September 2012 code watch!

We just came back from disney on the 7th. They did give us the free dining package and discount on the room. Not sure if it was only a bounce back.

Hmmm. It would be just my luck that if I tried to book this offer, I would get some kind of email, or better yet upon checking in, told that this offer is invalid for me because I am not a Canadian resident. Just like offers for FL residents, wouldn't there need to be some kind of proof that you are a Canadian resident once you check in or end up having to pay the full cost of the dining plan? Just something to think about.

But the thing is... They were told that it is *not* a Canadian discount, just a discount through the Canadian website.

I just played around with some of the numbers, and nowhere on the page does it say it is for Canadian residents only. Usually the 'resident only' discounts will have it plastered all over the page, and you will have to enter some sort of proof upon making your reservation!

My travel agent told me that is for Canadians only. I'm waiting for the offer to be extended to the US.

The current offer's booking window ends at the end of this month, and I'm hoping that a new offer will follow.

I am curious about this too. I played with the offer and got all the way through to the point of entering payment information. It auto-populated my info, including my US address. I did not enter payment info, so I cannot say if it would go through or not. I would think if you needed to be a Canadian resident, it would not allow a US address.

It will allow you I called and asked about this. I was told that when you check in you will be charged for the dinning if you are not a Canadian. I also wonder if this was a free dinning promo for the US and the Canadians did this what the feed back would be. I for one am not going to do this when I would be upset if they did this when it is our turn.

To me it's not worth the risk. I would hate to get to the resort only to be told it was not applicable. Kind of defeats the purpose. I will just wait and see. I figure I will make our resort reservation and if free dining is not offered for out dates, I will change them. There's no penalty as long as final payment hasn't been made, right?

Hey everyone,

I just booked for Sept. 13th-16th at the AoA Nemo family suite. It will be Me, Wife and DD who will be almost 2! It will be our 5 year wedding anniversary and DD first visit. My big concern is that with the opening of AoA and the fantasyland expansion possibly opening that disney will not offer any discounts at this time. Im hoping for FD for sure

Wasn't planning on returning next year... but this years trip was ruined due to DMs health and a trip to the hospital. So I am going to be going on vacation next year without her... (we don't feel like it is wise for her to travel so far away). A friend from work MAY join me.... but can't commit till after the beginning of the year.... regardless I think I will go alone if I have to!

Don't know resort yet... LOVED POR but can't afford it without some kind of discount.... if have to go value... POP will be my 1st choice. Thinking about Sept 9th-14th.

This is how I feel too. I wouldn't chance it. It's on the Canadian website and advertised as a Canadian offer, so I am going to leave it at that. I think Disney will offer a Sept free dining promo for the U.S. public again as Sept is still a slower month, it's just a matter of when they are going to release the promo this time which I am sure is testing all of our patience :).

We received free dinning last year even after finale payment was made. I am with you on not doing the Canadian offer. It will be interesting to hear the post if they get to Disney and their told they have to payout for the dinning they booked. I would also not want to be standing there with my children beside me and told we booked a offer we should not have.

I should also point out that twice it was told to me that "It is not a CANADIAN discount. It is an offer on the Canadian WDW website".

I love how everyone gets a different answer when they call and ask questions.

I don't plan on booking through the Canadian website anyway. For one, I don't want to risk it either. Also, their offer requires a 4 night minimum, and my parents only want to be there for 3 nights - which is what the current US site offer is. My best friend and I will be there for 9 nights, so it wouldn't matter, but since we're all going together, we want to book together.

I accidently booked the free dining while in canada, not realizing that it was a canadian only offer. I called and they said they will ask for ID, but however put a note on my account explaining what happened and saying that I am ok with out it.

OK...so I looked online at the Canada site and it showed the package. I then went to the US site and it was showing the discount. I booked online and it auto-populated my address since I was signed in. I called about an hour later to confirm it was OK and was told it was. I called two hours after that and told that it was Canada only and I would be asked for my passport when I arrived.

Weird that I was able to book it through the US site and then (as usual) was told by one CM it was OK and then by different CM it wasn't. The one that said it wasn't checked with supervisor and told me I had to change it.

Most likely when you first visited the Canadian site it placed a cookie on your computer. So, when you went back on and thought you were on the US site, you were in fact still on the Canadian site. Same thing happened to me. Once I cleared my history it took me back to the US site with the US free dining dates.

This is more than likely the case. I was talking to a friend who lives in Canada, and she sent me a link because she assumed she was had always been accessing the US website, but it still gave her dates through Fall 2012. When I clicked the link on my computer, it only gave me dates through March, but when I clicked it on my phone (that has never been on the Disney website before) it gave me dates through September, and quoted the price in USD.

It's really, really confusing. I just wish they'd release it universally and never do this again.

I was hoping that a new 2012 offer would be released soon, but they just extended the booking for the existing FD in Jan.-Mar. 2012. The booking is now until 12/17, so we may have to wait longer to see if/when the next promotion(s) will be.

I hope that FD will be extended to other times in 2012, especially September! :)
