September 2012 code watch!

I just booked our trip to POR on September 16th-26th...our longest stay ever! And....FREE DINING!

But I'm really confused...are Americans still not able to get the free dining offer? I'm not on a Canadian site (I booked on the Disney.com site) and the offer was there...

Hmmm... I just checked and free dining is still only available until March 2012....?

I wonder if they can tell my ip address or something because it clearly states free dining all through September, until the 29th. But it doesn't say Canadian only in the conditions?

Still waiting anxiously here. I can't decide on the dates, anyway, so I guess it's a good thing. Hubby wanted to go during the YES program Home School Days but if the dates are the same as this year, that will push us into October, the very beginning of F&W, possibly the opening of the first phase of FLE and almost no chance of any discounts. Bleh. I'm leaning towards mid-September instead.

Honestly, I want to plan our trip around avoiding the opening of the first part of the Fantasyland thing. I wish that DIsney had at least an estimate of the date!

Hello all from across the pond :) we always try and go to Disney the last week or 2 in September till just after my sons birthday which is the 8 th as we find the crowds are wonderful and low we have time to do MNSSHP ( we did it for the 1st time last yr and LOVeD it) and the weather is much better not too hot since we aren't used to the heat ( non existent summer for the last 2 yrs lol) .. Anyways we skipped this year due to doing 3 wks at AKL last yr so we needed the financial break I would go a few times a yr if I could :) in order for our family to go with the huge increase in flight prices I'm desperate for FD or room discount we don't get Free QS with values when booking from here :( we only get free QS with moderates!!!! So it makes our price rocket we normally always stay at Pop we cried the 1st time we walked into the lobby as we just don't get stuff like that in England, we only did delux as I got what I thought was a great deal 3 wks DDp ultimate 21 day ticket 2 rooms as there's 6 of us for £10450 it was still alot!!!!! But worth it next yr how ever my hubby has said it must stay under £8500 for everything :scared1:Including flights so pixie dust is a major must we pay for my mum to come to as she is wonderful with the boys and took mento Disney nearly every yr from 3-18 so I'm paying her back, sorry for long post..... But does anybody know if people in England are able to get pin codes??? I've heard they get attached to your name and when people have called up sometimes they get told they have one so I was just hoping:worship: also do you know if England gets room discounts and how do you know if Disney are doing them?? Thanks

I was under the impression that UK was offering free dining now . For next year I would look into it to see if they are offering it to England. Good Luck .

Hello! Can I join the party :cool1:

We just got back from our first Disney trip, fell in love and are already planning to go same time next year (our schools are out for the 3rd wk of sept) and hope for free dining :thumbsup2

we booked 2 months ago for 10 days 9 nights at the POP for sept 9-20 ... with no deal out yet it was like $7,000 with deluxe dinning so ANY discount would be awesome lol i think it is really un fair that canada gets free dining in sept but usa is only till march !!!!!!!!!

Anyone have any ideas when they will release some kind of discount for sept???

Last year I think the discounts were released early, but in previous years the discounts (free dining) were released in April or May.

I'm hoping there WILL be FD for Sept. 2012. And I'm hoping a discount will be released soon. I know Disney has hinted they are cutting back on discounts, but the economy still stinks and Sept. is hurricane and back to school season so I'm hoping FD will come our way.

If there is FD, usually the values get the quick service plan and you'd have to upgrade from the quick service fee to the Deluxe plan if that's what you want to do. That would be an expensive upgrade.

We booked when we were there a couple of weeks ago. Booked bounceback for FD for 2 weeks at the end of August. Can't wait. Hope everyone else gets a discount. Stuck with the QSDP again just don't want adr's everyday for 2 weeks. But even if we do 4 adr's it will still be cheaper than the upgrade.

I'd be happy with quick service FD. We were at WDW in mid-Aug. and missed the BB by just a couple of days. :sad1: I hope we'll eventually get the FD!

Now that my youngest is in school we need to do late August now. So I'm excited that we could do 2 full weeks in August next year with FD. This year we were set on a cruise and we cancled our FD bounceback. But when the memories package came out we booked that (changed our minds). The only problem is the dates weren't as long so we had to do 2 nights as a room only then do our FD package so we could get in 11 nights before school started.

Good luck to you.

I got FD via the website this morning!! (Yes, I am in Canada). I wonder why that is the case this year. In the past the promos have been identical. Maybe it has something to do with the dollar being at par now????

Only 361 days!!!

yeah we have upgraded b4 and it still saves us a good amount so anything would be welcomed with open arms

Just got back from my honeymoon, and DH and I think it would be great to set up a big family trip...

Hoping that the FD offer comes out...

But how do you book a bounceback trip??? I asked at the concierge desk if I could book the trip there and they said no, I had to call. Is it too late to book a bounceback trip? Do they always give you a special offer?

After booking my 2012 trip while in Canada (on a weekend vacation), I had no idea that I was on the Canadian website (I live in the US) so I called WDW today.

Spent 2 hours on the phone. Spoke to 3 supervisors and multiple Cast Members. I was told you are breaking no rules or voiding any contract if you do this from outside Canada and in the US. One person likened it to your local walmart selling a product for 10 bucks and youfinding it on walmarts website for 8 bucks. Another said it happens all the time and it is completely ok to do. There is no rule or anything else limiting it to Canadians. They. Also said you will not be looked down upon or should not feel as if you are cheating Disney. The offer is out there and people who find it are free to use it. It is no different than people who try to get pin codes by saving vacation offers or ordering planning cds. Hope this helps others.

I should also point out that twice it was told to me that "It is not a CANADIAN discount. It is an offer on the Canadian WDW website".

Now for rumor, it was also mentioned that this is likely going to be offered to the main Disney website eventually and if I was really paranoid I should just cancel this reservation at that time and rebook one but I really don't need to because this won't be a problem and my reservation looks just like any other.

This is completely legit and others are reporting the same thing. If you want to "guarantee" free dining, book it now. I guess you can google "Disneyworld.ca" and it is the first thing that comes up. The free dining offer for September 2012 is right there. You don't have to be Canadian. Again, nothing states you must be Canadian which is what differs it from the Florida Resident discount which clearly states "FOR RESIDENTS OF FLORIDA ONLY".

Hmmm. It would be just my luck that if I tried to book this offer, I would get some kind of email, or better yet upon checking in, told that this offer is invalid for me because I am not a Canadian resident. Just like offers for FL residents, wouldn't there need to be some kind of proof that you are a Canadian resident once you check in or end up having to pay the full cost of the dining plan? Just something to think about.
