Question for you: are you flying or driving? We've always flown, but are planning on driving this time to save money on airfare and car rental. Trying to get a good idea of how long it'll take us, factoring in stops for the kiddos.

We are drivers unless I find really, really cheap flights. I don't like to fly so it has to be REALLY cheap before I'll do it. I enjoy driving, I think it's fun for the kids to see different places along the way.

We are in Fort Wayne. We drove out to rural Ohio and picked up 75 somewhere and then took that most of the way. Our stupid GPS rerouted us around Atlanta and we ended up taking 40 to 95 down to Orlando. We drove from 5 am to about 8pm the first day and then maybe 7am to 1pm the second day. It was about 1100 miles from Fort Wayne. We stopped for lunch, dinner and to sleep the first day and once for gas the second day. We don't stop a lot--we drive to RI 3-4 times a year and that's 850 miles. My kids are used to it so they don't ask to stop much.

Attention, this is for 2011 not 2012. I couldn't access the 2011 thread for some reason so sorry but had to share. Good that it was available even if it was only $80 or so less than the August-September room only discount I already had. I didn't go for it, because I'm not planning to get an AP this year, but maybe someone else would have some luck too!

I went in January 2010 for the first time in many years, stayed at POP. I began looking again in the summer of 2010 for rates on the WDW site. On October 4, 2010 I got a PIN for Deluxe for 40% off, as long as I booked before October 10, 2010. The dates were August and September 2011,[ which is the time frame I had been researching rates on]. I know PIN's are random, but take it for what you think it's worth.

We are hoping to stay a few days before our late September cruise - getting a good deal will be the difference between a day or two and a longer stay. Since its just the two of us either a nice big room discount or free dining would be nice!

Planning to go eiether 9/12-21 or 9/19-28. Looking to stay our first time ever at a value. Was intrested in AoA, but the prices look steep, and it looks like they won't have the standard rooms finished yet by then. So, looking to eiether ASMo or POP. Crossing our fingers for Free Dining!! Gone the last 2 years with free dining and we love it!!!

We did 9/24 to 10/1 last year and up until about halfway through the week, the love bugs were BAD.

THey look like large fireflies and that time of year is when they mate.
So they are flying around all over the place. They DO NOT bite but can get annoying because they fly into everything, including people.

It is my understanding that they are really good at keeping the misquito population down as they eat the larva.

The lovebug where very bad at the Animal kingdom park last Sept. We go to DisneyWorld every year and this was the first year we saw them.

I had never seen them before in my life until last year. Our first year going in Sept/Oct. We have done Dec before this. I was like, what is all over the bus' windshield?? Love bugs!
They fly as though they are drunk. Lazily and everywhere. And they are everywhere. But, they are harmless. And they usually are in pairs... doing what love bugs do best I'd guess. Ah... to be a love bug....

Our plans changed a little so we'll be checking in at Pop on 9/16. Not sure how many nights we'll be staying. We are cruising on the Disney Dream before hand, so going to WDW is just bonus now. But anxiously awaiting any discounts for next year, as that will determine how long we stay. Now that we are doing Pop, the only discount that really makes me willing to stay longer is free dining. So we will see what happens!!!

You must live in Canada? Or out of the United States?
