September 2016 Trip Thread!!!!

I don't read this as an end of PTN or regular fireworks, but as a change to the fireworks show for the nights of the Halloween parties.

But based on no mention of the parade I'm leaning towards it being gone for a while if not forever... I was looking forward to seeing it myself and am disappointed it will be gone...

We are going Sept 18-23rd. I hope they post park hours and parades, etc soon. I'm starting to worry that we are getting there too late in the month for PTN and any sort of fireworks. We are leaving prior to the first Halloween Party. At least we have our reservation for the Chef's Counter at Napa Rose.

Can anyone tell me what day in Sept. HM reopened after the holiday overlay was installed last year?
Or when it has historically reopened?
I'm trying to time my trip around it!

EDIT: OK, it looks like it was closed from Spet. 6th to the 11th last year. It also looks like the Halloween season officially starts at DLR on Sept. 9th so HM s/b open by then.

Is that normal? I thought it took three weeks to install the overlay?

I'm not sure how long it takes to install but i can't see them kicking off Halloween time without it being open!

Schedules are released about six weeks in advance but PTN sounds like it's ending on 9/5

It does take about 18 days. I believe it's going down August 22 or 23 and will be back up Sept 9.

We just went in June and it looks like we'll be there in September as well (11th thru 15th). This time will be very different. We had teenagers, we stayed off site, crowds were big. This time it's just me and my wife, Grand Californian, crowds should be thinned out by then. Can't wait!

We're getting into Anaheim Sept 11th staying at Fairfield on Harbor but have planned a beach day and Universal Studios Day the first of our trip so we'll be in the parks the 13th through 15th. I've already booked our Minnie's Breakfast for the 14th and am making reservations today for my 4 year old to Bippity Boppity Boutique. I'm so excited for her to be able to do this! I think we're keeping the vacation a surprise from the kids (DD4 and DS6) this time...hopefully I can keep my mouth shut !

Last year HM opened on the first day of Halloweentime (we were there) but I can't remember if Space did or not, sorry!

Read the Disney Parks Blog link I posted earlier. The will not say if it will open earlier than the start, but they will certainly not open later.

DH turned to me on Friday and told me that he really wants to go home so we just booked a quick trip September 17-21! We are still planning my 45th birthday trip next March so this is a budget trip but I am so excited that we are heading back in less than 2 months! Our last DL trip was August 2015 and we did WDW December so we were not planning on going back to dl until March.

Haunted Mansion is down until September 9th for it's transition to Nightmare Before Christmas and Space Mountain will probably be down for a few days before the 9th as well, to get it's Ghost Galaxy overlay.

These are the only closures that have been published. I'm not sure why Space is not on there but it usually goes down for a couple of days before the start of Halloween so my guess would be Sept 7&8.
