September 2012 roll call

Alex's teacher turned up last night at the house. This morning she's still beside herself about the accident. Alex is doing his best to cheer her up by going up and hugging her and saying in a loud voice 'it's okay you hit me with a rocket'. Sooner we get that child on the plane the better, there's a whole population of unsuspecting American's he can share his thoughts with just waiting for him to land.:rolleyes1

I hope everyone is feeling better soon! I feel for your DS's poor teacher, I'd be the same and its easy to accidently hurt kids because they move so quickly :laughing: fingers are the usual victims, stepped on, hit or stuck in something :rolleyes:

tis the season for spray tans......thts why i love spring, all the orange people come out to play:rotfl:

kepp healthy people!..we're on the home straight..and keep away from ledges, nurf guns, power tools, uneven pathways, ladders, banana peels......

I wish I was healthy, another darned cold thing is attacking me! :( I've had enough of being sick..

How nice of the teacher to pop in, she must have been feeling so guilty!

Only a few more days to get through before I can really start packing :yay:

2 weeks today until we leave - all possible trip stuff is done, still some bits and pieces to do before we go but nothing major. Biggest issue now is work, everyone is carrying on like I'll be gone 6 months instead of 2 1/2 weeks, making me feel guilty for going on leave. And I'm trying to train someone to do my job which is hard as the main part of the factory I plan for has been down for the last month and will be not starting up again until the week we leave. And I want to start winding down but I can't because too much to do!

Wish I was leaving next week liek some of you lucky people!

:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

wow.

i think i would look like some kind of albino freak next to her.

i look at my pasty whiteness, and then look at something like that and think... yup. i will get a tan the natural way... by getting burnt to a crisp and then peeling and turning a lovely shade of dusky gold for 2 days before reverting to my pale, pale self. :thumbsup2

spray tans now scare me.

spray tans are scary....unless applied by a professional ie: 16yr old 1st year apprentice manicurist named sandy/Cindy or Tiffany-ann.....

dont say you weren't warned!:stir:

Don't worry Aust - it will be your turn soon!!! :thumbsup2 (Then I'll be thinking the same as you - I'm jealous that you are going 2 weeks before me..!!! :laughing:)

Hmmm - orange people! Not a good look at all!! :confused3

Now, all you September people - keep well, as Karen said, and away from anything that can be damaging to you! :duck: Hope the preparations are still going well!

waiting to see if my flight upgrade comes thru.....slim chances but i live in perpetual hope

:wave2::wave2::wave2::wave2:

unless we can't get out of the local airport... There was the possibility of severe gales reaching speeds of 120kmh in inland Canterbury through to Wellington and Wairarapa tomorrow. Gales of this nature had the potential to bring powerlines down, damage trees and make driving conditions hazardous. Small twin prop plane may not fly out if it's gusting like that. Fingers crossed for an 11AM lull ladies!

Why go there? You know you are just on a hiding to nowhere! :rotfl:

A scheduled Air NZ plane just wobbled (and I do mean wobbled) over the house. :eek:

Back-up plan... DH reckons they'll bus us down to Wellington to fly via jet up to Auckland, this is unconfirmed. DH also discovered he has no travel insurance and we know he's a walking liability. I rang him this morning at 7AM (fair as I'd been up since 3AM with the wind hitting the house) and could tell he was hungover, he kept claiming he'd been hypnotised by the Hypnotist they'd hired at work. I give up.

My back-up back-up is that the dog looked like she was rapt to go to her boarding kennel, may just join her as we seem to have been dusted by the Bad JuJu Fairy at the moment.

some boarding kennels are quite nice....and at $50 a day...cheaper than POP::yes::

keep us up to date with your adventures and don't forget my travelling mantra with my blokes " their idiots, but they mean well"..... also "I gave birth to/married a squirrel " also helps in some situations"

popcorn:: staying tuned

The kennels has a play fort for the dogs. Seriously. Alex was straight into it much to the dismay of the kennel owner who yelled "it's a bit stinky" at him.

DH has packed his Dopey t-shirt. It says "I'm with Grumpy". I was tempted to get a shirt screened "You travel with this man and you'd be grumpy too".

I'm trapped in reading the wheelchair on bus debate...its like a train wreak..horrible to see but i cant stop watching
