Hi all! Planning our next trip to The World and it's looking like we'll be going sometime in Sept and was wondering when is the best time to go? My son is still preschool and my friends we're bringing are taking their kids out of school so any time of the month is available. Could probably do Oct if convinced it's the way to go but would love shorter wait times. Appreciate any advice!! :yay:

If you want to go for the Halloween Party and F&W Festival, go towards the end of the month to be safe. This year the Halloween parties started on the 15th (today), 2 weeks later than last year and food and wine starts the Sept. 25th. If you don't care about those 2 things I would say the first or second week (after Labor day)

Well for shorter wait times you have the right month picked in September. I just got back two weeks ago and we had very short wait times, especially at night (walked right on Space Mountain, Splash Mountain and Thunder Mountain without stopping to give you an idea). Most kids go back to school at the end of August, and Florida kids go back in the middle of August, so that helps with the times and crowds. You still will have wait times, but not nearly as long as if you were to go in July or early Summer. Just be aware that as of September 1st the park times change and aren't open as late because there aren't as many people.

We go in September every year and love the low crowds, Halloween party, and Food & Wine. I'd plan around those 2 events, so the 3rd-4th week of September. If I didn't care about them, I'd go the 1st or 2nd week.

FYI - Spetmeber is HOT and HUMID and RAINY. You may want to take that into account and plan more rest time. We don't find the park hours to be very limited - definitely not enough to skip breaks!

We are going the 12-22nd. We have three birthdays in that period, reason for those dates. We still want it hot enough kids can swing in the evenings back at the resort too. Praying no big storms but some rain will not be a hassle.

Oct was VERY VERY busy this year. Perhaps due to some Fall Breaks, Columbus day etc. Sept was sometimes busy. I took a photo the Thursday after Labor Day and next to no one was in the Hub next to City Hall at 5pm. But of course, parties don't start until mid Sept and F&W started the 25th. To be honest, every. single. day. of F&W was very busy. Didn't matter what day of the week or when it was. It was busy on non weekends (especially because if its a party night, hoppers go there for fireworks if they don't have party tix) and it was super busy on the weekends or non party nights when it packed out with locals whose Silver passes were now in full force (most locals don't make the trip up on party nights unless they have tix, otherwise they only come on non party days.) Oct was crazy this year...I think... (at least, absolutely as busy as July, to me.)

I was going to say that the rain wasn't nearly as bad in Sept as Aug, until I remembered the very opening night of F&W, we got completely drenched. Oh well, Sept is still better than Aug, and Oct got weirdly chilly (expectedly, I guess) while Nov got back to 89 and 92 and then has gotten back to lovely 81/82 highs. This week has been stellar. Nov was REALLY REALLY HOT for that time of year! (Happy day) and then for Nov 30, TL was closed for cool temps.

Week before T=-giving last year was like 40 degrees! This year, it was 86?! Honestly, there is no way to tell a year prior! But I think its safe to bet on Sept feels like summer here (much to the shock of all our northern guests who had fall in mind up north!)

We live in the mountains in central america, 60-80 all year long. Except a few weeks in Dec/Jan when we get 50s. Sept is the rainyest (is that a word?) month annually for us so I would rather do rain at Disneyl.
