September 2015 - Checkin Thread

I wish I could say the same. I am missing the end of quarter at work as I have added a WDW vacation at the end of my Disneyland vacation so I have to make sure that everything is done so that the person looking after my team just has to print everything off and hand it in.

I'm going to be gone during month end and YEAR end, so I am a little stressed. I have a lot to do the Monday before we leave, so I will probably be working late that day just to get it all done. But that's ok, the busier I am, the faster the time goes by! :)

You know that song in Les Miserables... It's called One More Day. Yes, they're referring to the start of the revolution but I can't help singing it in my head - oh and I am belting it out... ONE MORE DAY!!!

Soooo we left today and instead of splitting the drive up we just drove all the way! Now one full extra day at the park! Laying in my room at FFI as I type! :hmghost:

So, as if I wasn't stressed enough already, my workplace (a small church) is having power issues and we are on a well, so that means plumbing issues as well. So, I have to try to work from home the best I can until they can get our circuit breaker up and running again. This can take 1 - 5 days or more. Yes, this is the time when I need something like this to happen. When I have to do two and a half weeks of work in one already. So much fun!

Oh noooooo. Hope they get it figured out soon!

I was freaking out yesterday cuz I couldn't log on remotely from home, and was catastrophizing that I wouldn't be able to get all my work done the weekend before we leave (since we leave on a Tuesday morning). But thank goodness for IT techs!!

Just back from 4 days at the resort and my goodness it was hot and packed!!! The mornings were fine but once noon hits the whole resort is just packed!! We couldn't even shop in WOD on Saturday it was so busy! We had better wait times for RSR on a regular opening day (10 minute wait) than on EE day (35 minutes wait)!! Crazy!!! We had fun but at times it was a bit miserable!!

We found Monday morning/afternoon busier than the weekend!!!

I wonder if it's busier due to the Halloween stuff all being out now? I noticed that the wait times were a lot longer than last week when I peeked at the Disneyland app on my phone.

Could be! We went in expecting the weekend to be busier because it was the start of Halloweentime but it was worse than we thought, plus Monday seemed even busier!!

FFI? Fairfield Inn?

So, we got our travel docs from our TA yesterday. DH didnt even tell me until he got home. DD and I were squealing with excitement opening it up! Sooooo excited now! It's becoming REAL!!!

Been and gone and back home - only just willing to admit it is all over! I had a blast. I went 7-11 September, and the longest line I stood in all week was 45 minutes at 3:00 pm on my first day at the ticket booth exchanging my voucher! Even though Monday was labor day, getting there a little later meant the crowds weren't too bad (I had flown in that morning and had a few hours sleep first). I used single rider a lot, and only pulled one fast pass the week I was there - one of the advantages of being by myself. Another advantage was single-rider - often had CM's waving to me to rush through the cue so they could put me onto the ride. Rode RSR back to back on single rider, only waited the amount of time it took to walk back through the queue. Stayed to midnight closing on the Monday, and closing every other day except Tuesday when I was not too sensible with the heat and pushed myself a little too far. Probably the worst for crowds was Thursday night as DL closed early for the cast party, and CA was really busy.

I did Fantasmic! dining package at BB on Monday, Walk in Walt's Footsteps on the Wednesday, and got extremely lucky on Thursday and got to ride the Lilly Belle with an off-duty train engineer who was there with his family and offered to take a group on. He went into tour-guide mode and talked the entire way around the loop. I even managed to be in the very first car on Space Mountain: Ghost Galaxy on Friday, and had also done Haunted Mansion Holiday by 9:30 am.The only things I didn't ride were the Monorail (too hot to operate all week), any of the spinny rides (teacups, silly-symphony swings - can't do these type anymore), and the thread on the Wheel of Death scared me off the Fun Wheel!

I went hard all week, plus the jet-lag after flying back to Australia means I'm still really tired, but I wouldn't change a thing if I got the chance to do it all again!
