September 22, 2007 -- WESTERN

OH I definitely want to book for 2011 no matter what it is. I am hoping though they use one of the four ships for Alaska. But I want to sail on the new one's as soon as I can.

Speaking of packing: I went thru stuff from last cruise and put what I want to carry on into my DCL excursion duffle bag. Picked out what clothes to take for Pal Mickey and Minnie and but those into a suitcase. Already put my sleepwear, socks, undies etc.... into space bags. Put a few other items I will be taking into the suitcase as well. We are more than 6 months out and I have Pal Mick and Minnie packed, a lot of my stuff except daily/dinner wear, of course those items you can't pack until last minute.

I know from now until I head to port on that saturday I will be putting items into suitcase. I will practice packing several times before we cruise. Will pack and unpack,, trying several cases. Probably unpack and review what I am packing for Mick and Minnie, etc....

I am so much like a kid that just can't wait. remember that commercial with little boy going into his sister's room, parents come to door to tell them to get to sleep, the little boy says something like "i;m too excited to sleep".

Well I am that kid just in a middle aged body LOL. For the next 6 months I will be planning, thinking, preparing, dreaming, and ppl around me will be sick and tired of hearing me talking about going on the cruise LOL.

I think i have some advantage to many here as I only have to pack for me, well and Pal Mick and Minnie. But not packing a family, husband, kids etc...

My formal wear is a pair of black pants and a top (one that is long to floor), and then for semiformal night i wear same black pants with red blouse. Material is like i guess rayon mixed so easy to pack. Lay it over the back and front of suitcase, pushing the middle down into suitcase, then I put all other pants/capris on top of that same way. roll tops/tshirts and put into suitcase. then fold top and bottom part of pants/capris and formal top/pants over rolled tops. at least this worked last time.

Camera is small digital that fits into my little camera bag that I can wear around shoulder/neck, or even tie it on to my chair. No laptop for me. I also have little extra space to carry items as I have arm bag on chair that holds little items like autograph book/pen, note pad, reading glasses, small flashlight, etc.... Then I can also carry a mesh backpack on back of chair which i can carry rain ponchos, umbrella, thin beach towel, etc....

So although needing a power chair has its disadvantages and limits me, comes in handy in carrying things, providing more places to carry items without need of suitcase. <G>

ok enough rambling at least for this post LOL

Ive been wrapped up so much in this vacation that a friend asked me today if I had my dress ready for the art opening next Friday!:scared1:

OMG!!! I Forgot! And Dh is in charge of the opening:rotfl:

but look at this way you still have a week to prepare <G>

good luck though!!!

Ok it's after 2am and I am wide awake. Since I couldn't sleep I worked on my photo album/s from Jan cruise. I need a few more sheet protectors for the Navigators and other odd items.

ended up taking about all the pics I had already placed out, so I could do better at arranging pics in album in order i.e. arriving at Port, check in, first lunch, room, safety drill, dinner, key west, etc..... :cool1:

I had to use another smaller photo album I had but is a Figment album. Oh well so it has cruise pics in it instead of anything Figment. (I am also a figment fan so ppl often are giving me items of figment or related). :goodvibes

I bet I don't print out as many pics from the Sept cruise though. This was tough and time consuming work. Not to mention pricey. I will definitely do my online photo album for Sept cruise and most likely get a small DCL photo album onboard so i can print out a few pics to share with ppl when computer isn't available.

Of course Sept though I will be taking lots of pics of Pal Mickey and Minnie in their outfits so means I won't be taking less pics, most likely more.:)

I am so ready for this cruise that I can barely stand this waiting. And what is worse is having to get thru the summer heat here in Florida which i absolutely hate. Heat and I don't do well, but admit it's better than living where it gets freezing cold, ice/snow storms etc.. My body is heat intolerant but also now is cold intolerant. at least in Florida we have a few months of horrible heat/humidty, a week or two of what can be considered cold. the rest of the year can be almost perfect :cool1: :thumbsup2

Does anyone dress up for pirate: night? How far to you go i.e. full costume? profressional costume? through something together?

I through something together which ends up being a pirate of the caribbean t-shirt, red capri's that i cut ends to strips, sword that I got from McDonald's happy meal <G>, bandana for head, and a sash around waist. Last time i did have a pirate hat (foamie from Michaels) but I didn't like wearing it, so will go without that this time. Also last time wore a clip on earring that lasted maybe an hour, couldn't stand that either. Shoes I just go with my black disney crocs. So I dress up its not just professional, or that good of one. But at least it is an attempt to look piratey :goodvibes

On another subject, Disney Crocs. wondering if others have bought any and found they aren't as comfortable at regular beach crocs? I have regular beach crocs and two pair of disney crocs which are suppose to be beach crocs. The disney crocs are made in china not colorado. I definitely found a difference, they don't feel as comfortable or "soft". more hard like plastic. Since I do little walking the disney crocs work fine for me, but curious is others are finding they aren't as comfortable to walk in as regular beach crocs. Oh and i found the sizing of disney crocs little different then regular crocs. I have the same size in disney and regular but they are different actually in size (length and width). Of course I love my disney crocs and disney jibbitz :thumbsup2

ok rambling again but that's what you have to put up esp when it's 2:30a and I am wired :rotfl2:

the countdown continues and remember although it feels so far away... each day we get thru is one day closer :cheer2: ::MinnieMo pluto: :tinker: :ccat: :donald: :mickeybar :sulley: :tigger: :tink: :smickey: :mickeyjum :earsboy:

Anyone that is on this cruise considering going in Sept 08? Double dip to CC, then includes Costa Maya and Cozumel?

I am considering since I like the idea of going each Sept to celebrate birthday.

Will check out booking while on board during our cruise, and guess continue dreaming that it will be possible for 08.

Marsha, we've already booked to go on the Mexican Riviera cruise in August 2008 as it ties in with DS's school summer break - and we get to see the other Mexican coast. I am Double Dipping in May 2008 (couldn't pass that one up) with DD - it's so cool now one of my kids is old enough to be a ready made travelling companion who pays her own way! :woohoo:

I guess the discount and the OBC are very good reasons to book onboard... :thumbsup2

OMG!!! I Forgot! And Dh is in charge of the opening:rotfl:
Good luck with that! :thumbsup2 DH and I are attending a champagne supper with DS's Headmaster on Thursday evening - I'd forgotten all about it until the Headmaster's secretary rang me to ask for our "biographies" - brief histories of ourselves! That really threw me - I had to ask her to call me back so I could invent an exciting life for myself! :rolleyes1

I picked up a couple of items in a department store in Paris last week - a v cool sleeveless skull & crossbones t-shirt and a slouchy belt with huge crystal encrusted skull & crossbones buckle! I'm thinking punk rock pirate!!? I shall wear them with cut off black jeans and some fabulous skull jewellery I've seen online... pirate: Not sure about DH tho - I'm confident he'll join in but it's a case of finding the right outfit...:thumbsup2

That's interesting, Marsha - I don't own any Crocs but have wanted to get a pair of Disney ones ever since I heard about them. The sizing has confused me so I've put off buying online and was intending to get some in Florida this autumn. However maybe I should get some of the original Beach Crocs to try first so I know how they're supposed to feel...?:confused3

I was wondering about how many people would be dressing up on Pirate's Night too. I think that DH and I will dress a bit. At least I say that now. But I have a tendency to go over board on most everything I do. I've been looking at some pirate costumes online and they seem very reasonable in price. We'll probably wait a few more weeks before making a decision.

Karen, the punk or rock pirate idea is a good one. Not sure if I could get DH to go for that. He is a bit conservative, but does loosen up quite a bit on vacation.

I've never worn Crocs before either. I've always wondered if your feet tend to sweat in them. I have seen some that have open toes and I have been tempted. I know that I have a difficult time with any tpe of water shoe. They make my feet sweat 5 minutes out of the water. Since we are thinking now of doing the wave runner excursion on CC, maybe Crocs would be a good idea. I'll have to look into them.

Hey Marsha - catching up on this thread.......and I see no mention of an iron. Thank goodness - I think I cured you of that!.

I printed over 400 of my photos in 4X6, and added those you sent to me. The I did 15 in the 8X6 for that size album. So here's my question for everyone - how many cruise photos did you print from previous cruises.

I found a few suitable Lady Pirate outfits on the web before my first cruise in 2005 but I totally chickened out, so I'm looking forward to seeing you all dressed up! :thumbsup2 I'm probably fooling myself with my potential outfit - I mean, how many 44 year olds can carry off Pirate rock chick?! Ah well, be afraid, everyone, very afraid! :scared1:

As for DH, he definitely won't go that far. He's pretty much a suit and tie man - I actually think holiday clothes make him nervous :rotfl: but he'll wear something suitable. Maybe not the Jack Sparrow outfit I have hidden in the back of my wardrobe (well, a girl can dream...) but the scurvy landlubber will wear something piratical I'll be bound! Aaaaarrrr... pirate:

I'd love to dress up in full pirate gear. But remember I'm planning on packing light;) this time around so I'm guessing we'll stick to something along the lines like we did last time. A priate like shirt, bandana, sash, either black shorts or skirt and maybe an eye patch. I went with shorts last time...figuring they worked with the outfit....PLUS I could wear them another time as well. I'm not sure I'd wear my priate skirt anyother time on the ship...so I may be more of a space taker in my suitcase than anything else.

way cool you are going on the mexican riviera cruise. I am jealous :goodvibes

you should have a great time. just be sure to come back and do a trip report as I for one want to hear all about it. :goodvibes

Punk rock pirate, NOW that's the way to go. Can't way to see you on pirate night.

if haven't owned the original regular crocs then you may never know the difference in how they feel versus the disney croces. the sizing, crocs are suppose to be not fitting. your toes are not to touch the front or top, they should not touch the side of your foot either. basically the only part of foot to touch shoe is the sole of your foot and the heel strap. if you haven't already done so read on crocs website about sizing and fitting. they are to be very loose but yet when walking in them they don't feel floppy or like too big. at least for me.

you can order the regular or disney crocs on the crocs.com website. beach/disney crocs come in small, meduim, large, etc... not actual shoe size. I wear a size 9 wide in shoe so i get large (women size 10-11). The medium's I can also wear but have to stretch the heel strap out a little. once you stretch the strap is have memory so doesn't shorten back to what it was before stretching. and very easy to stretch if need to.

good luck.

No iron paranoia this time. first cruise cured me of that :rotfl:

I printed out around 400 pics as well. I doubt will print that many for Sept. More will go with my favorite ones and not similiar pics. I am sure to buy another photo album on ship though as I have used up the one I bought in Jan. But will probably this time get the smaller one, like the one you got.

still tempting you DisGal in crusing in sept :cool1: :thumbsup2

I bet everyone on this thread would agree with me you need to go in Sept too. You need another cruise this year and esp 9 months after our Jan one :dance3:

go for it eva. get one of those complete professional outfits. I did see several ppl in Jan with complete outfits. Saw several men as Jack Sparrow. And women in full costume.

hope you go for it, and I will need a pic ok?:goodvibes

go for the full gear :goodvibes you can just push the skirt into a side of suitcase and still pack light. ummm i want to hear more of you packing light :goodvibes esp based on prior posts and packing. jk :thumbsup2

Hey brady - I did a 'quote' from one of your posts, and added my comments. But now I see a few posts above this one that it just came out as if you had done the post I did. Guess I need to practice my quoting skills again.

Anyway here's the question for all of you. From your previous Disney cruise how many pictures did you print for your cruise album?

DisGal

We print very few of our cruise photos. We take too many to print:lmao: I could cruise again for that much money.

We dress up a little for pirate night. Too conservative, I guess.

Karen I have never been a suit and tie kind of guy. My line of work was more blue collar, levis and tee shirt. Worked outdoors, on the railroad tracks for 28 years before going off on occupational disability in 2000. Mike

Previous cruise was a 3 night-er with DD - I tend to have the photos scrolling on the computer but she printed out around 150 and made me a gorgeous album of our memories for Christmas 2005. It was a beautiful surprise gift and I still get a kick out of looking at it... :cloud9:

Will probably have many more photos this cruise as DH and I are adding on a photo package to our Vow Renewal - now that's scary... :rotfl:

Hope you don't mind me jumping in! This will be our first Disney cruise and we are excited! It is myself, DH - Mike and our son Dylan who will be 2 both celebrating birthdays onboard. We are also bringing my parents, Jerry & Pat to celebrate their 40th Anniversary! Now that is is almost 6 months away we are getting anxious and want to really start planning! We look forward to seeing you along the way!

Hi Jamie and welcome! Wow! More birthdays and anniversaries - this really is a celebration cruise! This will be my DH's first cruise too and I've only been on one 3 day Bahamian cruise before so I'm a relative newbie too. :thumbsup2 This is a really great site with plenty of info so I'm sure you'll find answers to any planning questions you might have. :surfweb:

I'm getting more excited with every week that passes by - the ticker just can't move quickly enough! :cheer2:

Look forward to getting to know you better.
Best wishes...
