September 22, 2007 -- WESTERN

Love the photos, Mike - everyone looks like they're having a good time!:thumbsup2

Sandi, I found the best info about the tickets and add-ons here...

Still working on the pictures in between cooking, babysitting and taking Kathy back and forth to work. Here are a few. http://tnpapa.smugmug.com/gallery/2632953#139056533

Oh the washing machine is beeping at me,:laundy: time to put the clothes in the dryer. I have already fixed breakfast and done the dishes along with the pots and pans. I work cheap. Will work for cruises.:lmao:

Mike those are great pics. thanks for sharing. I remember Lookout Mtn and when lived in Chatt. use to visit Ruby Falls and Rock City. These places still there?

The last pic looks so much like Asia at Animal Kingdom.

Hope you get to share more. :thumbsup2

Those are Asian otters.

Sandi I was not and am still not a happy camper about Disney's ticket changes. If you want to park hop or non expiring ticket it costs you extra. We love to go to Epcot and take the monorail to the Magic Kingdom. Mike

Question about the dining rotation. I thought I read somewhere that your dining time determines the rotation, but I can't remember where I found it. I want to figure out when to book Palo so as not to miss the Animator's Palate 'show' which I understand is only done once during your rotation. Our dining time is 8:30.

On a separate note, just made our reservations for OKW for the week following the cruise. We are hoping to get into the AKV, but since we do not own points there, we have to wait until June 6th to book. Probably a long shot.

These cruise forums are sure dynamic. We were near the bottom of the 2nd page again.

Thanks,

Hi there, Bob! Now I think I can help you with this one - even tho' I've had my brain fried today trying to work out dining rotations for a 4 night cruise I'm doing with DD in May 2008!

As you know, we're also doing the 8.30 rotation and I've got it written down as follows: Lumiere's; Animators Palette; Parrot Cay; Lumiere's and so on - LAPLAPL for short! So you want to make sure you and Penny don't do Palo's on our 2nd night as that's when we're dining in Animators Palette for the first time. FYI the 3rd night (Parrot Cay) is the Formal night and the 6th night (Parrot Cay again) is semi-formal. HTH... :thumbsup2

Usually we always had the 8:30 rotation which was Laplapl you might try contacting your travel agent to request a certain rotation. Mike

Thanks all. Maybe we will do Palo on the 3rd nite since we have to get spruced up anyway... So many decisions, so much time left to get confused.

Remember that the restaurant that you eat in the first night is the same one you eat at on the last morning if you do the sit down breakfast before you disembark. I am a cheap so and so, I like the sit down breakfast the last morning so that I don't have to eat breakfast ashore and pay for it.:thumbsup2 :lmao:

Wow, I thought that I would jump on the boards to do a quick update and had to read through a couple of pages to get here. I'm back from my meetings in Chicago, but leave for St. Louis early tomorrow morning. So I am sure I will have lots to read up on when I get back on Sunday.

Great pictures Mike! I will have to show them to DH tonight. He is a Civil War buff and loves visiting the different battle sites. Visiting Gettysburg was definitely a major highlight for both of us.

We are in that great WDW ticket dilemma too. We have a couple of old hopper passes with one day left for the major parks and 5 days left for the minor parks. I'm sure that we will want to visit the major parks more than one day, but are having a tough time deciding what to buy. I hate the new ticket system.

Bob, good to hear from other DVC members. I guess I didn't remember that you and Penny were members. We are staying at BCV the week after the cruise. EPCOT is our favorite park and we love being right outside the door. Although, OKW is my favorite of the DVC resorts. It has a very special place in my heart. :lovestruc And boy don't you love the Grand Villas there?!? We had thought about changing to the new AKV in June too. But I doubt if it will be too easy and I think I like the idea of being close to EPCOT during the Food and Wine Festival.

Everyone keeps talking about their favorite parks and it is making me "Home" sick. I'm not sure if I have ever had to wait over a year between visits till now. To be honest, we rarely go to the MK anymore. We went this last trip only because we had two newbie’s with us. When we do go, we usually have 5 or 6 favorites that we hit and then hightail it out by 1:00 in the afternoon. Since we have no kids, it drives us a bit crazy to be there when the crowds start pouring in.

We usually spend a lot of time at EPCOT. We love Test Track, Soarin, the Living Seas, and Ellen's Energy Adventure. But neither of cared for Mission Space. We probably spend the majority of our time in WS though. I love all the performers they have there. I try to see Off Kilter, British Invasion, the statues and comedians in France. Oh, and I love the girls that do the drums in Japan. We like to do a couple of wine tastings in Germany, Italy, and/or France. I just know that I could spend a whole day in WS and still have things I wanted to comeback to see. I almost forgot the Holy Grail players in the UK. What a hoot!

I almost hate to say what we do at MGM. We go around 9:00 am and ride TOT and RNR over and over untill the lines are too long or we run out of Fast Passes. TOT scares the pants off of me. But DH needs someone to ride with. However, I love RNR. Then we eat turkey legs and drink beer. I usually need a drink after TOT. :drinking1 After that we might see a show and then head back to the room. We like the new stunt show. I was getting awful bored with Indiana Jones. The Little Mermaid show is nice if it is hot out. Again, we did most of the rides this last time because we brought people new to WDW. But even with hitting most rides, we were out of the park by mid-afternoon.

At AK, we like the new rollercoaster, Mt. Everest. We also will hit Dinosaur, It’s Tough to Be a Bug, and occasionally the Safari. We also love the Lion King show and the Birds of Prey show. To be honest, it would be tough to spend a whole day here. I think a lot depends on whether you want to see shows between rides.

Thanks for letting me reminisce on what we do at WDW. Oh, I so want to be there!

hey all. i just watched the Wonder leave for their time at sea. It's really cool to watch via webcam the ships leaving. Right now too one of the carnival ships has had a bomb threat. so they are sitting at port. passengers and crew evacuated from ship. feell sorry for all those ppl having to stand around outside when they should be having a party and heading on their trip.

anyway, watching the Wonder leaving I got jealous and wishing I was on there too <G> But hey we have 5 months 3 wks 3 days. ok seems so long away <G>

Same here, Eva! :sad1:
PS: Have a good trip - we'll miss you...

Hi, Marsha! It really does - I was hoping that once we'd hit the 6 month mark it'd speed up and we'd be at 3 months before we knew it! Sadly, that doesn't seem to be the case... :confused3

time will get here but i do wish would so faster than feels right now. But then by time gets here I will be running around saying OMG I'm not ready LOL

We did soaring for the first time last year. Loved it. I guess that Epcot is our favorite park. We usually go to Rose and Crown for the fish and chips with our friends. My friend from Pennsylvania loves the disney world popcorn.

Hi I'm new to this site and this is my first post here ever!
We are going to be on this cruise in Sept., our first Disney cruise.
This looked like the place to find out who's going to be on the ship?
Or am I to late ;)

It's never too late to join this group!

:welcome:
If you get a chance... read back to the begining you'll find who is who. Most of us are on the nutty side, but lovable:rotfl:
Ask all the questions you need... someone will answer them. Most of us have done several cruises on the Magic and the Wonder and know them like our own homes:lmao:

Once again... WELCOME !

Ann

KnotyScot...WELCOME. :cool1: It's never to late to join the group...well I guess if the ship left without you then...maybe it would be to late:goodvibes You'll be able to find tons of info here on the dis boards...and a chance to get to know some fellow cruisers that will be on the same cruise right here on this thread. Just join on in....ask questions or just chat it up....;)

Papa....I don't think were looking at Park hoppers OR the non expiring tickets. We're only going to be at the WDW area for 4 nights....And I know our family has only been to MK two days the last time we went to Orlando...so WDW is all new to us. We didn't figure going for the first time we'd bother hopping from park to park. Maybe once we become 'regulars' and know what each park has to offer then we'll step up and get the hoppers....but for now we'll stick with the base tickets. Do you know if we can get BASE tickets with the water and more add on package..or do we need 'higher class' tickets to add on???;)

I think there's something at each park that sounds great....but for now we're leaning more towards either MGM or Epcot. I'm going to take Marsha's advice and check out what's in operation during that time as well as what sort of parades and stuff each park has along with hours of operation then go from there.

Eva...if we go to MGM we'll probably do alot of what your game plan is for that park (ToT and RR over and over) We ended up doing alot of that at MK between Splash and Big Thunder Mt. last time:)
