work and other tasks I just haven't had much dis time at all...and BOY am I gong through withdrawls. :rolleyes1

Stacy....I think I'll be just as lost as you'll be this time....We are on deck 6...which is a first for us. The past two cruises we've been on 7 and REALLY liked it. We would have picked deck 7 again but one of the groups that had planned on going with us wanted a verhanda on deck 6...so we all booked on deck 6 then the person that HAD to have deck 6 cancled:rolleyes: I think we'll be just as happy there...but it'll be one more thing to confusse me. I also wanted to say I'm sorry to hear about the possable RA. I hope everything works out for you for the best. And that if that is what it is...your able to find a treatment that will work for you. I was also going to say...I can't believe you missed the dessert buffet BOTH years. We'll have to make sure we stop by your stateroom this year and pick you up.

Marsha...I'm happy to hear you got your power chair. That must have sucked to get it then not have the ramp But I'm glad things worked out and the ramp was able to be installed with little wait.

OH...also I wanted to tell everyone Sydney brought home more postcards last week and she is LOVING it. She gets soooo excited everytime one arrives and she has to pull out all of the cards and reread each and everyone:flower3: Thanks you everyone :grouphug:

Eva....WAY TO GO!!! Being smoke free for 2 months. :cheer2: Keep up the good work. My mom stopped smoking over a year ago...totally out of the blue. She'd been a smoker since I can remember (actually long before that)...Anyways I NEVER thoguht I'd see the day she'd be a non smoker...but I'm so happy I did and I'm soooo proud of her for doing it. Anyways...way to go:cheer2:

KIM!!! :confused3 WHY did you have to bring up the whole thing about Peyton not being fed.... I felt SOOOOO bad about that and now I'm feeling bad again.

Kathy...again...I'm SOOOO SORRY for not making sure Peyton was fed that night. Bless her heart she was so quite and so well behaved that whole dinner. I just couldn't believe we ALL ate while she sat there and just watched us. Then seeing her big tears when she saw you and Jim walk in...and hearing her say she didn't get to eat :guilty: OH man...I'm feeling terrible. I PROMISE...I'll feed your kids this year. :flower3:

MIKE...Trolling:eek: You've shocked me:upsidedow

I know there was some posts about door decor and magnets....but I thought not to long ago we were all talking about how DCL is NOT allowing any decorations to be put up on the doors any longer...is that not the case? I'm planning on making magnetics for our doors no matter what. I figure I'll take them, put them up and if they say no...then I can take them down. BUT I guess it would be nice to have some idea on what to expect.

Dressing up for pirate night? We did in the past. Not a bunch...but just priate tees and dark shorts or skirts. Oh I almost forgot scashes and bandanas :) I'm guessing we'll do the same thing this year. We did get Sydney a priate costume for halloween last year...and if it still fits I'm thinking she'll wear that....and I did just order myself a new POC shirt from Disney online today. I'm sure there will be a TON of people in the same shirt...but oh well

As to what I'm looking forward to....the DRINKS :woohoo: and a Mickey Bar;)

I had to laugh:rotfl: when I read about all the looking over the menus and picking what to order....I did that SAME exact thing before our other cruises...more so for the first one...but a fair amount for the second one as well. I'm sure I'll find myself looking them over before to long picking the perfect combo ;)

Whew!!! Now I'm caught up. I'm going to try and keep up to date...it's alot of work playing catch up on everything:sad2:

BTW.....we're ONE more day CLOSER to cruise day:banana:

Nice to have you back, Sandi!:flower3: Sorry to hear about Sydney. Sending her pixiedust: and  - hope the new meds and surgery are a success... Congrats on raising so much $$$ - you and your DH must have worked very hard... :thumbsup2

BTW I just checked and our cruise starts in a mere 133 days!!! :woohoo:

Not sure what we'll be wearing for Pirate's Night - probably t-shirts and accessories rather than a full-blown outfit as that'll take up too much valuable suitcase space. I did see a couple of gorgeous kids outfits based on POTC3 in the Disney Store on Wednesday - not too mention a very impressive Davy Jones mask! I wonder if I could force DH's head into it..?

Wearing our pirate tees from last cruise and shorts. Gave our inflatable swords from McDonald's to our servers on last cruise. With the new movie coming out I am sure that there will be more available. Mike

Sandi... Hope all goes well with Sydney. And welcome back!

We just came back from our DGD's pre-school's graduation. All of the kids looked so cute in purple and gold. Rachel will be returning for next year since she's only is 3 and will be 4 next week. We came home a bit early... it was getting too hot for any outdoor activity today before noon 98 and heading for 107 again.:scared:

Sandi, all the best to you and Sydney.

Ann that is too hot:scared1: even though it is dry heat. Muggy as the dickens here today with scattered rain showers. Got up to 90 F (32 C) here yesterday and today almost that hot with about 98% humidity today. Mike

Can someone show me in the rule book of life, that says "If you put on a clean shirt, that the baby automatically must upchuck down your shoulder and back:rotfl2: " Love new babies and their soft skin with those tiny toes, but they are little up chuck machines.

Marsha we were at the restaurant this morning after I picked up the wife, and on the tables were little ads for Key Lime Pie:banana: Mike

ITA. Shirts and accessories are the way to go for us as well. I think it's so nice seeing people in full costumes all decked out...but the way I over pack to start with:confused3 I'd need a whole other bag just for priate night....and well...I just don't think DH will go for that. ;)

98% humitidy.....YUCK!! Up here in Yakima we get hot...but its a nice dry heat. Great for me...but not so good for Sydney:confused3 She dose much better in humid places....like the Caribbean

Talking about over packing...I'm thinking about going to AAA tomarrow for a packing seminar they're having.... Anyone ever been to one of those? Just wondering what to expect.

Sandi... you'll have to give us tips on packing. I swear my middle name is "over packed"!
Any tips PLEASE!!!

Mike ... we hibernate all summer if it's over 105! Our pool is usually 95 at the hottest part of summer!

Ann

You're obsessed! I love it!!!
Sorry to hear about Sydney's surgery, I hope that she's feeling well and hope that she'll be even better after surgery! Congrats on earning so much $$$$!!! That's incredible!

Well, DD saw the cruise reservation info that I left lying out, so she's on to me....no suprise this year! She is NAGGING me to start a Kids of the 9/22/07 Magic thread, so I will let her do so sometime over the weekend (after she cleans her room...I love bribery!;) )

Mike, I know the law of baby upchuck only too well. DD 4 mos is a machine! I swear, she spits up more than she keeps down. However the fact that she is 4 mos old, 19 lbs and 26" tells me that she must be keeping some of it down!

Good news from the DR. : No rheumatoid arthritis, but fibromyalgia instead. I don't know much about it, I have to do my research, but it is better than RA.

We're off to Atlanta for DH's brother's wedding...hope everyone has a GREAT weekend!

Amen to that!!! :thumbsup2 DH hasn't even cottoned onto to the fact that some folk will be Jack Sparrow look-e-likees - bless him...

Golden rule of packing - pack what you think u need and then take half of it out! Always works for me... :thumbsup2

I have fibromaylgia. I was dianosed over 21 yrs ago. I cant make it thru a full day with out a nap or hurting. I hope it's just mild like mine. Another friend has it BAD. She cant walk too much in a day, not more then 5 mins at a time.
My longest headache was 46 days.My sleep imbalances have now stopped, all but the no dreaming. Here's a problem..sleep/pain. More pain causes lack of sleep... which ends up lack of sleep causes more pain. The idea is stop the pain.
There is HOPE.... find yourself a GOOD accupuncturest(sp?). He did wonders for me 15 years ago on my hips. Another bit of advice... Keep Moving. Walk... swim, anything. Talk with the Arthristis Foundation, they has alot of info on it! If you want to chat about it just PM me anytime!

Read alot and ask your Dr LOTS of questions! I still do!
Good luck and my heart goes out to you...get well soon:grouphug: pixiedust:

WELCOME Shelly!

You bet you can join us! All newbiew are welcome here.

Ann

:wave2: Welcome Shelly!!!

Hey Mike I just saw this smiley and thought about you and your 2 DGD! :dance3: I bet this is what a day with the three of you looks like! :)

Sandi- Soooo sorry to make you feel bad! I thought it had been long enough that the trauma would have already past. :rotfl: But remember as long as we don't forget the past then we can help prevent it from happening again! And you shouldn't worry about Alexis, I have seen her totally grow as far as standing up for herself. She's definately growing into quite a fine young lady!

Ann- I am glad to hear that you are doing acupuncture. Have you tried or had any success with massage therapy? It might be something to try if you haven't already.

Stacey- Soooo glad to hear that it's not RA. You definately have a lot to try to see what will work best for you with the Fibro. When I was practicing massage therapy, there were several clients who came in on a regular basis to see my boss and they had tremendous success with massage & accupuncture. They were also very sold on water exercise.

Hope everyone has a terrific weekend! I was planning on spending the weekend by the pool, but after a long day in the pool yesterday due to the 100+ weather I am pretty fried. Sooo it looks like I will be waiting for the evening when the pool is in the shade!
