Getting organized for packing. :laundy:

I found a brand new pair of pants in my closet today that are 2 sizes too big. They must have been on the super discount rack. I have an issue passing up a pair of Dockers for $5 even if they do not fit perfectly.

These are now my buffet pants!!! They will work with me.

I suppose the Spandex all the other men are wearing will do the same thing. But I have pockets. :yay:

That quote reminds me of Luther on "Coach". He was always stuffing food in his pockets. Coach used to tell him the buffet is all you can eat in the restaurant. :rotfl:

Can't wait to meet you all in the terminal. Should be easy to identify you guys by your cool Postcard Cruise shirts.

Fair Warning: I am horrible with names. Please do not take offense.

We also are staying at the Residence Inn but won't be arriving at MCO until 5:30ish so we won't make it to the hotel by 6:00:(

Well, we'll be at the hotel all night :rotfl: so we might still be in public view when you arrive. :car: We'll keep an eye out for you!

Marsha - ::yes:: sounds like a date.

Chris - I am the worst with names and don't have a postcard shirt either. (Maybe I will put a postcard in my pocket and try to remember that my son's name is Chris.):lmao:

7 more days . . . at work.

Good luck with everyone's pre-cruise meets. We are staying at the Wakulla suites again this year. Make sure you print out the needed documents to take to the terminal with you. Mike

Hey gang.

I got the 9/1 Eastern Navigators.

PM me with your external e-mail and I will send you a copy.

They are in PDF format.

If you do receive them from me then you are not allowed to make fun of my shirt!!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Marsha - I am so sorry for what your company is doing to you.
This cruise seems to come at a good time. You'll get to relax and get away from it all.

My DH and I have the early seating for dinner. I was kind of wondering if any of you other DVC/DIS members would be seated at our table, but maybe not if you are all sitting together.

But maybe I'll see you at the DVC meeting onboard.

I'm getting so excited about going on vacation! Next week will be extra busy at work so that will keep my mind off things :)

Hello everyone, we are new to DIS, and this will be our first cruise. We are excited, yet anxious as we are not sure of which excurisions to do at each port. I will be traveling with DW, DD 6 and DD 2.5. (I assume this means Disney wife and Disney Daughter).

I have enjoyed reading the thread it is very helpful.

Question, you mention a DVC meeting onboard, how is that organized, as we are DVC members (SSH)and I was not aware of a meeting.

Any Chicago bears fans? They play sunday night while we are on the cruise.

WELCOME aboard :goodvibes I'm sure there's bound to be some Bears fans ;) someplace on the ship. And I'm sure there's a great place to view the game someplace if it's playing on the ship. I'm not sure how they pick what to show...but I've heard (through the DiS) that they get satilite viewing so they have to decide what to play each day.... Again...not sure how the whole thing works or if that's really the case. Maybe someone else who's more into watching games would know better.

The DVC meet...I believe is hosted by DCL...and you can either ask at Guest Services or you may even recieve an invite in your stateroom that gives you the details of when and where. I know with the Castaway Club gathering they have we've recieved an invite in our stateroom with all the details...

I realize I may not have actually helped at all with your questions...I mainly wanted to say WELCOME....hope to see you onboard.

OH..which reminds me..I'm guessing that if you read through the posts you saw we are having some DIS meets...where we'll all get together and say hi:yay: ...anyways the first one is the first day (Saturday) around 3pm by the Mickey Pool. :flower3:

Marsha, I am so sorry about your job. I don't know if I can help but I work for one of the world's largest staffing companies. We have a number of branches in Florida. As matter of fact, I know the manager of our Orlando branch fairly well. If you have a resume that you would like for me to share with them, I surely would make sure it got to the right person(s). Feel free to pm or email me at anytime.

QUOTE]

Thanks Eva just may take you up on things after the cruise.

I met with supervisor on Friday. My company has given me a separation letter dangling carrots like a 30 day bonus after my last day, cover health benefit for 6 months as long as i sign this agreement i waive any right to bring or file a claim against the company.

they gave me 21 days to decide and consult an attorney regarding these terms. here is the catch, within these 21 days: this week I am being sent to do my job 7-8 drive from my home. of course we all know i am leaving on the 22-29 for the cruise. which gives me 5 days week of Sept 17 to consult an attorney, make a decision to accept their offer, return letter with my signature, or don't sign and no accept the bonus and health coverage.

I can't afford COPRA and i need health coverage due to having a progressive degenerative neuro disease.

I am beyond anger, upset at what they are doing as I have never been written up, haven't been told what functions of my job i am not doing or can no longer due. reason for termination: "due to your medical condition you can no longer fulfill the essential functions of the PC of Florida." Of course they haven't or won't tell me which functions I am not meeting. And they know I really don't have time to consult an attorney, they know I can't go without health coverage. oh I can apply for short term disability which they say will go into affect after my 30 day bonus. ok, someone tell me how my company can say i will qualify for STD? How they know it will be approved?????????

From beginning of August to now just seems my life is spiraling out of control and being hit from all ends. I can't believe my company would do such a thing to anyone.

I have mtg schedule to meet with my voc rehab counselor who helped me get the conversion van and ramp at my home so I could continue working. maybe he can help me in someway.

OK enough down news and my anger.

The cruise is just around the corner. I can't wait to get on that ship, meet you guys, see Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and the other characters. Eat the delicious food, relax in the sun, play in the water at CC :dance3:

All this bad news stuff isn't going to ruin my time, the fun on this cruise.

SO LET"S GET CRUISIN'

:dance3: :yay: :cool1: pirate: :cheer2:

Marsha I can't even start to imagin what your going through... And I really don't feel like I should be giving any advice what so ever because of not knowing...BUT if you ask me you should have an attorney look things over. Even if you consulted with one...did what you could then leave thing with the attorney while on the cruise...hopefull when you got back (well rested)...he/she'd have some ideas for you to go with. :grouphug:

Is anyone still waiting for their docs? I have been trying to fill out the Bahamas Immigration Docs. Some of it is confusing to me. (Remember, I am easily confused! :confused3 ) So we are just going to fill out what we can and sign them. If they want more, they'll just have to tell us what to fill in. I asked on the main board about filing them in and everyone is saying that they are only asking people to fill out the top portion.

Eva...I worked on mine just after i recieved the docs...and YES...I was easly confused as well.:goodvibes I did what I could..but there were a couple questions they asked that I just didn't know.... I too just figured they could help me at the check in...;)

Okay....as you can see by my large number of posts today...i've been MIA from the boards for a few days (Busy packing;) )...anywho...I jumped on today and silly me started reading the post backwards (meaning the most recent post first) lol. Anywho..I got caught up.

I know it was mentioned a few posts back (or a couple pages...I can't remember)...about the list of Dis meets. Marsha (Brady) has a link to the page with the meets listed in her signature area. The couple I can remember off hand is the first one by the Mickey pool on Saturday @ 3pm and the Margrita tasting...that's just when ever it's listed in the navagator. From the sounds of it...it may be Monday at 4pm. Which should indeed make for an intresting formal night:thumbsup2

I also need to say up front I'm also BAD BAD BAD with names...SO if you hear me calling out "you hoo"....you'll know I could be talking to you...:lmao: Just kidding...More than likely I'll just keep my mouth shut. :rolleyes1

We won't be wearing lime green nor the postcard shrirts...but instead we'll be the group with the red Mickey polos....on a side note...to help eveyone with remembering names....we had our names printed on the polo's;) Just keep in mind that if you call one of us by name we may look at you very confused as we're trying to figure out how in the world you knew who we were....:rotfl2: I can actually see myself doing that as I'm giving it some thougth.

If we see any of you outside the terminal...before we catch a porter...we'll be the ones hiding behind a HUGE pile of luggage. :goodvibes I know I said it earler...that we were going to pack ligher...and believe me I have tryed. BUT I don't seem to be getting very far. I've been working on and off this past weekend on gathering things up and getting them packed...I keep telling myself "I'm getting there"...but honestly I'm not sure...The pile of luggage is growing. :confused3 Anyone else feel that way? We've managed to fit all of our clothes (4 people) into one large suitcase plus a garmet bag. BUT then we have a smaller suitcase for our clothes for WDW before the cruise...so that's 3 pieces...PLUS a bag for snorkel gear (were up to 4 now)...one for my dd's medicne (5), the shampoo and stuff bag (6). SO...so far that's 6 checked bags. PLUS our carry-ons...which if I'm adding right end up being about 5 or 6 as well. :confused3 :scared1:  :rolleyes1

Welcome Da Ebels! My DH is a Bears fan! We actually just got a DVC meeting invite via email today. You will also probably get a phone message, a delivered flyer and it will be listed in your navigator. It's hard to miss

DD, DS, DW mean Dear Daughter, Dear Son, Dear Wife - but I think I like your explanation better!!

Welcome!

Da Ebels, you should get an invitation to the DVC meet. If not, ask at Guest Services. We always go. They usually have nice giveaways. We got some hats, pins, and luggage tags on the last one.

You can bet that Diversions will be playing the Bears game Sunday night. First it is the only night game. The other reason is because they are playing the COWBOYS!!!! We have late seating for dinner, but are still hoping to catch the second half. We live only a couple hours away from Chicago and we are used to fanatical Bears fans. ;) This ought to be real fun! I hope it is a close game! :cheer2:

So far it appears that our cruise is not completely full. I did a mock reservation for 2 adults and they still have all catagories (4-12) available, except cat. 7. The prices are still showing about $300 more than when we booked.

10 Days!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:welcome: aboard!

We're looking forward to the DVC gathering - it'll be our first time as DVC owners and I can't wait to bag some booty and loot - well, pins and luggage tags anyway... ;)

Catching the game in Diversions sounds like a good idea! :thumbsup2 We usually watch NFL when in the US - DH is a big sports (any sports) fan and has even more of an interest now that the chairman of his soccer team is an American who also owns an NFL team... :goodvibes

So tomorrow we all do the Single Digit Dance!!! So excited, so much to do, so little time left... :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
