September 22, 2007 -- WESTERN

Marsha, where did you get the sandals Pal Mickey is wearing? I'd love to get some for my DD's PM so he can have a more comprehensive wardrobe.

The ones in pic came from Walmart. I have so many shoes for Pal and Minnie they have more than I do :rotfl:

I buy the shoes from Walmart, Kmart or Target sizes infants/toddlers from 1-2. Some are infants to 6 months or like 6-9 months if they are 'flexible' type canvas/material. The sandals though are size 2.

Will your DD bring her PM on the cruise? Although he isn't made for the cruise ships, he will still tell jokes, play games and depending on version sing. She could bring him with a few outfits including shoes. I believe she would have a blast showing him off in his outfits. I know I have a great time in dressing him up esp for dinner, and he is a great ice breaker for conversing/interacting with other people.

If she does bring him let me know and I will get a few pics of the Pals together :goodvibes Of course I will have Minnie for this cruise :goodvibes

I found a website for doll clothing that they have shorts and cap sleeve shirts that fit Pal. If interested let me know, your DD could make some designs to iron on the tshirt.

Dressing Pal up for WDW or cruising is fun even more a middle aged woman so imagine it would be for your DD.

Eeeek:eek: I had to bump us up....we were all the way down towards the bottom of page two.

I'm having second thoughts on the dinning reservations I picked at WDW for before the cruise. We only have four days at WDW...and if were on the dinning plan we'll only have 4 TS credits...I'm second thinking the buffets I picked. I have Boma and Chef Mickey for breakfast....and I'm just not sure. It seems like we could get more out of the dinning plan if we didn't do many buffets. I've heard sooooo many good things about Boma...so I'm sure we'll want to do that one...BUT maybe not two buffets. Or then again "maybe" i'm putting WAY to much thought into it. :confused3

Another thing were trying to decide is what parks to go to. Right now we're only getting TWO day base tickets....And we know we want to go to MK one of those days. We've NEVER been to any of the other parks at WDW so it'll all be new to us. What would all of you experts recomend?

Regarding another park, go online and order customized maps for each park. you can check what you want to see or do, the map will show it. they mail you the maps. review what the other three parks have and see what is more interesting, i.e. do you enjoy animals,? then Animal Kingdom,

Studio's I have found hasn't been an all day park for me. But has one my most favorite attractions: "the great movie ride"

Epcot has few "ride" attractions and ones they have need fast passes or the lines can be like 90 mins or more for Soarin or Test Track. Do you enjoy seeing or finding out about other countries? Epcot around the world, plus of course Future world.

Another thing to do is check out what will be closed at the parks to be sure you aren't picking a park for something particular only to find out once arrive it's closed for refurbishment.

Personally if I had never been to the other parks I would get the customized maps, view online what each park offers, consider do I want thrill rides, slow/dark rides, shows, etc....

I know hard decision though even still as each park has something wonderfully magical to offer.

Im kinda cheatin' I have 5 months and 1 week and 4 days?:rotfl:

I think that only means I have more dirty clothes than all of you!:lmao:

Heck after 3 weeks.. I probably wont remember what I wore the day before!:rotfl2: What's another shirt or two?:thumbsup2

Sandi, I guess it depends on the ages of people there, but I can't imagine a trip to WDW without going to Epcot! I love Soarin', Test Track and strolling through the World Showcase is one of my most favourite things ever. I'm thinking that the Food & Wine festival will be on when you go - that might make it busier but it sounds a great event...

However, there are fun rides and great theming at Disney Studios - Rock n RollerCoaster, Tower of Terror, Great Movie Ride and also the fabulous Fantasmic firework display. There are also some excellent shows - Beauty and the Beast and Lights, Motors, Action are great...

Animal Kingdom is the park where we spend the least time (tho' now we've bought a few DVC AKV points hopefully that'll change) but Expedition Everest is an awesome ride! Best to get there early when its cooler if you want to see the animals...

Oh the Food and Wine Festival is great. You can go around the world eating getting like small appetizers portions of foods from around the world as well as drinks/beer/wines.

Last year I was amazed at how crowded it was each time I went. So if going go early when that part of the park opens 11a. start eating and drinking around the world then rather than wait until afternoon or evening. at least if the crowds are going to be like last year. afternoon/evening you could stand in line at just one country for the appetizer up to 30 mins or longer at some.

Morning we didn't seem to have that much of a problem overall.

Good morning all. Trying to unpack and get our pictures processed on the computer from our trip to Chattanooga and Atlanta this past weekend. Between my daughters photos and ours, I have about 400 to 500 photos to edit on the computer. Epcot is our favorite park along with Magic Kingdom. Animal park is one of our least favorite along with MGM. Mike

Welcome home Mike. So how was the trip? Will you be able to share with pics with us? I would love to see any you want to share being a Tennessean myself. I do miss TN at times although I enjoy living in Orlando. Would be great to see some pics though esp since I know things have changed a lot since moved out of TN.

glad you are back.

Welcome back, Mike! Looking forward to seeing some photos from your trip...

I wandered across this website earlier and I thought the fabrics looked so lovely I'm now wondering whether to get DH and I matching tropical outfits for the Pirates IN the Caribbean Party! Decisions, decisions!!!! :surfweb:

Thanks for your input... on the parks.

We'll have 16 people in our group...with 3 kids (8-9yr), 5 teens (14-15) and 8 adults (30's-60). One of the families (2 adults, 1 child and 1 teen( is leaning heavy towards AK...but our family and the others are leaning more towards MGM or Epcot. My parents (2 adults, 1 child) are planning on getting more base tickets and doing ALL the parks...they'll just go to the ones we aren't going to on the days were not doing parks and stick with the parks that we are going to when we go. Anywho...that leaves 1 child, 4 teens and 4 adults to decide which park is a must to see. I've got ADR at Le Cellier and 50's prime time...but myself I'm leaning more towards Le Cellier for dinner intead of 50's PT....but I think Tower of tower and Rocken roller coster sound more exciting than Mission space, soarn or Test track. So it's a total toss up. I know with how huge Epcot is...we'll be able to spend the whole day there...but I'm not so sure about MGM...there just doen't seem like a whole lot to do/see there. But then again...it does look like there are more itmes for the teens and kids at MGM than Epcot. I think I've just got this vision....that Epcot is more edudational and I'm sure the teens and kids are not wanting to be educated all day at Disney.... Someone tell me I'm wrong.

I'm thinking I read somewhere that the Food and Wine thing started later than that...so I'm thinking we wouldn't be there during that time.

Anyone know how the water parks and more add on works with the base tickets? We were wanting to do a water park when we got off the ship on Sat...and just planned on purchasing a third day base ticket to use for that...but found out yesterday that it dosen't work that way. You have to add on the water and more add on thing. Which in all sounds like a much better plan anyways because we'll get THREE things instead of just one. But our plan with the third ticket was that with the 14 day experation period we could still use that last ticket when we got off the ship...BUT with the add on stuff dose it work the same way? In other words...if we purchased the two day base tickets with the water parks and more add on....do we still have 14 days from the first use to use EVERYTHING? I may have to call Disney myself and just ask them... I'd hate to save that until we got off the ship to only find out those don't work the same. :confused3

I guess I should add that I have gone on line and compaired each park and what they have to offer :) I've even done the map thing (just got them the other day). We do all enjoy animals...but we also love the thrill rides (yes two of the three kids even LOVE them) Although the shows are great...I don't think that's what most of the group wants to do. Same goes for seeing around the world in Epcot. I'd LOVE to visit the diffrent countries (I'm sure there are tons of photo ops there)....but I don't think most of the group feels the same way (at least the teens and kids)...they are all about the rides...no matter what the ride is.

I never even considerd the ride/attraction closures. That is defiently something we'll need to look into. I did see the Huanted Mantion will be closed for a LONG time...and just reopen a few weeks before we arrive :)....but I havent' looked into other parks. I guess if Rocken roller coster and ToT were closed....that would make deciding alot easer...Same goes for the stuff at Epcot. Thanks for the advice.

Thrill rides are the best <G> I love roller coasters the bigger the better. Everest at AK is fantastic!!!!!! Plus they have the water ride, Kali Rapids, yes I know not a thrill ride but kids usually love getting wet <G>

Dinosaur at AK is a great ride too imo.

I would agree if have several kids and teens they may not enjoy Epcot around the world yet would enjoy Future World. But then you are back in the dilema of can you spend all day just in Future World? Well maybe could if test track, mission to space, and soarin lines are 90 min or more each LOL.

RnR and ToT are great too at MGM.

It has to be a difficult decision knowing you have only a certain amount of time to decide then which park. But I am sure you guys will figure something out by Sept. <G>

Glad you already got the maps, aren't they cool?

Yeah keep eye on what is closing and when, as that may make a huge difference in your planning.

keep us posted on decisions where you guys decide to go. and do.

The ticket with the WPF&M add-on still expires after 14 days exactly the same as the base ticket. So it's definitely a good bet for what you want to do... :thumbsup2

IMO you're going to get the most fun out of a half day at MGM studios and using another part of your add-on ticket - maybe going to Disney Quest and exploring DTD or a water park visit. You could even pop back to MGM in the evening and catch Fantasmic as I think you can return to the same park without buying the Park hopper option. Good luck with the planning... :)

Still working on the pictures in between cooking, babysitting and taking Kathy back and forth to work. Here are a few. http://tnpapa.smugmug.com/gallery/2632953#139056533

Oh the washing machine is beeping at me,:laundy: time to put the clothes in the dryer. I have already fixed breakfast and done the dishes along with the pots and pans. I work cheap. Will work for cruises.:lmao:

So you can use a base ticket for a park...PLUS use one of the "add-on" tickets for someplace like Disney Quest in the same day? :goodvibes I realized not to long ago...that you couldn't use two base ticktes in one day:confused: SO I didn't even consider the base and add-on in a day. ;)
