September 22, 2007 -- WESTERN

Hey, Marsha! :wave2: Happy to see you're still around! :thumbsup2 Sorry to hear life is a little frustrating for you at the moment - hope it all gets resolved soon and you can concentrate on moving forwards. As Dory says, just keep swimming...

I'm feeling quite excited as I've just booked MNSSHP for DD and myself on October 8th! :woohoo: We've never been to any of the special MK events before so can't wait. We've booked an early dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern prior to the event - should be fab...

thanks. but this too shall pass.

and yes i keep repeating just keep swimming <G>

Oh you are going to love MNSSHP. Be sure to dress up for it too. You will find it amazing at how many ppl including adults go all out dressing up.

I bought a goofy full costume from disney shopping online and so guess who I will go as this year? Pal and Minn will dress up as one of michael's gang but not as them self <G> Minn maybe Daisy, Pal maybe Donald or Pluto. Oh wait maybe Pal should go as Max?

its a blast and get lots of candy too

Hello Everyone! Just logged in to update you on my latest baby news. I went to the Nurse Practitioner yesterday. Everything looks good. I'm right at 8 weeks. They did another ultrasound. You can almost tell it's actually a baby this time! I go back in 4 weeks to see the Dr. I will continue to keep you updated. If all continues to go well, I will be canceling the cruise next month :sad1: :) Sad, but more Happy. I keep looking up my reservation to see if they have assigned a room. It will make me feel better if we didn't get an upgrade from Cat 12. Isn't that awful?!

Marshmelo, I'm so happy for you. It sounds like all is going well and you will be canceling that cruise soon. It seems funny to be happy for someone canceling their cruise.

Karen, Thanks for the information on Paris. We do plan on getting back there in the near future. Of course, I will have to go to DLP, just to check it out.

Today is 2 Months since I quit smoking!!!!

It's a city that really takes care of itself and ensures the buildings and monuments are all well-maintained. The Tour Eiffel has a fab light show now

I've always wanted to go to France. I majored in French and journalism in college. Got some use out of the journalism, but not much out of the French. There are so many trips I want to take and so little $$$ :confused3 : Greece, Italy, France, Australia (been once but only saw Sydney), Grand Cayman, Key West (hoping to make it there this time ) and the list goes on......

Just trying to boost us up to page 1 and not 2 !:headache:

Marshmelo... Im so excited for the 2 of you! And if you have to cancell a cruise make it a Good one. This is diffinetly a Good one.
Marsha... Hang in there... this too shall pass. Let them work out the kinks and enjoy their labors.
Eva... congrats on the 2 month mark.

Ann

A tip for all the dad's to be or that have babies now. When the weather is warm, take the baby in their carrier and go to the mall. Find a bench and sit the baby in the carrier on the floor beside you. As the young girls come by, they bend over to look at the baby. I call this trolling.:rotfl2: Just remember, what ever you catch at the mall, you have to release and come home to mama.:rotfl2: Works better for grandfathers than dads.:rotfl: :lmao:

For our first time cruisers, when you arrive at the port, after passing through the metal detectors. You will be given a boarding number, have someone from your group or family check you in at the desk while the others find a seat. Be sure to do you online check in on the dcl website as it speeds things up a lot. Mike

Yikes! Back on page 2 again.

Mike, LOL! :lmao: Did you pick that up from an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond? It sound like something that he would think of. :rotfl:

I can't believe it is only a bit over 4 months before the cruise! I have been dreaming of a chocolate soufflé from Palo. It must be this diet and exercising I've been doing. Anyone else yearning for a favorite food on the ship?

Chicken fingers or a dog from Pluto's would be nice.

On our cruise last year, we took some 34 oz Bubba Mugs that did a great job for us. Fill that sucker up at the drink station on deck 9 and you are good to go. We got ours at walmart on sale. Here is the Bubba site http://www.bubbakeg.com/stuff.html Mike

That's a good tip for new cruisers Mike! We took insulated sports bottles last time. I love those sports bottle. They are from Hurricane Hanna's at Storm-A-Long Bay. They have been discontinued for years. But there's still a bartender there that will honor the sports bottle and fill it up for a regular price drink. He says he does it out of nostalgia. Gotta love WDW!

My wife and I love to eat breakfast at topsiders on board the magic. They have very soft scrambled eggs. Whenever we see similar eggs on buffets we call them boat eggs.:lmao: Mike

Ok... I'll fall for this one...
Chocolate chip cookies and celebration cake!
One more the angel hair pasta with pepper flakes! Yummmmm !:thumbsup2

Hi everyone! Hope you're all well and excited to be a mere 141 days away from meeting onboard the Magic! :woohoo:

Melody - so happy that all is going well for you and your DH.

Well done, Eva! :thumbsup2 Two months is awesome - Steve must be very proud of you...

And Mike, I'm surprised at you! Trolling, indeed! :lmao:

I'm a little p'd at the moment as I've had quite a run-in with my GP (local doctor) about my skin. As you may/may not know, I have severe psoriasis and have done so for almost 30 years. Anyway, a fellow-sufferer and friend of DH's has recently had success with immuno-suppressant drugs which got me quite excited. Also I'd read how CarriDee (ANTM winner) banished most of her psoriasis with Raptiva, another immuno-suppressant treatment.

So finally it seems like there might be some light at the end of the tunnel and I make an appointment to see my GP. His reaction was as if I'd suggested eating the flesh of fluffy little kittens - he looked horror-struck and virtually told me I was an irresponsible parent to ask for such a treatment! You'd think I'd made up the flippin' drugs and was going to act like some crazy half-wit junkie if I got access to them!!!! I understand the risks and I'm not an idiot for goodness sake! Eventually I persuaded him to refer me to a consultant but his attitude was totally off - I even had a little blub when I got back to my car. Oh well - just have to press on I suppose... :sad2:

Stick to your convictions Karen. Trolling is like window shopping at the Ferrari dealer. You know that you can't test drive it, or be able to afford it, but you can still window shop:lmao:

Melody I hope that you will have to cancel the cruise. Not because we don't want to meet you, but that a little bundle of joy is entering your life. Although, that idea of joy might change at 2 am feedings, and lack of rest:rotfl: Mike

Karen, That is awful! Before I got to the end of your post, I was imagining you telling that doctor where to go and walking out the door. At least he referred you to a specialist. Yikes! How long have you been going to that doctor? I've had the same doctor for over 20 years. I can't even fathom him saying something like that to me. As a matter of fact, I had a number of moles removed just about a week ago and Dr. Fisher and his assistant sang me show tunes while they were doing it. He is the one that helped me quit smoking. He'd like me to lose some weight, but he is never negative about it. He is the type of doctor that high fives you for quitting smoking and losing 5 pounds. He better never retire. It sounds like there are some real losers out there. Keep me posted to your next appointment.

Bareacuda, What is Celebration Cake?

Mike, We eat at the buffet for breakfast each morning too. From the breakfast menus, it seems that Topsiders actually has a better variety of breakfast food. Plus I usually don't eat a huge breakfast and like choosing what and how much I get of everything. Plus, I like to make a plate of fruit to graze on back in the room.

Thanks, guys! :thumbsup2 Eva, I want Dr. Fisher too - he sounds wonderful!!!

I'm normally an upbeat person but sometimes... Would you believe I actually chose to make the appointment with this GP as he's been sympathetic to various health issues in the past! It's a group practice and there's a choice of 4 doctors to see - I made the wrong choice that day for certain. We have such a nuts system here in the UK. Because it's "free" the implication is it's better - IMO it's more a case of you get what you're given. I mainly persuaded the doctor to refer me because I said I'd go private - DH gets BUPA private health insurance as part of his job. If I hadn't been able to do this, I'd be waiting for a year and a day to get referred... :confused3 Anyway, I'm boring myself now so I'll switch a far more interesting topic... Cruise Dining!!!! :woohoo:

I'm more than a little over-excited about all the dining options available on the Magic! I can't remember too much about them TBH - May 2005 seems a very long time ago now! I just know Palo's was spectacular and I've been reading the menus for the all the venues to whet my appetite a little - OK a lot! This afternoon I am especially looking forward to a champagne cocktail (or 2) at the Palo Brunch... :drinking:

I don't know what I am looking forward to most, the food or all the specialty drinks. It's horrible but I am already thinking about what I am going to order for each dinner. I keep looking over all the menus. I know they can change by then. But I can be a bit indecisive in ordering. So it is best to get an idea of what is offered ahead of time. DH says I am going to drive myself crazy. But I think of it more as anticipating an incentive or reward. I sure won't find any of the food they serve on the ship in my frig, so I don't think I have to worry much. :rotfl2:

Karen, Good Luck with the next doctor! How long do you have to wait for your appointment? Dr. Fisher is awesome. He's been wanting me to quit smoking for a long time, but he never nagged me about it. As a matter of fact, he wouldn't help me unless I had a very good reason why I wanted to quit. I told him because I want to see my DGD get married and he said that wasn't good enough. Then I said that I want to be around after I retire to travel and enjoy my old age. Again he said it wasn't good enough. Then I said that I would like to kiss my DH without feeling like I need to brush my teeth and pop a mint everytime. He said that was a perfect reason! Why?: Because it is a reason that pertains to the present, not the distant future. He's pretty smart!

I don't know what I am looking forward to most, the food or all the specialty drinks...
I'd already drooled all over the keyboard reading the descriptions of the different dishes when I spotted the most delicious-sounding Martini this afternoon - it sounded so good I had to send my DD an email with the details... The Chocolates and Expresso Martini: a chocolate coffee lovers dream with Godiva, Kahlua, Baileys and Vanilla Vodka... Mmmmmmmm! :cloud9:

...I keep looking over all the menus. I know they can change by then. But I can be a bit indecisive in ordering. So it is best to get an idea of what is offered ahead of time...
My DH is hopeless at making up his mind when ordering so maybe I should get him primed beforehand too?!! :lmao:

My DH is hopeless at making up his mind when ordering so maybe I should get him primed beforehand too?!! :lmao:

Karen, I think you should print off the menus for him. Then he will get as excited as you are. ;) DH hates it when I order because I always want to know what he is getting before I choose. I seems pointless to order the exact same thing. I usually like to order something different than DH so I can try some of his too. He hates it that I order based on what he is getting and often he won't tell me what he is going to order. So I have this trick. When the server comes to the table, all of a sudden I am not quite sure what to order. So I force DH to order first. Then I can choose something else. Occasionally I want something bad enough I'll still order the same. So I have to have at least 2 choices from each menu, just in case he orders my first choice. Boy, I guess that sounds pretty crazy! :rotfl:
