September 2016 Trip Thread!!!!

We will be there for the Disneyland Half Marathon Labor Day Weekend September 2-4. I am bummed that Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln will be down for refurbishment, as well as Haunted Mansion down for the overlay, but it will still be fun!

We'll be there from Sept 5-9th, right when all the big closures are happening. Sucks because I even planned this trip because I wanted to ride Hyperspace Mountain!! We will only have one day for that (Sept 5th).

Sept 5th also is the last day for Paint The Night and Disneyland Forever. Right now I have the PTN package at Blue Bayou. Do they generally give you reserved spots for the first parade or the 2nd parade? Our dinner is at 6pm.
I am reading conflicting reports on where the Blue Bayou reserved area is. Someone said it was on Main Street then I heard they moved it to the railroad station area. I really hope we can watch both PTN and Disneyland Forever at good vantage points, considering it'll be our only night to watch them.

Sept 6th-8th should have pretty light crowds, and with HM, SM, and perhaps Ariel closed...it seems as if we'll have plenty of time to explore everything else.

Hopefully we will be able to ride HM and GG on Sept 9th which is our last day. That would actually redeem the trip a bit for me.
We'll be staying at the Grand Californian.

Oh, BTW, has anyone been trying to book the Frozen Pre-show package for any dates after Sept 5th? Even though I can make ADRS for every other restaurant or event, the Frozen Pre-show isn't showing up for dates after the 5th.

Yes I've been trying to book this too but it's not available after the 5th. I was told that this is probably because the entertainment schedule hasn't been released for after the 5th yet.

Hyperspace mountain and Haunted Mansion both are off the refurb schedule for Friday Sep 9! We're going to be there at the same time though only spending 3 days at Disney / CA as were hitting US and Knotts for a day each. Excellent news though! Hyperspace and GG in the same trip will be excellent!

The Canada calendar shows that for Sept. 9-11 there will be 2 Mickey Soundsational parades (4:30 and 7) and Fantasy in the Sky fireworks (9:30). Guess that means PTN is toast.

6 weeks to go!
Getting excited now, even my wife is finally starting to talk about it. Now seeing the very first day on the Disney sites schedule and no big surprises except Lincoln being down. Hopefully it will be back. We missed it last time too.
Not earth shattering but still one of Walt's originals so we like to take it in.

I'm bummed about this. They're changing the fireworks show for the end of the 60th, which is fine, but I was hoping that PTN would get a quick refub and be back for the Halloween season.

I too am sad to be missing PTN. We went in Feb 2015 before the 60th stuff started and now we are just going to miss it. I thought with how popular the parade is that it would at least run on weekends during the off season.

The Disney website has Frozen listed under the 60th Anniversary section, which states events will be ending September 5, 2016. I have been hoping that they will extend it, but there are no showtimes listed after September 5 , nor is there anything listed for the frozen pre-show.

Frozen will be taking a break after 5 Sep per the daily schedule. No word yet on if/when it will return. https://disneyland.disney.go.com/ca/calendar/daily/?day=20160906

I kind of figured that would be the case. I added an extra day to our September trip because of the limited park hours in September and because the 60th celebration is ending. I really want to take my daughter to see frozen. I guess I am going to have to try to squeeze that pre package show in on the 5th. I was going to try to go for the fastpass but from what I have read on this site the fastpass does not guarantee entry.

Ugh more changes that are messing with the touring schedule I have been trying to come up with... With no Frozen that will be more people lining up for Soring and RSR FP's. I'm sure everything will work out fine but I'm stressing myself out lol

I looked at the link & can see the rides that are closed.
I Couldn't see Frozen on the list?
Or is it because it's not appearing on the daily entertainment schedule, which therefore means it's gone.

What!! Something else that will be "offline" that week! I just thought the entertainment schedule wasn't released yet beyond Sept 5th. But I guess I'll have to suck it up and do the pre-show on the 5th. Seems like there is a lot on my checklist for that day: Hyperspace mountain (going to try and ride as many times with FP), Frozen, Paint The Night, Disneyland Forever...it's going to be a long and crazy day!

I really hope this isn't true, and if it is I wish they would just announce it! This is so frustrating. Why don't they just officially announce everything that's ending after the 5th all at once instead of a comment here or a tweet there or posting incomplete schedules. If this is true it would be really strange though. Didn't this show just debut in May?
