September 2014 Discount Watch!

Is anyone besides me disappointed in the Southwest Airlines sale for September dates? I'm trying to decide if it's worth buying now or waiting it out. I got a great deal in flights for last December and was hoping for the same this go around.

I totally am! I check airfare probably 6 times a day and southwest is probably one of the highest ones as of right now. We are flying out of phoenix so we don't seem to get as good of deals as the east coast folks. last time we flew on frontier and I think we bought our tickets for sept in may and flew all 5 of us roundtrip for about $1300 so I am holding out with fingers crossed!

I'm flying from Denver and just me is 354! Our December flights were 265/pp. I hope they come down. If not I have no problem flying another airline bc I could make do with a carry on since it's a girls trip.

Made our ADR's yesterday for our trip at end of September. We were able to get everything except BOG. I even made changes last night and again this morning. There were plenty of O'Hana's, Le Cellier, and CRT times available. We booked two of those and had several times to choose from. I did call to see if BOG had any openings and while on the phone mentioned that I was also too late to score a before RD ADR at Play and Dine for HS. The CM found me the earliest ADR that they had. It wasn't showing up online but she found it. Have you tried calling, too? I agree with you that too many people booking rooms may limit FD offers. I pray that it is not the case but dining is part of our enjoyment so we go 180+10 just to be certain to get our faves.

Same here, if I can't get my ADRs , no pint in going, so have to pre-book. I did get BOG today for 6:40, but had to go to the 10th day of out trip. Also had to go a fee days in to get a decent time for ohana. I also discovered that when you call, it seems they can find some that I did not see online.

We're flying from milwaukee non stop with southwest and flights are $218. That's half what I payed last year

$218 would be amazing! Cheapest I have found is $356 on delta. Southwest is a little over $550 right now. So far they are the most expensive :confused3

Sorry for an :offtopic: question - but does anyone know when bounce back offers switch over to the next year? We'll be there early September, and I'm hoping to sweet talk dh into a 2015 trip........ :lovestruc:rolleyes1

I just got a PIN in the mail for check in September 13 to the 30th. I believe its a stay and play. It says

" Experience the magic in September when you purchase a 6night/7-day Walt Disney Travel Company vacation package that includes accommodations and Theme Park tickets. For example stay at a select Disney Value Resorts $752 per adult based on adult double occupancy in a standard room. Add a child for $311 and a junior for $331 more."

I got so excited I called right away, but for me it turned out to be way more than I thought it would be, it was more than the memory maker deal they have going on now. So I didn't book anything just yet, we are holding our for a much better deal hopefully.

I just wanted everyone to know, in case this helps someone else out. Plus I thought the dates were a bit off, nothing for the beginning of September included :confused3:confused3:confused3

P.S. I stink at math so this really might not be any kind of a deal at all, lol

Our dates fit exactly in there. We are going September 13th through the 20th this year. We usually pick the first week after Labor Day, but chose this week to be sure we are in the middle of September. Hoping it plays in our favor for a deal of some sort!

I have a dumb question on free dining. Does everyone in the same room need to be on the same package?

My thought is yes. Me & dh decided FD didn't make sense for us and dd (2) so we booked at AOA LM and tickets thru orbitz.

Now in-laws are coming and if FD is offered it might make sense for them but no shot if they stay at LM rooms.

If I move all of us to family suites at AOA are ILs still not eligible because hubby and I won't be buying park tickets thru Disney ? Thinking best bet is to book them at POP.

Looks like Disney is fishing to see if there are some smaller promo/PIN that will fill up the rooms during that time frame. I also got a PIN via email on Tuesday for those exact same dates but it looks like it is a room discount.

"Start planning your Disney vacation today with this special offer"
"Stay in the middle of the magic in September
at select Disney Resort hotels.
For example, stay at Disney Value Resorts $ 98 * per night plus tax
in a standard room. For stays most Sunday–Thursday nights 9/13/14 - 9/30/14.
Disney Moderate Resorts $ 151 * per night plus tax in a standard room. For stays most Sunday–Thursday nights 9/13/14-9/30/14.
Disney Deluxe Resorts $ 281 * per night plus tax in a standard room at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge or Disney's Wilderness Lodge. For stays most Sunday–Thursday nights 9/2/14-9/25/14.

*Minimum length-of-stay requirements may apply. Additional per-adult charges apply if more than two adults per room.

Notice the dates on the Deluxe resorts are different.
This appears to be an indicator that shows what is filling up now and what is not during different time frames in September. I think Disney will send out several of these to see if they can snag some of us to book before they offer bigger promo's (hopefully FD) in September. They are fishing with smaller promo's to see if they can get rooms booked then they can exclude some dates & resorts. I think Disney will send out several of these to see

MommyApo, you got this via snail mail or email?
Did it mention anything about dining? Just wondering if it looked like a play, stay and dine or just a stay and play PIN.

Yes, everyone in your room does have to be on the same package.:thumbsup2

Flights booked for sept 23-30. What's everyone's thoughts on free dining? We need to have something to discuss while we impatiently wait.
Let's take a poll. I vote yes Disney will have free dining for Aug and Sept

I received the same flyer in my snail mail this week, but i do not think it is a "PIN". Mine said to mention a three character code when you book. These typically are not "PIN"s just ads. I was hopeful until I did the math found that the current Memory Maker package is cheaper.

Maybe next time.

We are flying SW from Pittsburgh and got fairly decent ticket prices. $235 pp

Yep, we got the same mailer... I immediately went to the Disney planning/resrvation web site and the "non discounted" prices there were better than those in the mailer... really disappointed!

The Memory Maker looks pretty good, but we want to stay longer than the 2 or 3 days of the MM 'deal.'

We are saying YES!!! We are booked 20-30th and NEED FD!!:rotfl: I would be happy with a stay, play, dine also. We got all of our ADRs including BOG, and would have to cancel some if not drop a few days if we don't get a better discount than we have now. We will still go, just have to drop a little to get the price down if not. So we are hopeful for FD so we can stay 10 days!!
